White-tailed deer hunting on Fort Campbell Season dates, bag limits, and area information Season Dates 16 September 31 December 2018 Bag limits One (1) antlered deer per season. Any deer with at least 3 antler length on one antler is considered an antlered deer. Antler measurements must meet definition of legal antlered deer (see figures below). A. A buck with less than a 15 inch outside spread can be harvested IF that buck has at least 4 points on one antler. B. A buck with less than 4 points on both antlers can be harvested IF that buck has an outside spread of at least 15 inches. C. A buck with less than 4 points on both antlers and less than a 15 inch outside spread CANNOT be harvest on Fort Campbell. Harvest of any illegal buck will result in a 2 year suspension of all hunting privileges on Fort Campbell "Earn-a-Buck" remains suspended for the 2017 deer season. Hunters are not required to harvest a doe prior to harvesting a legal antlered deer. We do encourage hunters to harvest does to prevent the reimplementation of this program in future seasons.
All harvested deer must be checked in at Fort Campbell Fish and Wildlife s Big Game Check Station. Turkey Harvest During Deer Season Non-bearded turkeys may be harvested by bow hunters on any authorized archery only deer hunt, but that individual must possess either a Fort Campbell Sportsman Permit or an Annual Turkey Permit. No bearded turkeys are authorized for take while deer hunting. Season limit is 3 non-bearded turkeys. See information on fall turkey hunting for information on hunting bearded and nonbearded turkeys outside of deer hunting. All harvested turkey must be checked in at Fort Campbell Fish and Wildlife s Big Game Check Station. Active Duty Only Areas: Area Details Areas will be allocated daily to Active Duty Military personnel and their dependents. Active Duty will receive 20% of areas opened for hunting daily. These areas will be randomly selected each Wednesday. isportsman will only allow individuals with an Active Duty (and dependents) validated account to check-in to Active Duty only areas. Disabled American Veteran Only Areas: Areas will be allocated daily to Disabled American Veterans and their dependents. DAVs will receive 15% of areas opened for hunting daily following selection of Active Duty only areas. These areas will be randomly selected each Wednesday. isportsman will only allow individuals with a DAV (and dependents) validated account to check-in to DAV only areas. Handicap Hunting Areas: HC Hunting Areas will be opened daily depending on military training. isportsman will only allow DAVs and Handicapped Civilians to check-in to HC Hunting Areas. Handicapped hunters area authorized to take a companion in HC Hunting Areas to assist them. Companions are no longer authorized to harvest animals or possess a weapon while assisting a handicapped hunter. Below are current HC Hunting Areas: 00HC, 08HC, 12HC, 14HC, 31HC
Remaining areas will be allocated each Wednesday to all users including Active Duty Military, DAVs, DoD ID Cardholders, and Non-affiliated Civilians. Areas and Authorized Weapon(s) Authorized weapon(s) are designated by hunting area. Several areas on Fort Campbell are designated as Archery Only areas. The following areas are to be Archery Only for the 2017 deer season upon availability: 00C, 01, 07, 08B, 14A, 14HC, 15, 18, 42A, 43B, and AB03. The following areas will be Archery Only for the 2-4 weeks of the 2017 deer season upon availability: 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 09B, 16, and 26. The following areas will be Shotgun (SG), Muzzleloader (ML), and Archery for the entire 2017 deer season upon availability: 00HC, 08HC, 08A, 09A, 10, 11, 12HC, 13, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 27, 28, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 40, 41, 43A, 44A, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 51, and 52. Areas will be released upon availability which is dependent on military training. Archery hunters hunting in SG, ML, Archery areas are required to meet fluorescent orange requirements mentioned in regulations.

Archery hunters must meet same fluorescent orange requirements as SG and ML hunters.
Doe Only Areas To maintain and meet management objectives there will be areas opened throughout the year for purposes of harvesting female deer. Doe Only Areas will also be used in the event that buck quotas are met in areas throughout the season. These areas will be posted in isportsman as follows: Activity: Deer Hunting Doe Only Area (example): 02 Deer (SG, ML, Archery) Doe Only Check-in and Check-out Schedule check-in times are as follows: 16 September 3 November: 20:00 (8:00PM) night prior. 4 November 31 December: 19:00 (7:00PM) night prior. Checkout is required at end of every day. Checkout after your hunt is over. Failure to checkout will result in a 30 day suspension of all hunting, fishing, and outdoor recreation activities. Big Game Check Station Hours Fort Campbell Fish and Wildlife s Big Game Check Station is opens every morning at 7:30 and closes each night 90 minutes after official sunset. If you harvest an animal and feel you cannot reach the check station by 90 minutes post-sunset, you need to call the front desk: 270-798-9824.
