GENERAL INFORMATION On behalf of Corvatsch skiresort we are pleased to invite all teams to attend the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup Slopestyle Final in Silvaplana. The event starts on Wednesday, March 1st 2017 with the first training day. Thursday, March 2nd is the second training day. Qualification takes place on Friday, March 3rd and finals on Saturday, March 4th. Sunday, March 5th will be a reserve day. The event is also an AFP Platinum Event. WORLD CUP ENTRIES Entries will be accepted from National Ski Associations with the FIS quotas and rules. Please submit the provisional number of your competition team (including competitors and officials) and the names of participants till January 22nd, 2017. The final number of your competition team (including competitors and officials) and the name of participants must be submitted to the Organizing Committee no later than February 21st, 2017. The FIS online registration system is accessed through the FIS Homepage www.fis-ski.com Member Section. FIS has established nation quotas for World Cup. National Freestyle Ski Teams can only enter World Cup Freestyle Ski competitions according to the quota limitations. LOCATION Silvaplana (1.815m) with its skiresort Corvatsch (up to 3.303m) is located in the Engadine, Switzerland. Engadine is a famous valley in the southern Alps with a long skiing tradition and St. Moritz as its main town. Corvatsch goal is to establish an outstanding freeskiing event in the Engadine valley. As Corvatsch is a big mountain resort, the slopestyle course will be located on a high altitude with its start on 2.700m. SLOPESTYLE COURSE Construction Crew: Stefan Plattner (AUT) is the designer and headshaper of the course. Stefan has 17 years of experience in course designing, snow park building and cat driving. Since February 2015 he is responsible for park management and slopestyle and halfpipe design at Corvatsch. Stefan and his team bring in all their know how to set up once again a spectacular course. The plan is to build 4 jumps and 4 jib features. Be prepared for a long and challenging run. The course setup will be published end of January on www.corvatsch.ch. There is a chairlift beside the course. ACCOMMODATION Tourism organisation Engadin St. Moritz can offer reduced prices for accommodation (80 CHF to 120 CHF) depending on hotel standard. Try booking your lodging as soon as possible. There are several airports in more or less the same distance to Engadine valley: Zurich, Switzerland; Milano, Italy; and Innsbruck, Austria. All these airports are 3 to 3,5 hours car driving distance to St. Moritz. If you are travelling with public transport choose Zurich airport (4 hours travel by train).
ONSITE ACCREDITATION Registration will be held at Corvatsch valley station of the cable car (Address: Via dal Corvatsch 73, CH-7513 Silvaplana). Every competitor has to pay CHF 100 administration fee. All athletes and coaches will be provided with food vouchers for official training and competition days (Wednesday to Saturday). LIFT TICKETS All athletes and coaches will get free lift tickets during the World Cup Week. From Monday, February 27 th to Sunday, March 5 th and a free Snow Night ticket for Friday night skiing. TEAM CAPTAINS MEETING Team Captains Meeting will be held in the assembly hall of Hotel Nira Alpina opposite of Corvatsch valley station. First Team Captains Meeting is on Tuesday, March 1st at 7.00pm. PRIZE MONEY Prize money for the Corvatsch FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup Slopestyle will be 50.000 CHF (25.000 CHF per gender). The prize winners will receive their prize money at the ticket desk on Corvatsch valley station. No ID, no Cash! BIBS All competitors must wear bibs during training, the competition and at the awards ceremony.
ANTI DOPING Anti-doping control may be conducted for this event. ACCIDENT INSURANCE All competitors must have own medical insurance. The Organizing Committee, sponsors, suppliers, their agents, employees and volunteers, the FIS and Swiss Ski and Freeskiing Association decline any responsibility for accidents, damaged or lost equipment and second and third party claims during the event. LIABILITY All athletes, officials and members of National Associations who attend and participate in the event shall do so at their own risk. The Organizing Committee, sponsors, suppliers, their agents, employees and volunteers, the FIS and Swiss Ski and Freeskiing Association shall not be responsible for any losses or injuries incurred or suffered by any athlete, official or other person in conjunction with the organizing and staging of the event.
