"Prosecco Classic De Marchi Valdobbiadene (TV) 10th September 2017 The Prosecco Classic De Marchi is a non-competitive Tourist Cycle trial of 100km long. Regulation Article 1 - Execution Due to organisational reasons the Historic Race LA PROSECCO CLASSIC DE MARCHI will start from Valdobbiadene this year; the capital of Prosecco DocG. Registrations will be possible by the Restaurant Villa Sandi, where the will be the main desk, full of secretary and race judges in order to verify cardholders. If you haven t yet subscribed online, you will be able to do so on site Sunday morning between 7.00 and 7.45. The start will be 5 minutes postponed in respect to the Gran Fondo Prosecco Cycling. This latter in-fact starts by 8.45 from square Guglielmo Marconi, in front of the Municipality of Valdobbiadene. The route is just about marvellous. This 2017 edition of the historical cycling race LA PROSECCO CLASSIC DE MARCHI owns the same track of Prosecco Cycling which starts just a few minutes before. Sunday as planned, the historical race will be characterised by two tracks. The longest one already in use since the past editions of the Prosecco Cycling, measuring 96.4 kilometres with a total height difference of 1550 meters. The second and shortest track, from Refrontolo towards Pieve di Soligo and Farra di Soligo, will successively connect to a flattened segment, the second part of the itinerary (description follows below). Race description After having started from Valdobbiadene, LA PROSECCO CLASSIC DE MARCHI will head to Combai and Follina. Directing towards Tarzo, will continue to Resera, Refrontolo, San Pietro di Feletto, Conegliano, Susegana and Collalto (this valid for the long track). For the second part, the track will extend to Semaglia della Battaglia, here getting into some dirt roads, Farra di Soligo,
Moriago della Battaglia, Vidor, Colbertaldo, San Giovanni, Valdobbiadene. These wonderful landscapes, are the very heart of some unique hills where Prosecco takes birth. The shortest track finds all the way inside a naturalness, free of any harshness. The long track definitely requires more effort, it having only three short but tough uphill climbs. Without a doubt, effort is dependent from the manufacturing year of your bike as well as your sport s shape. To bikes manufactured between the second half of the 70s to the 80s, the long track will result pleasant. The hard uphills' spurts, thanks to their shortness will reveal very feasible. For those who own older bikes and are less trained, the short track is recommendable. The tract Muro di Ca' del Poggio aside from a very suggestive circumambient, will be awaiting with a special refreshment. Out of Prosecco and Scampi, not stopping by to delight in it would show ambitious at the least. Another harsh uphill is to be found by San Pietro di Feletto, one more by Collalto. Hereon the another part will boast on dirt roads. The second part will start here and the dirt road will follow a flat part almost all the way up to the Arrival at Locanda Sandi. After taking some pictures of the Athletes the last Refreshment Area and the public applause will take place at Guglielmo Marconi Square. The DE MARCHI race will be signalled by YELLOW ARROWS EDM DE MARCHI to differentiate from the Gran Fondo Prosecco Cycling track. This latter undertaken through modern road bikes will own separate marks, in colours too (it is highlighted that the historical cyclists will never get across cyclists of the Gran Fondo Prosecco Cycling, exception is for a 3km ride within the Municipality of Sernaglia Della Battaglia, true for those tackling the short race version. By meeting the one-way road of Sernaglia's centre, the historical cyclists will turn RIGHT, towards Moriago della Battaglia Isola dei Morti, for a long segment outlined by dirt roads. Proceeding through, thus reaching Vidor where dirt roads end to leave place to concrete, onwards to Colbertaldo, Bigolino (6km away to the finish line), thence Valdobbiadene. Only through the Gravel located in Cervada is possible to ride the course of the great war in its totality. Next, through the Trevigian countryside follows Susegana, Colfosco, Ponte della Priula, Nervesa della Battaglia, Montello. By Nervesa della Battaglia the touristic route is to be pursued. It runs along the canal that flows at the foot of Montello. Such path is well loved by local fanatics as the area is fully absorbed in nature (about 15km). Refreshment by the remarkable canteen of Ida Agnoletti.
Appropriately fed and thirst-quenched, what renews the race is Ciano del Montello. To whom chooses the Gravel Marathon route, the track carries on through Vidor, crossing the bridge thus entering the one-way road. Chasing the left hand side onwards to Bigolino, turning to the right to Colbertaldo, participants will find their arrival at Valdobbiadene. The Organisers will have the right to: change the path in the event of adverse weather conditions or for safety reasons, to stop the event even if already started, to delay the start of the race and to change the route.
