Mini Transat No. 29 Description Mini Transat 29 boat which was designed by Fauroux and modified by Pascal Conq and Michel Desjoyeux. The main modifications were in 1991 with the addition of the first offshore racing canting keel. See Photos below from 1991. She has recently (2011-2013) been subject to an extensive refit involving removal of all deck equipment, repair to hull and deck to address 20 year of use. Hull faired and painted and all equipment re-fitted. Hull The hull and deck are glass/epoxy/foam sandwich in good condition following refit. The canting keel is welded steel with a lead bulb. The bearings were new in 2010. The keel was refaired 2012. Lifting daggerboard carbon fibre reinforced wood re-sheathed in carbon fibre 2012 Rig The original carbon mast was lost in 2009, and replaced in 2010 with a carbon mast originally built for Mini No 432, in about 2005. Adjustable spreader angles. The carbon boom was built in 2010. Rotating Carbon Fibre Bowsprit. The standing rigging is all in 1x19 stainless wire that was all new in December 2009. The halyards are all 6mm Dyneema. The runners are 8mm Dyneema core (new 2010) Bowsprit guys are 8mm vectran (new 2013) Carbon Jockey Poles Sails Mainsail Solent Spinnaker Code Zero Storm Sails The mainsail was bought in March 2011 and is a secondhand sail from Mini 759. Is has one season of use including a transat and is still in pretty good condition. It is a large flat-top main from AllPurpose. Solent new in 2010 from Severn Sails to a design by Owen Sails in Scotland (www.owensails.com). There is a large 100sqm North spinnaker it is now about 8 years old but is in new condition. There are 3 other spinnakers in a range of sizes and weights in good condition. Code zero on a furler. Storm trysail which has never been used and storm jib. Electronics 2 100 A/h Carbon fibre Leasure Batteries new 2013. 2 60 Watt solar panels with Seca 10A charge controller. Navman Multi speed, depth and wind instruments (new 2010). Raymarine SPX-5 Tillerpilot and ST6002 control head. New 2010. Simrad TP10 as a backup pilot. Garmin GPS 120 NASA LED masthead navigation light (Very bright!) plus spare Icom IC-M411 DSC VHF radio with a masthead antenna AIS transponder (not fitted) AIS aerial splitter Efoy 1600 Methanol Fuel Cell Deck Gear 2 Lewmar self-tailing primary winches. Halyards can be led back to these and the jib sheets and runners both have fine tune tackles on them and do not need winching. Mixture of Harken, Wichard, Spinlock and Lewmar gear. Engine Yamaha 4hp 4stroke. Runs well. New propeller 2013.

Owners Comments I had intended to race Mini Transat No:29 locally in offshore races and British Mini races but due to work and family commitments I have realised this will not happen. I have undertaken an extensive refit and she is now back to looking very smart. During the refit where opportunities arose weight was removed from the boat to improve performance. From sailing her locally around Plymouth last year, she is an easy to handle fast boat. The electronics of autopilot combined with batteries, solar panel and fuel cell are a great benefit in short handed sailing. The fuel cell insuring that whatever the weather there is always the ability to run the autopilot. No. 29 is now in need of a new owner to take advantage of this successful race boat following the extensive refit.
