Participants must reach the age of 18 in the year of the event. Each relay team consists of a swimmer, a cyclist and a runner. All-female, all-male and mixed relay teams will be eligible to take part. Special offer for company relay teams. There will be an editorial contribution about each company in the program booklet. In addition, there will be a separate award ceremony for the fastest Trophy relay teams at the finish-line stadium on race day. Each Trophy relay team will also receive three bottles of champagne. Only firefighters (female or male) can take part in the World Championship of Firefighters. In order to take part, please click the appropriate button during online registration. After registration, athletes are asked to immediately send a copy of their service card or a confirmation issued by their employer to the event organizer via mail, fax or e-mail (scanned copy). Each team consists of participants of the same sex. The results of the three best athletes of each club will count. Attention: All team participants are asked to indicate the name of their club in exactly the same spelling (including potential abbreviations) in their registration forms, so that the registration system can identify them as team members. All athletes who indicate a finishing time of less than 9 hours will automatically be classified as SUB9. If they indeed finish the race in less than 9 hours, their entry fee will be subsequently reduced to EUR 99.00 (EUR 149.00 if they registered during our pre-christmas action), and the surplus will be reimbursed. Furthermore, the entry fee includes the following services: Gifts for athletes, participation in carbo party, swimming cap, food and drink during and after the race, bike service on the cycling course, traffic control, security service, medical service, medal, finisher s shirt, massage service, instant finisher s certificate, online list of results, including team competition results, referees and anti-doping tets. During instant registration on July 18, 2016 at the pavilion, payment can be effected by direct debit, credit card (Visa or Mastercard) or in cash. If you register online, payment can only be made by bank transfer, direct debit or credit card (Visa or Mastercard). An additional fee of Euro 20.00 will be charged for credit card payments. Bank transfer fees are always at the participant s expense. All athletes who reach place 1 to 10 in 2015 DATEV Challenge Roth in the overall classification (male/female), will be entitled to free entry for the 2016 race. Additional costs Euro 30.00 for a day license (only for athletes without a valid license of a triathlon federation) Euro 5.00 to borrow a transponder/chip. Athletes who bring their own transponder/champion Chip, do not have to pay this fee. If the borrowed transponder/chip is damaged or lost, a fee of Euro 50.00 will be charged. Detailed information regarding returning the transponders are included in the Race Regulations. For all athletes, participation in the carbo party is included in the entry fee. In addition, there is a limited number of tickets for accompanying persons. They are available at Euro 17.00 each at the Athletes Service Point and at the Information Desk in front of the Festival Hall. Free entry for children under 12 years. Registration Further information regarding registration Registration can generally only be effected online via our homepage www.challenge-roth.com/an-abmeldung.html There will be three ways to register: 1. Instant registration, Monday July 18, 2016, 9.30 a.m., main pavilion At the 2016 Award Ceremony at 9.30 a.m., athletes will have the opportunity to immediately register for 2017 DATEV Challenge Roth. Tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The number of start places is limited to 1,000 individual participants and 200 relay teams. Each athlete will be allowed to acquire one ticket (either for themselves or for another person). In view of huge interest, unfortunately we cannot guarantee that each athlete will in fact be able to obtain a ticket. 2. Online registration, Monday July 25, 2016, 10 a.m. On Monday, July 25, at precisely 10.00 a.m. the online registration process will be launched. Further slots will be allocated depending on the order of incoming registrations. This will only be a pre-registration, in which athletes are asked to give their first name, last name, date of birth, nationality and e- mail address. Each athlete whose registration has been successful, will receive a confirmation via e-mail within 24 hours, including a personal registration code. The registration can then be completed using this code. Please note that the registration must be made within one week! Since the race will again be booked up soon, we urgently ask everyone to get ready for registration at precisely 10 a.m. You d better be fast! 3. Pre-Christmas Action on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, 12 noon As a part of our charity pre-christmas action, our registration lists will again be open on December 6 at exactly 12 noon, in order to allocate the very last remaining tickets. The action will follow the same principle as the online registration on July 25. By taking part in the action, athletes will again support a good cause: For each ticket sold on December 6, EUR 50 will be donated to people who urgently require help. If you want to take part in the action, please make sure to be exactly on time. Registration will only be accepted subject to receipt of payment within 14 days. The organizer is entitled to reject a registration without giving any specific reasons (so-called freedom of contract). If there is a legitimate reason (e. g. if athletes are suspected to disturb the race), the organizer reserves the right to subsequently withdraw the registration and to exclude the participant from taking part. In addition, in case of any violation of rules, the organizer always has the right to disqualify athletes in consultation with the race jury. The organizer reserves the right to punish participants who are disqualified due to obvious fraud with a lifelong prohibition from participation in DATEV Challenge Roth. Swapping start places is generally excluded for individual participants. In any case of contravention, a lifelong prohibition from participation in DATEV Challenge Roth will be imposed on both athletes. As soon as the maximum number of registrations has been reached, no further registrations will be accepted. Withdrawal of registration Until April 30, 2017, participants will have a right to withdraw their registration, in which case the entry fee will be reimbursed with deduction of a handling fee of Euro 80.00. After April 30, 2017 entry fees will no longer be reimbursed. Registration can only be withdrawn via the Withdrawal Form on our homepage at www.challenge-roth.com/an-abmeldung.html. Upon sending their withdrawal request, athletes are asked to indicate their IBAN and SWIFT Nos. for reimbursement of the entry fee. Any bank fees are at the participant s expense. On the bike course, the road traffic regulations (StVO) are binding! 42.195 km run course on roads and paths along Main-Donau-Canal, completely closed to traffic. Flat course, one slightly ascending slope within 4 km to the finish. Borrowed chips are to be handled with care. Bayerisches Rotes Kreuz (Bavarian Red Cross) Wasserwacht Roth (Water Rescue Service Roth) Toilets are located at the transition zones, all aid stations and at the finishline area. Shower facilities are located at the finish-line area. There will be separate showers at the transition zones for relay swimmers and relay cyclists. Food and drink Start times and finish closing time Collecting the start documents Check-in and check-out times for bikes and athletes bags Race meeting Award ceremony Aid stations are always located at the same distances and offer food and drink in the same order: bike course: approx. every 17.5 km run course: approx. every 2 km finish-line area Athletes can bring their own food and drink and ask accompanying persons to pass them the food and drink at any aid station (bike and run course). Every athlete is asked to organize the provision of their own food and drink with the help of accompanying persons. The race organizer does not assume any responsibility for this private service. Details regarding the aid stations and the food and drink that are offered there are included in the Race Regulations. The race will be started in several start groups, beginning at 6.30 a.m. The last start groups are reserved for relay teams. The exact allocation of start groups, including start times of the groups will be included in the Race Regulations. Finish closing time: approx. 10.45 p.m. at the Roth festival ground Thursday, July 6 between 12 noon and 6 p.m. Friday, July 7 between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Saturday, July 8, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Attention: Please bring your identity card, your own chip, start pass of your national federation and your start number when collecting your start documents. Bike check-in: Saturday, July 8 at the swim start (canal landing stage Hilpoltstein) between 11.30 a.m. and 4 p.m. The check-in and check-out times for the athletes bags and the times for bike check-out will be listed in detail in the Race Regulations. It is obligatory for all athletes to attend the race meeting. It will take place on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the pavilion in Roth at the following times: 12 noon Spanish 3.00 p.m. French 4.00 p.m. individual participants and German Championship (German and English) 5.00 p.m. relay teams (German) For English-speaking relay teams there will be a separate race meeting at the press center at the clubhouse at 6.00 p.m. The DCR award ceremony takes place on Monday, July 10, at the pavilion in Roth as of 11 a.m. The award ceremony for the World Championship of Firefighters takes place on Monday, July 10, at the Roth fire station at 2 p.m. Ausschreibung_DATEV Challenge Roth 2017_EN_v03.docx page 6 of 8

Prize money for individual participants (DCR) Prize money for relay teams (DCR) Non-cash prizes (DCR) (individual and relay) Special prizes (DCR) (individual and relay) Personal responsibility of participants for technical safety of equipment The following minimum amounts of prize money are guaranteed for the first ten female and male athletes: 1. place Euro 15,000.00 2. place Euro 8,000.00 3. place Euro 5,000.00 4. place Euro 3,000.00 5. place Euro 2,000.00 6. place Euro 1,100.00 7. place Euro 800.00 8. place Euro 700.00 9. place Euro 600.00 10. place Euro 550.00 in total Euro 73,500.00 For foreign participants, withholding tax will be retained in accordance with German tax regulations. Prize money will not be paid until the official results of the doping tests are received. Price money will only be paid to top ten finishers, who can provide a pro license when they collect their start documents. A move-up procedure is not in charge. For the first three relay teams (male, female, mixed) the following minimum amounts of prize money are guaranteed: 1. place Euro 900.00 2. place Euro 600.00 3. place Euro 300.00 All individual participants who finish the competition within the time limit of 15 hours, will receive the official DCR finisher s shirt. All relay participants whose relay team finishes the competition within the time limit of 13 hours and 45 minutes, will receive a special finisher s shirt for relay teams. The fastest age-group athletes will receive a present. Athletes who reach the 1 st to 3 rd place of each age group (female and male), will receive trophies. Teams or relay teams who reach the 1 st to 3 rd place (female and male), will receive special prizes. Each finisher will receive an instant certificate at the finish-line area. Athletes who reach a place among the top ten finishers are excluded from age-group classification. According to DTU sports regulations, paragraph 12.2 each participant is responsible for the technical safety of their equipment and is to make sure that the equipment is in line with the rules. General conditions of participation Upon registration, the participant accepts the following regulations, provisions and rules in the same order - to be binding. Acceptance of and adherence to these regulations is a basic prerequisite for participating in the event.
