State Cup Seeding 2016-17 (Updated March, 2017) PURPOSE: Tennessee State Soccer Association (TSSA) D1, D2, and D3 State Leagues advance teams to their respective State Cup. The following seeding schedule will be used to place the teams for all such ages in the State Cup. SEEDING: DIVISION 1- All teams that have qualified for the Southern Regional League (SRPL) and the Midwest Regional League (MRL) will not be required to participate in the Tennessee State League (TSL) and will advance to the 1 st round of the State Cup. Seeding for these teams will be based on the current standings in order of SRPL, 1 st Division SRPL, and finally MRL. The remaining available State Cup slots will be filled by highest finishing TSL teams. We will also follow TSL rules and only have 1 division of play for Division 1 TSL and will not divide into East and West. The top eight (8) teams from the SRPL, MRL, and TSL as identified from the above will advance to the 1 st round of the State Cup. The top two (2) finishers will advance to State Cup and be seeded as follows: 1 st place East STATE LEAGUE 1 st place Central STATE LEAGUE 2 nd place West STATE LEAGUE 1 st place West STATE LEAGUE 2 nd place Central STATE LEAGUE 2 nd place East STATE LEAGUE *If we have Four or Five teams to apply, 4 teams will qualify for the State Cup and will play as follows: #1 seed vs. #4 seed and #2 seed vs. #3 seed on Saturday and then the winners advance to a Final on Sunday and the other two teams will play a Third-place match Sunday. Seeding is final and cannot be appealed.
