DATES Singapore Badminton School (SBS) invites players to participate in the Yonex Cup Carnival 2017 from 3 Dec (Sunday) to 9 December (Saturday). 4. Note: Schedule is subjected to change at the discretion of the referee (based on the number of entries received). Start of play will be based on the number of entries and will be published on the tournament software website. REGISTRATION: Open: 26 August 2017 (Saturday) Close: 30 October, 2017 (Monday) *Registration form is available for download on: www.singaporebadmintonschool.com.sg Entities: a) All players taking part in the competition will be deemed to have read and accepted the conditions under which the competitions events are to be conducted. b) For your own safety, participants are advised to seek medical health and fitness clearance from medical professionals before competing in the games. The organizers shall not be responsible for any personal health and medical related incidents. c) Late entries will not be accepted. 7. ELIGIBILITY OF PARTICIPANTS 7.1 This tournament is opened to all local and overseas players. Entries for overseas players must be submitted along with a scan copy of the players passport details and registration form to the official email. 7.2 Participants from National Intermediate Squad (NIS) or Singapore Sports School (SSP) are limited to participate in the Open Category.
7.3 Players must submit a photocopy of their ID/Student Pass/Passport with their cheque payment for verification. 7.4 Age qualification shall be based on the following: Age Group Birth Year Age in 2017 (Calendar Year) Under 9 Born in 2009 and after 8 years old or younger Under 11 Born in 2007/2008 9 or 10 years old Under 13 Born in 2005/2006 11 or 12 years old Under 15 Born in 2004/2003 13 or 14 years old Under 17 Born in 2002/2001 15 or 16 years old Open - All Ages 7.5 A player can participate in his/her age group category or a higher age group category but NOT in a lower age group category. (E.g. A player 14 years of age in 2017 is eligible to participate in the U-15 / U-17 and Open category for Singles and Doubles events) 7.6 Organizers may request evidence of eligibility during the tournament. Any player found ineligible will NOT be allowed to play and the player will have to concede walkover for that match. There will be NO refund of entry fee. 8. ENTRY & REGISTRATION 8.1 Each player is ONLY allowed to enter a maximum of 4 events. More specifically, each player can enter up to TWO Singles and TWO Doubles events, either within their age group or higher. 8.2 The registration fees for each event are as follows: 8.2.1 Singles S$50.00 per entry 8.2.2 Doubles S$100.00 per pair 8.3 Payment for the registration fee is accepted in cash or by cheque and is non-refundable. (Only cash payment is accepted for overseas participants.) 8.4 All cheques to be made payable to Singapore Badminton School and crossed A/C Payee only with indication of participant s name and category joining at the back of the cheque. All cheques and cash payments must also be accompanied by a hard copy of the duly completed registration form and submitted by 30 October 2017 to: SINGAPORE BADMINTON SCHOOL Address : Block 474 #01-108, Tampines Street 43 Singapore 520474 Operating Hours : 12:00pm 8:00pm (Mon-Fri), 11:00am 6:00pm (Sat-Sun) 8.5 A minimum of 16 entries per event will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to conduct qualifying round if it decides to accept more than 64 entries.
8.6 List of participants will be released on 19 November 2017. The Organizer will conduct draws on 27 November 2017. 8.7 The above information stated in 8.6 will be released on the tournament website and announced on our official Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/singaporebadmintonschool/ 8.8 There will be no seeding for this competition. 8.9 In the event of insufficient entries for any event (i.e. less than 16 entries), the event/s may be merged with the same event of another age category or be cancelled. 8.10 If there are less than 16 entries in any event, the prize money/ prizes for that event may be reduced. 8.11 The prize money will be determined by Singapore Badminton School, the organizer for this tournament. 9. TOURNAMENT FORMAT 9.1 The tournament will be a single knockout format for all events. 10. TOURNAMENT RULES 10.1 The tournament will be conducted in accordance with the current Badminton World Federation (BWF) rules. 10.2 All matches will be played in accordance with the schedule of play. Postponement of any matches will be at the Organizing Committee s discretion. 10.3 All players are required to bring along their photo identification documents for verification on days of their matches. 10.4 Once entries have been accepted, no replacement/substitution of players will be entertained. However, the Organizing Committee, at its discretion, reserves the right to accept such changes if necessary and with valid reasons, so long as no match has been played by the player/s. 10.5 All players must report to the Official Registration Table at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time of their matches. 10.6 Players will be given a grace period of a maximum 5 minutes for all matches, failing which the player will concede a walkover for that particular match. 10.7 In the event that both players fail to turn up, the match will be scratched. 10.8 Players shall wear non-marking shoes during the competition. 10.9 The competition format will be based on the best of 5 games of 11 points (No Deuce) for all categories. 10.10 Players are given a minimum of 30 minutes rest period before commencement of the next match at any round (including semis & finals). 10.11 The decision of the umpires and officials shall be deemed as final. 10.12 Players are required to stay on the court AFTER their match had ended, to act as line judges for the following match. Players who fail to do so will lead to a disqualification and/or ban from future tournaments. Players may also be called randomly to act as line judges for the 1 st round of matches for the session. 10.13 There will be line judges provided on the final day. 10.14 From quarter-finals onwards, all doubles pairs are required to wear attire of at least the same color, if not exactly the same design and color.
10.15 The Organizing Committee has the right to amend the rules & regulations prior to the commencement of the event. 11. PRIZE & INCENTIVES 11.1 Total incentives in the form of cash/vouchers/rackets worth $23,000 to be awarded to prize winners. The Yonex sporting attire will be given to all prize winners. NO other attire or slippers are allowed. 11.3 Prizes money will be reduced accordingly depending on the number of entries. 12. REFUND POLICY 12.1 Unless the Organizing Committee cancels the event, there will be no refund of the entry fees. 13. INDEMNITY 13.1 While reasonable precautions will be taken, the organizer will not be responsible or in any way liable for any death, disability, personal injury, loss of property or any other loss howsoever arising from any cause whatsoever at any time during the course of this tournament. 13.2 The Organizer reserves the right to amend the Terms & Conditions set out in this prospectus at its sole discretion without prior notice.
