Competition Rules 1. CONDUCT OF ATHLETES 1.1. It is the athlete's responsibility to know every detail of the regulations 1.2. With your registration, the athlete accepts the general regulations Lanzarote Sailfish Open Water and conditions of participation. 1.3. Each athlete is responsible for a good physical condition when competing and a healthy workout, each athlete is directly responsible for ensuring that no health problems present themselves which prevent the athlete from taking part in the competition. 1.4. Doping is prohibited. With your registration, each athlete accepts the doping regulations, which are required for the event. With your registration, each athlete declares not to violate the Organic Law 3/2013 either before or during the event, to protect the health of athletes and fight against doping in sport. 1.5. To compete it will be necessary to have a federal license. If no license is available it is necessary to get an accident insurance. 1.6. Athletes must: 1.6.1. Be responsible for their own safety and that of other athletes. 1.6.2. Know and respect the competition rules. 1.6.3. Know the routes. 1.6.4. Obey the instructions of the officials. 1.6.5. Treat other athletes, officials, volunteers and spectators with respect and courtesy. 1.6.6. Avoid using abusive language. 1.6.7. If you are aware of having broken a rule, inform an officer, and if necessary, withdraw from the competition. 1.6.8. Report to an officer if you wish to withdraw from the competition and hand in your chip. 1.6.9. The athlete should follow the correct circuit. 1.6.10. Participants must follow the directions and instructions of the officials and public authorities.

1.6.11. If an athlete decides to retire from the race at any time, it is the responsibility of the participant to inform the information point located at the finish area and deliver your race number and timing chip immediately. It is essential that the organization staff knows at what point in the route the competitors are at all times. 1.6.12. Athletes must show respect for the environment and prevent pollution 1.7. The athlete can swim in the style he/she wants. You can walk or run along the bottom, in the beginning and end, but only before and / or after the signal (float, boat, etc.) indicates the point where the official measurement is marked. The basic principles of the event are fairness and compliance. It is forbidden to seek advantages by breaking these rules. Athletes may not prevent or stop to endanger others or hinder the process of the race. 1.12. Traffic regulations should be checked and the instructions given by the organization, judges and medical staff should be followed. 2. METHODS: 2.1. The swimmer may participate in one or more of the following categories, so long as they are compatible: 2.1.1. Sardina. Prebenjamín: 200 m. (1 lap). 2.1.2. Delfín. Benjamín: 400 m. (1 lap). 2.1.3. Tiburón. Alevín: 800 m. (1 lap). 2.1.4. 1,9K. Infant, Junior and Master: 1900 m. (1 lap).

3. CATEGORIES: 2.1.5. 3,8K. Children Junior and Master: 3800 m. (2 laps). 3.1. For the 1,9K and 3,8K modalities there will be different categories, taking into account the age and gender of the participant: 3.1.1. MALE AND FEMALE CATEGORIES 3.1.1.1. CHILD 1 : amateur swimmers 14-15 years old. (Born between 2001 and 2000). 3.1.1.2. JUNIOR: amateur swimmers 16-19 years old. (Born between 2001 and 1996). 3.1.1.3. MASTER 20-24: amateur swimmers 20-24 years old. (Born between 1995 and 1991). 3.1.1.4. MASTER 25-29: amateur swimmers 25-29 years old. (Born between 1990 and 1986). 3.1.1.5. MASTER 30-34: amateur swimmers 30-34 years old. (Born between 1985 and 1981). 3.1.1.6. MASTER 35-39: amateur swimmers 35-39 years old. (Born between 1980 and 1976). 3.1.1.7. MASTER 40-44: amateur swimmers 40-44 years age. (Born between 1975 and 1971). 3.1.1.8. MASTER 45-49: amateur swimmers 45-49 years old. (Born between 1970 and 1966). 3.1.1.9. MASTER 50-54: amateur swimmers 50-54 years old. (Born between 1965 and 1961). 3.1.1.10. MASTER 55-59: amateur swimmers 55-59 years old. (Born between 1960 and 1956). 3.1.1.11. MASTER 60-64: amateur swimmers 60-64 years old. (Born between 1955 and 1951). 3.1.1.12. MASTER 65-69: amateur swimmers 65-69 years old. (Born between 1950 and 1946). 3.1.1.13. MASTER 70+: amateur swimmers 70 and older. (Born before 1946). 3.1.2. LOWER CATEGORIES 3.1.2.1. Prebenjamin: Swimmers 8-9 years old. (Born between 2006 and 2007).

4. CASH PRIZES 3.1.2.2. BENJAMIN: Swimmers 10 and 11 years old. (Born between 2004 and 2005). 3.1.2.3. ALEVIN: Swimmers 12 and 13 years old. (Born between 2002 and 2003). 4.1. The top 3 in the men's and women's category 1,9K mode will receive the following cash prizes: 4.1.1. 1º Classified: 150 4.1.2. 2º Classified: 100 4.1.3. 3º Classified: 50 4.2. The top 3 in the men's and women's category 3,8K mode will receive the following cash prizes: 4.2.1. 1º Classified: 300 4.2.2. 2º Classified: 200 4.2.3. 3º Classified: 100 4.3. The deadline for collecting the award is from the day after the event until May 23, 2015. The collection address is Sands Beach Resort, located in Avenida Islas Canarias. Canary Islands, 18 in Costa Teguise, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The cash prize will be awarded to the winner, who must show ID or passport. No prizes will be awarded to third parties. 4.4. All prizes carry no tax, thus the tax will be withheld when the prizes are collected. 5. USE OF NEOPRENE 5.1. In the 1,9k and 3,8k categories participants are not allowed to use neoprene if the temperature of the water is greater than 24.5 C. 5.2. In Sardina, Delfín and Tiburón categories it is not allowed to use neoprene if water temperature exceeds 22 C. 5.3. Wetsuits cannot exceed a 5 mm thickness in any part of the wetsuit. If the wetsuit is composed of two parts, the thickness in areas overlapping cannot exceed 5 mm. 5.4. Propulsion devices such as vortex panels or pads on the forearms, creating an advantage for the athlete or risk to others, are prohibited.

5.5. Any material added, except the zipper, which is less flexible than the neoprene and is tailored to the suit itself is prohibited. 5.6. The outermost part of the wetsuit will fit the athlete's body while swimming. 5.7. The wetsuit can cover any part of the body except the face, hands and feet. 5.8. There is no limitation on the length of the zipper. 6. CLOTHING 6.1. Here is a list of clothing that each swimmer could wear during the competition: 6.1.1. Mesh delivered by the organization, the cap cannot be modified in any way. If wearing additional caps, the cap provided by the organization should be covering the rest. 6.1.2. Goggles, mandatory for all swimmers. 6.1.3. Neoprene or swimsuit (I see section USING NEOPRENE). It is forbidden to use two wetsuits. 6.1.4. The timing chip must be worn throughout the race. In case the chip gets loss the swimmer must communicate this fact to the timekeeper at the finish line. The swimmer must pay the value of the lost chip to the timekeeper company if it thinks fit. The chip must be placed on the ankle of the participant. 6.1.5. The dorsal must always be visible on the outside of the right hand of each swimmer. The dorsal will be provided or drawn by members of the organization. 6.1.6. All those electronic devices such as watches, heart rate monitors and GPS aquatic will be allowed with the exception of aquatic music players and / or like. If an athlete violates this rule, the athlete will be disqualified by the judges of the competition. It is possible to be disqualified from the competition by the official judges of the competition if any rule or regulation is violated. 6.2. Equipment not allowed: 6.2.1. Artificial propulsion devices. 2 6.2.2. Floatation Devices. 2 6.2.3. Gloves or socks. 6.2.4. Wetsuit exceeding 5 mm thick.

6.2.5. Only the bottom wetsuit. 6.2.6. Wetsuit when not allowed because of the water temperature. 7. DEPARTURE PROCEDURES 7.1. Each competition must have at least two starts: one for men and one for women. In no case will there be a competition in which men and women are scheduled to start together. 7.2. To access the competition area, athletes must pass through an area where a recount is performed. This place leads only towards the start of the competition area. 7.3. The start is defined by a line marked on the floor. No athlete may cross or exceed this line until the competition has begun. 7.4. Athletes will be grouped in the area consistent with the assigned categories. 7.5. Athletes will be called to the starting area and occupy their starting positions under the direction of the officers. 7.6. Registrations are non-refundable. 10.5. Registration includes: 10.5.1. Right to participate in the event (whenever weather conditions permit). 10.5.2. Accident insurance. 10.5.3. Assistance during and after the test. 10.5.4. Refreshments at the end of the race. 10.5.5. Classification and timing chip. 10.5.6. To collect the documentation (bag, hat, etc..), you must present your ID card or Passport. In the event that a third party will be

The information collected from the various technological tools will serve to assist in the final decision. 11.11. The results in case of a tie will be decided upon by the number of dorsals. 12. PARTICIPATION AND INSURANCE 12.1. All participants that are reported being under optimal health and are aware of any reason why they cannot participate in the competition Sailfish Lanzarote Open Water swimmers therefore agree to participate under their responsibility. 12.2. Participation is suitable for athletes of any nationality, federated or not and born after 2007. Children under 18 must provide permission from their parent or guardian in writing at the time of collecting the cord. No swimmer that is a minor may do any of the crossings without this signed authorization delivered to the organization. 12.3. Under current legislation, the organization hires a liability insurance as well as an accident insurance covering all Participants at all distances.

13. SECURITY 13.1. A security operation both on land and at sea is guaranteed. The day of the competition motor boats and kayaks will cover the swimmers. 13.2. The medical services of the organization shall be authorized to withdraw any participant for medical reasons. 14. AID STATIONS 14.1. The organization will provide a refreshment point for participants at the end of the competition. 15. MODIFICATIONS 15.1. The Organization reserves the right to modify the competition, delay the start or suspend it if, in his opinion, the conditions were dangerous for participants on competition day. If by order of the authorities, force majeure or safety reasons changes should be made to the competition or it is cancelled, the Organizer does not have obligation to indemnify the Participant for damages that the cancellation may cause. 16. PERSONAL DATA 16.1. The organization reports, and you agree that: 16.1.1.
