General Information North Sea Regatta Parking Around the race village there is limited parking available. We urgently request participants and visitors to carpool as much as possible. To prevent towing of incorrectly parked vehicles please be mindful that emergency services require an open passage. North Sea Regatta must be reachable for all emergency services. Parking possibilities - Houtrustweg (Free parking till 18.00) - Parking lot Zuiderstrandtheater (Free parking till 18.00) - Kranenburgweg (free) - Dr. Lelykade (free) - Dr. Lelykade parking lot De Reder (paid parking, limited opening hours) - Dr. Lelykade Gamma Parkeerplaats Apcoa (paid parking, limited opening hours) - Parking lot Houtrust (Free, 10 minuten walk) Parking of keelboat trailers Trailers for small keelboats can be parked at the marina area ( Malherbe ). Alternatively, trailers can be parked on the parking area Houtrustweg, opposite Laan van Poot 18, 2566 EC. Parking of dinghy trailers Trailers for dinghies can be parked on the Hellingweg near the slipway. Other cars or trailers using these reserved spots will be towed.
Accessibility of Hellingweg & Race Village As of May 29th, the Hellingweg and the race village are restricted for participant cars for loading and unloading only. For residents and local companies the Hellingweg will remain unrestricted. On June 1st and 2nd dinghy sailors can bring their boat trailer to one of the reserved spaces near the slipway. Accompanying cars will need to be removed immediately. Crane Facilities Crane facilities, OPPOSED TO OTHER YEARS, will be available on the Marina area Malherbe (Hellingweg). Trailers can be stored on the marina area, but cars will need to be removed immediately. Crane specific operating times: May 30th: 09:00 20:00 May 31st: 08:00 12:30 June 1st: 16:00 21:00 June 2nd: 08:00 10:00 June 4th: 13:00 21:00 Docking Small keelboats will be moored on a temporary dock on the north side of De Pijp. Ferries will be available to take participants from the temporary dock to the Race Village. Ferries will only run a regular service when traffic to and from the boats is likely. All larger yachts will be moored at the Jachtclub Scheveningen or Malherbe marina. Yachts with drafts over 3.90m are requested to contact the harbour office. Dinghies will be positioned on the beach near the slipway or the parking spaces on the Hellingweg next to the slipway. Regatta Office The regatta office will be on the Hellingweg 136, 1st floor. Please note that on May 26th, the Regatta Office is opened only for the Safety Inspection and will then be located in the Harbour Office, Hellingweg 98. This year the method to pay is with cash or card. It is possible to pay both ways in the Sailors Home and the restaurant. All major credit cards are accepted.coins from previous editions will not be accepted during the North Sea Regatta 2017.
Breakfast, lunch and diner possibilities Fresh coffee and croissants, sandwiches and more are available at the Wheely Good Food truck in the morning, outside the Sailors Home. From around 15.00 hrs till 22.00 hrs a small menu is available at the Sailors Bar, including sandwiches, burgers and snacks. On Friday May 2nd a Sailors Dinner will be held at the restaurant. Please make youre reservations via email: hospitality@nsr.nl. Costs are 12,50 pp Toilets and showers Toilets and showers are available at the Jachtclub Scheveningen, Hellingweg 98. This is situated across the main dock. Toilets are also available at the regatta office EHBO / First aid The first aid post is located at the regatta office Cash machine On the terrain of the North Sea Regatta there will be no opportunity to pin extra cash. You can use your card to pay directly for food and/or beverages. The closest Cash machines are located at: Frederik Hendriklaan hoek Statenlaan. Dr.lelykade 68 Waste There are enough waste bins and waste containers on the terrain. We ask you urgently to use these bins, please help us to keep the venue clean! North Sea Regatta activities It is nice for the followers of the Regatta competitors (partners, friends, family etc.) to follow the entire event from the beach. The boats that will compete are well visible during the time they set sail and come back in, especially from the piers you have a good view. The North Sea Regatta invited the Optimist on Tour to give young children the opportunity to become acquainted with sailing. The lessons next to the slipway are organized in association with the Zoute Optimist, the municipality The Hague and the Watersportverbond. Every lesson takes 1 ¼ hour. The first two days are booked for primary schools in The Hague. The last day, Saturday 3rd June children are free to join the Optimist on Tour. Everyone between the age of 8 and 12 years old and has the ability to swim, is free to join the Optimist on Tour. You can sign up by sending a mail to this account: optimistontour@watersportverbond.nl. Mention the name and best time for the lesson you want to sign up to. The Optimist on Tour will be at the slipway during the North Sea Regatta on the following dates: Thursday 1st of June: 09:00 till 19.00 Friday 2 nd of June: 09:00 till 19.00 Saturday 3rd of June: 09:00 till 19.00 You can also sign up on location, but there is a chance you have to wait until the next round.
