The finish area: Polana Jakuszycka Start area regulations The participants choose sectors using the bib numbers they are assigned. Every participant must go through the controller inspection when entering the start box. The participants cannot start racing using a sector different than the one assigned at the beginning. Omitting the controller inspection or using a sector different than the one assigned at the beginning will result in disqualifying the participant. The entrance to start boxes will be closed 10 minutes before the planned start of the race. During all race the start will be based on the following rule: the first wave of 200 skiers will be followed by the next wave every 1,5 minute (if it is a classical style race) and every minute if it is a freestyle race. Start procedures of all races will be Le Mans start, combination of Wave Start, with 5 minutes time gap, and method of start, where competitors are held in groups in waiting area, with skis in hand before the start. Each start group will consist 100 competitors, after start of the first group of competitors and 5 minutes time gap, second start group is allowed to start and so on.

Disabled participants start the race 10 minutes before the participants of the first starting wave and netto time is measured. Skiers who choose a freestyle race must follow a classical style for the first 50 m. Changing the style will result in disqualifying the participant (the start of the race will be recorded). On our freestyle courses there will be one classical style track set. The time of the race of all participants from sector one will be measured when the first participant of this sector passes the finish line. This is brutto time. When it comes to skiers from other sectors we measure their individual time -from the moment when they pass the startline to the finish-this is netto time. Assigning bib numbers Your bib number and at the same time your start place depends on: the result you achieved at the same distance during the previous Bieg Piastów; documented results achieved in the previous season (2012/2013) in other Worldloppet races, In case of unclear situations the organizer may take into account the information about the documented achievements included in the participant s entry form: results he/she achieved at the same distance in the previous editions of the Bieg Piastów, results he/she achieved at a different distance in the previous editions of the Bieg Piastów, When a skier does not include any information in his/her participant s entry form we can use to assign him/her a bib number, he/she will be considered as a first-time contestant. The unofficial start list will be published on February 10 th,2014. February of 17th 2014 Participants have three days to make a complaint. After that time the complaints will not be accepted. Participants who take part in the FIS Marathon Cup will have their start bibs assigned using a separate regulation. FIS Marathon Cup is cancelled. On course conduct The competition is carried out in accordance with the FIS International Ski Competition Rules Cross Country and FIS Guide for TD/OC of Long Distance Popular Cross Country.

The participants : must follow the course from the start to the finish and go through all the checkpoints, mustn t get in the way and disturb other participants, mustn t make it difficult for faster skiers to overtake slower ones. Slower participants should use the right side of the course while the faster ones should take the left side of the course, should follow the style of the races changing the style during the competition will result in disqualifying the participant. During the race the participants cannot change their skis if they are not damaged. Changing them during the race will result in disqualifying the participant. If the skis are damaged they should be replaced at the service point on the course. The damaged ski should be left there as well. There will be check-points on the ski course. The OC staff will write down the participants bibs in order to verify the distance they have covered. Staying on the track without a valid bibs is forbidden. Anyone withou it will be removed from the course of the 38 th Bieg Piastów by the OC staff. Route marking We will use the following colours to mark races at different distances: 50-km classical style race red 26-km classical style race green 30-km freestyle race blue 15-km classical style race -yellow Food and drink service Food and drink service will be available on the courses according to the following plan: 50-km classical style-around the 11 th km,18 th km,30 th km,37 th km (only drinks),40 th km, at the finish line 26-km classical style-around the 11 th km,18 th km, at the finish line 30-km freestyle-around the 7 th km,17 th km, at the finish line 15km-classical style- around the 7 th km, at the finish line.

Time limit Distances of 50-km CT, 26-km CT and 30-km FT have a strict time limit. After 17.30 the participants will not be ranked. Distances of 15km CT have a strict time limit. After 15.00 the participants will not be ranked. Distances of 50-km CT, 26-km CT and 30-km FT have a strict time limit. After 14.00 the participants will not be ranked. In case a participant is not able to finish the race If a participant is not able or does not want to finish the race he/she should inform the staff of the Bieg Piastów and follow their instructions. Changing rooms Every participant can use a free changing room. In his/her package along with a bib he/she will also receive a bag with a bib sticker. Bags will be available in changing rooms. The bag marked with a bib sticker can be left in an appropriate changing room deposite (according to the start sectors). Every participant can take his stuff back at any time after the race. The bags with the contestants belongings left at the starting line will be delivered to the changing rooms deposite where they can pick them up after the race. The organize assumes no responsibility for the stuff left in the changing room. Prize- giving ceremony Prize- giving ceremony of the different races will take place according to the timetable available on the organizer s website: www.bieg-piastow.pl Finish line regulations A participant who passes the finish line undergoes the chip inspection-the chip is removed. Every skier who crosses the finish line receives a commemorative medal. The best ten woman and man participants get a medal with the information about their rank and the time of price- giving ceremony. They are obliged to be present near the place of price- giving ceremony 10 minutes before the ceremony starts. Protests

Protests should have a written form and should be submitted in one of those languages: Polish, English or German. Proof must be submitted and any evidence must be included. A deposit of 300 PLN should be attached to the protest. This deposit will be returned if the protest is upheld. Otherwise it goes to the account of the OC. The time for the submitting protest is 15 minutes after publishing the unofficial results of the races placed on the official notice board near the Bieg Piastow. Written protests should be delivered to the race office of the Bieg Piastów. 7. Participation Every person who is 18 years of age March 1st 2014 can participate in a 50-km classical style race. The participant must pay an entry fee and sign a declaration in the office of the Bieg Piastów of taking a part in the race on their own responsibility according to the regulation of the Minister of Education and Sport of September 12 th 2001.(Statute Book, no 101, chapter 1095). Every person who is 18 years of age by February 28 th 2014 and signs a declaration of taking part in the race on their own responsibility can participate in the races at the distance of 15km(CT), 26km(CT) and 30km(FT). If you are 16 years of age by February 28 th 2014,you are obliged to have a signed parents or a legal guardian s permit for taking part in the competition. The same obligation are in use for 14 years old participant, who want to part in 15km CT race. The permit should also contain the national identification number of your parent or a legal guardian. If you want to take part in the race your parent or a legal guardian (with his/her ID ) must be present when we verify the participants identity in the office of the Bieg Piastów. Taking part in the race means that participants agree to have their personal data processed and their image used by The Bieg Piastów Association in publications, for television, radio and internet broadcasts. In case of bad weather conditions the organizer reserves the right to change or shorten the distance. In case of the races for different professional groups a separate regulation is used.

8. Entry fees Worldloppet Ski Races (50kmCT, 26kmCT, 30FT): from 01.05.2013. to 31.05.2013.-75PLN from 01.06.2013. to 15.12.2013.-100PLN from 16.12.2013. to 15.01.2014.-150PLN from 16.01.2014.-31.01.2014.-200PLN A skier taking part in two Worldloppet Ski Races pays 75% of the price for the second race. Race 15km CT from 01.05.2013. to 31.05.2013.-50 PLN from 01.06.2013. to 15.12.201.-60 PLN from 16.12.2013. to 15.01.2014.-70PLN from 16.01.2014.-31.01.2014.-80 PLN The first through tenth place finishers of the 37 th Bieg Piastów (at a specific distance) don t pay an entry fee for the run at the same distance during the 38 th Bieg Piastów. Paying an entry fee without registration(by registration we mean filling in a paper participant entry form or making a registration online) does not mean that you have registered for the race. Once you have registered,there are7 days to pay an entry fee. Not paying the entry fee means that you will be excluded from the participants list. VAT invoice for bank transfer payments will be issued on your request up to 7 days after receiving a notification that the payment was made into our bank account. The VAT invoice can be issued only to participants who have made a payment by bank transfer after providing us with their accurate personal details. Entry fees can be paid in the office of the Bieg Piastów Association. You can also make a postal payment or make a payment by bank transfer. The entry fee includes a bib number, commemorative Bieg Piastów pin, brochure, commemorative medal, meals during the race and at the finish line, using the changing room before and after the race, professional medical care, accident insurance, free shuttle busses from Szklarska Poręba to Polana Jakuszycka, the results and an electronic diploma. NOTICE!!! It is not possible to transfer your entry fee to another participant. In case you withdraw from the race and decide not to take part in it your entry fee is not refundable and it will not transfer to the next year s event. In case you withdraw from the race and decide not to take part in it till February of 21 st 2014 till 8.00 am, there is possibility to transfer your entry fee to 39 th Bieg Piastów 2015. (please let us know by mailing to zawodnicy@bieg-piastow.pl ) Participants registration for the 38 th Bieg Piastów starts on 01.05.2013. The paper and online registration form must be filled out correctly-all fields are necessary. You must also pay an entry fee. Both filling in the form and paying the entry fee is necessary to consider your registration as valid. The organiser does not bear the responsibility for incomplete and improperly filled registration forms. The registration form without a participant s signature is considered as not valid. Participants can change data in our data system (for example the distance they choose) until 31.01.2014. after making a payment of 20 PLN. NOTE!!! The registration is open until 31.01.2014. Registrations will be accepted until 31.01.2014. or when the participants list has a limited number of skiers. The organiser reserves the right to close the start list earlier. Telephone registrations will not be accepted. There is a limit to the number of participants who can take part in our races. They are as follows: 15km classical style race CT-1500 persons 50km classical style race CT-2500 persons

26km classical style race CT-2500 persons 30km freestyle race FT-600 persons 9. Bib numbers distribution You can collect your bib number from February 21 nd to March 1 st 2014 from 9.00a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Start Bib Distribution in Jakuszyce Cross- Country Skiing-Centre,58-580 Szklarska Por ęba- Jakuszyce. You can do it also on March 2 nd (Sunday) from 8.30a.m. to 11.00a.m. in Start Bib Distribution Office in Jakuszyce Cross- Country Skiing-Centre,58-580 Szklarska Por ęba- Jakuszyce. You can collect your bib number from February 25 th till March 1 st 2014 from 8.30 a.m. to 6. 00 p.m. in the Start Bib Distribution in Jakuszyce Hotel Biathlon, first floor 58-580 Szklarska Poręba- Jakuszyce. You can do it also on March 2 nd (Sunday) from 8.30 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. in Start Bib Distribution Office in Jakuszyce -Hotel Biathlon,58-580 Szklarska Poręba- Jakuszyce. In case you want to collect a bib for somebody else (a family relative, friend) you should present your ID, complete a declaration and sign it illegibly. The organizer reserves the right to change the venue and time of handing out the bibs. In case of any change, the information will be available on our website www.bieg-piastow.pl 10. Classyfications and Prizes. Classifications General classification woman and men. W 60 (1954-1945) W 70 (1944 and older) M 60 (1954-1945) M 70 (1944 and older) Prizes Financial prizes: for the first six woman and man participants in the main race at a distance of 50-km CT. Cups and trophies for first six ladies and for first six men on main 50 km CT distance. Other prizes: for the participant, who get 1-3 places in ages category woman and man of the 50-kmCT, Other prizes: for the participant, who get 1-3 places in ages category woman and man of the 15km CT, 26km CT, 30km FT Participant, who get the prices in open category woman and man, will not get prices one more time in ages category Sport s trophy: for the first three woman and man participants in ages category All financial prizes will paid in EUR or CHE. The prizes will be paid electronically a week after the last race takes place at the latest. The exception to this, is the delay caused by providing us with incorrect or incomplete personal details which are necessary to make a bank draft. All financial prizes will be paid after tax deducting. When places ex-aequo are awarded both prizes will be summed up, then divided and each participant will receive 50% of it. In case a participant is not present at the prize- giving ceremony or is late for it he/she will not receive the prize. If it is the financial prize it will be reduced by 20%. The place and time of prize- giving ceremony of races for different professional groups is based on a separate regulation. 11. Results

Unofficial results are valid until the winners of the different races are decorated. At this time (at the time of prize- giving ceremony) we accept all kinds of protests and objections. After the ceremony the unofficial results of the decorated winners are considered as valid. 12. Accommodation The organizer does not provide the participants with accommodation. Transport We provide the participants of the 38 th Bieg Piastów with a free shuttle busses from February 28 th to March 2 nd 2014 on the bus line Szklarska Poręba Jakuszyce- Szklarska Poręba. Final decisions The final and effective interpretation of the regulations lies with the organizer of the 38 th Bieg Piastów In individual case the organizer reserves the right to allow for a competition participant, who does not fulfill the conditions set in paragraph 7. The organizer reserves the right to change the regulation without any reason.
