Swimming is known as one of the fastest, most suspenseful, exciting and pressure-filled competitions held in the United States and Katy Aquatics is honored to have Cameron represent our team at the Olympic Trials! Cameron attends Seven Lakes High School and will be a sophomore for the upcoming 2011/2012 academic school year. She made top 3 at High School State in the 500 free last year, and is also a Junior National Qualifier, Senior National Qualifier, and a 2012 Olympic Trials Qualifier in the 200 meter Backstroke. Cameron holds several Katy Aquatics team records ranging from ages 10 and under to open.

As we wind down the summer and wait for Fall Swim Practice to begin, four of our very own athletes are preparing to swim forward into new adventures that lie ahead of them. Each Senior that is leaving the Katy Aquatics team has trained hard, developed technical skills, and overcame challenges both in the pool and out of the pool. As a farewell to Katy Aquatics, each Senior was asked to share their experience with the team in three questions before they start on their future endeavors 1. What did you like most about being a part of Katy Aquatics? 2. What is your favorite memory of Katy Aquatics? 3. What kind of future plans are you making for yourself after leaving Katy Aquatics? Their responses were as follows: Ashton Bishop (Katy High School) 1. Best Part about Being in Katy Aquatics Katy Aquatics enabled me to make friends with swimmers from all the high schools in Katy and all over the state. It also gave me a window of opportunity to compete with talent from all over the United States. 2. Favorite Memory I have not one, but many amazing memories from being in Katy Aquatics. Most of them consist of having fun with my teammates at practice and at meets. 3. Future Plans Four Katy Aquatics Seniors turned in their Swim Caps for Graduation Caps! Katy Aquatics has prepared me to be able to get a great education by accepting a swimming scholarship to a Division 1 university, The University of Evansville in Indiana. This opportunity will allow me to pursue a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. After college I plan to follow up on my lifelong dream of becoming a part of the U.S.S.O.C.M. (Military Special Forces). Ashton Bishop 2011 Katy Aquatics Senior A&M Short Course Sectionals

Anne Steele (2011 Senior) swimming the 100 Fly in Short Course Sectionals. Anne Steele (Seven Lakes High School) 1. Best Part about Being in Katy Aquatics I'm grateful for how flexible Katy Aquatics and Troy were, for having a schedule that allowed me to pursue other interests such as my school newspaper among others, as well as recover from injuries. In a tough academic environment like Katy, having a program that gives swimmers the ability to meet their individual goals both in and out of the pool was key. Furthermore, the two-way dialogue between my high school and club coach has allowed me to thrive in both. 2. Favorite Memory My first TAGS. When I first moved to Katy almost 6 years ago, I was a scared little 7th grader who didn't know anybody. The group I was put in welcomed me with open arms, and swimming with such an inviting and motivated group encouraged me to push my limits without even realizing it. When TAGS swung around, it was cool to see months of training peak successfully - and it was only my first year in Texas. 3. Future Plans I will be attending Columbia University in the fall, where I will be swimming for their team and pursuing a pre-law academic track.

Four Katy Aquatics Seniors turned in their Swim Caps for Graduation Caps! (continued) Lauren Sutton (Cinco Ranch High School) 1. Best Part about Being in Katy Aquatics The thing I liked most about being on Katy Aquatics is being a part of a community of people that share the same interest in the sport as me. It helps having a great group of friends and coaches there to motivate me in workouts and at meets. I love and respect every person that I have met at Katy Aquatics. 2. Favorite Memory My favorite memories are all the swim meets. I can't remember one meet where I didn't have a fun time, even if I was having a terrible meet. I know me and my close friends would jam out and dance to the music playing on our ipods. 3. Future Plans I am attending Henderson State University, where I will be a part of the Lady Red Wave swim team. I'm studying early childhood education with a dual major in ESL and minor in psychology. I can't wait to be a part of the swim team and accomplish my newly set goals! Thank you Katy Aquatics for helping me in my swimming and being such a great part of my life for the past 8 years. Katy Aquatics also wants to announce that Kim Devine, a Senior at Seven Lakes High School is excited to attend Texas A&M at Galveston in the fall. Kim was the Assistant Coach for the Seven Meadows Summer League Team this summer and Katy Aquatics wishes her well on all of her future plans! Congratulations again to all our Seniors and Thank You for being a part of Katy Aquatics You ll be greatly missed, but always be remembered and expected to come back and visit!!! Sincerely, Coach Troy and the Katy Aquatics Coaching Staff For Swimmers Only
