I have learnt a lot and have realised that it s a team effort and that everybody needs to communicate well and maintain enthusiasm through out the year. For those that stepped away from the committee last year a very special thank you, for your efforts through out 2016; that is Linda McBrierty, Nola Williams, Doug Minchin and Lyn Hazlett. This year, 2017, I would like to welcome aboard our new committee members Janis Haswell, Di Cook and Terry Brookes. Welcome. Also our existing committee members Vanessa Meeting 1 Page 1 of 7

Powell, Ed Jennings, Louise Donnan and Marion Bradshaw welcome. Planning for this upcoming year has already started with our tournament dates set in place. We have learnt from last year that we need to follow a time line/critical path in our preparations for 2017. I feel, this year, our committee need to formalise our roles to make everything flow and take some pressure off Marion in doing too much. I believe we have a strong, experienced committee who will be very pro- active and fun. Which will make this year a great success. Regards Phil Bradshaw Treasurer s Report No income for this year. Balance $5878.90 + term deposit Consider new signature for the account. Louise look into procedure to get new signatory for the account Tournaments Spring Teams report 19-20 November 2016 This year, with 69 entrants, while not our biggest was a definite improvement on last year. Considering 5 withdrew during the week before, 1 the day before and 2 on Saturday, the numbers were excellent. We were able to have 4 divisions of four teams with 3 players in each, and one division of 4 players per team. Our usual format of commencing at 1pm on Saturday with one match played and continuing on Sunday from 10am with a further two matches, all consisting of 3 games played with Hand in hand out scoring, was appreciated by all. Quite a number of entrants were not only new to Masters but had never played either pennants or a tournament in WA. This made putting fair divisions together rather difficult, as we had no player history to rely on. Four actual teams were entered, with the remaining being individual entries. In some cases the teams were difficult to place due to the vast abilities of the three players. There were a couple of whinges but when the situation was explained, the reasons were accepted. The tournament ran very smoothly. The atmosphere throughout was tremendous. The Squash Factory provided an excellent venue, with players and spectators able to watch great matches while eating, drinking and socialising. The canteen, run by Sue Cowell and the Blakey family, provided excellent food and the platters after presentation were well received. We had two raffles running, one to raise funds for the juniors, and the other for Masters. Both, thanks to the generosity of Masters Players, were well supported. As usual the tournament ran very smoothly, thanks to the input from the Masters Committee members and other volunteers. The friendly enjoyable atmosphere each year makes this one of the easiest tournaments to organise and run. The Masters AGM was held after play on the Saturday a new concept which proved very successful. Thanks, as always, must go to Ron Clayton and Brian Roby for their Autodraw assistance. Regards Ed and Linda Tournament directors Meeting 1 Page 2 of 7
