They set out on each drive with as much enthusiasm and excitement as when the dusty roads leading into secret vast hideaways were still foreign. We ve now fully adopted Marataba into our family of properties, and are so proud of how far She has come. MARA TABA TRAILS LODGE Marataba Trails Lodge was designed for those who appreciate being on foot. Perched on the side of the mountain, with 180degree views into Waterfall Valley, it is utterly remote and in a wilderness world of its own for never more than 8 guests at a time. Morning and afternoon walking trails depart from the Lodge each day, with the option of enjoying a full-day hike and picnic in winter. A number of hikes are available including Riverine, Gorge, Mountain and Interest Trails. The level of difficulty is dependent on the disposition of walkers. Guests may also choose to enjoy an afternoon game drive on the Marataba Reserve, or water safari on board Miss Mara after a long morning s walk.
