Report from the second race 2015 in Mülheim Last weekend the LMP Pro Series gave their debut at SlotRacing Mülheim.18 teams fought for the places, again in a superior, friendly and respectful atmosphere which built the base for the ongoing success of the LMP Pro Series. On thursday the preparation of the track and rooms of the club was done, followed by some laps on the cleaned track. On friday the teams came up hesistant because of the huge traffic around Mülheim. Finally each team made it in time and was able to do some free practice and work out a setup. Handout of Material and Warm-up was done without problems. The technical inspection worked way better than the first event of Swisttal, altough there is still room for improvement. Simple things like track width or ground clearance should be no problem for almost every team, especially when the inspection sheet is used properly. Just for everybodies information: The announced penalties will be really executed at the third event in Trier. Qualification was done on lane 2, after reversed championship standings. The first 12 places earned qualification points so there was no room for tactical games. All teams tried to be as fast as possible. There were some surprises in the qualification: Jäger Team finished just in 9th place. Sloefspeed - with the 3rd place in Swisttal also a favourite team - just in 11th place. On the other hand, the two Mülheim teams made it in 7th and 8th position and displaced some other favourite teams with their performance. Biggest surprise was Team Blues Brothers who were only beaten by PQ1. Again there was also a pricegiving-ceremony for Concours and Man of Speed. In Concours judging, the beautiful Rebellion built by Ron made it against the Porsche 919 of Fola. The Man of Speed Contest was driven out at the Carrera track. Again, there were many fast guys at the table like Ralph Seif and Hendrik Behrens but this time, Marco Wesseling was able to make it.

Position Total 18 Team Real Car Modell Team Need more Speed Marcel Czibulinski Peter Kaps New car but again lots of trouble for newbie Marcel. Big applause for him that he did not gave up no matter which problems occure: His team mate just let him down after friday without information. A clear no-go in our opinion! Luckily Peter Kaps filled the gap altough it was his first race with these cars. Compliment! So it was a consolation that Marcels car (body built by Ron) took the concours trophy. 17 Nighthawks Matze Herrrero Bob Clark Team Nighthawks did a lot of work before the race, with a even more beautiful and lighter body. Race without too much problems but a lack of track knowledge prevented more. In Trier it will be a home game for them and they should be good for top 10!? Jäger Team 16 Joachim Welsch Ralph Seif Yannick Horn Ralph built a very fast car which showed 6,8s times in row during the practice sessions. But again they were fighting against homemade problems as well as a huge portion of bad luck. So this time there was no fourious comeback as shown in Swisttal. But they also have a homegame in Trier and can be called the favourites there with no doubt!

15 Schnura Racing Axel Schnura James Botteri-Lane First race for Axel Schnura who built body and chassis. James from the Mülheim club came up as his last minute team mate. Great 10th place in qualification but unfortunately the car was slowing down in the race after heat 1. Nevertheless good premiere! Sloefspeed 2 14 Dirk Baele Patrick Huegens Quinten Vanspauwen Raymond as the engineer of both teams was there at the practice sessions and did a lot of work. The performance was good but the car seemed to be too nervous for the race. So they changed setup immediately after the start and were then able to fight back -in fact in 9th place at heat 3 - but more than a 14th overall place was not possible this time. 13 SRCB P&R Pierre Bernard Robert Massart The track was also complete new territory for SRCB. With a consistent performance, a top 10 result seemed possible until the pinion began to make ominous noises and lose its teeth. Three minutes before checkered flag the race was already over for them. Poor luck for them but they can be optimistic for Trier!

Dr. Slot 12 André Bartelmes Martin Bartelmes Andreas Buldt Michael as the third man of this team is still having some physical issues and had to be substituted by Andreas from Mülheim. Very consistent result with a 12th place in qualification and race for the first race in Swisttal as well as for the second race in Mülheim. At the third event in Trier this is another team to have home advantage, so an improvement will be more than realistic. Even though Martin has to manage the situation as a driver as well as the host of this event. SG Stern Slotfabrik 11 Fola Osu Luke Michels Stefan Kuhn From the very first meters the car was performant and consistent, but that small gap to the top couldn`t be filled. Luke was able to put them in the first group though. In the race they were not able to follow the pace of this group but a top 10 result seemed more then realistic, until a broken light system upset this. Nevertheless there was an improvement in overall ranking to 4th place, because RLR did not race the second event and Jäger Team had more bad luck than one team can usually have. 10 Slot 4000 Didier Awouters Jean-Christophe Job Didier and Jean-Christophe are, as seen in Swisttal, damn fast drivers! Top 6 in Swisttal and a 5th place in qualification in Mülheim, wow! Unfortunately a problem in the first heat put them back to 17th place but with the expected performance in heat 2 (6th) and 3 (7th) they were able to make this remarkable top ten result on a foreign track.

Slotgear 9 Lars Jacobsen Soren Thomsen Per Moller One week before the race they drove the Proslot motor for the very first time! Those three guys know how to drive an endurance race: Fast, close to the own limit and the limit of the car but not going over the top, consistent and at the end, there is a more than well done and deserved 9th place. Congrats, Lars, Per and Soren! WC Racing 8 Daniel Waxweiler Michael Moes The car performed well in the free practice session and also two weeks ago at the official test day. Then the qualification was a killer for them with a 18th place as result. Altough they kept fighting and finished in a nice 8th place. If everything is going as planned, they will be opponents again in Trier: Michael is driving usually for Rhein-Erft Racing together with Marcus Hasse. ;-) 7 Team Hobby 2000 Didier Ronvaux Gilles Dohogne We still remember the qualification in Swisttal: 6,9s on lane 6, the only one under 7 seconds! Also in Mülheim they easily qualified for the fastest group and fighted for 3rd place until sunday morning. But suddenly the car lost performance and fast laps were not possible anymore. This team has nearly the same amount of bad luck as Jäger and we press thumbs that they are going to have a perfect race in Trier, they deserve it!

6 Sloefspeed 1 Björn vancampenhout Gregory Albrecht To get the most out of the race circumstances and the cars performance, thats what we call professional! 11th place in qualification, sure not what they expected after their glorious season opening in Swisttal. Then they got dirt in the drivetrain at the beginning of the race and were put nearly to the end of the field. But they kept fighting as if their lives were at stake, with a 2nd place in the sunday heat! That was a great team performance and with the 6th place they were able to keep the 3rd place in championship standings.chapeau! SRC Mülheim 1 5 Johannes Rhode Hendrik Behrens Holger Schuth In Swisttal they finished in last position due to a technical issue. But we expected this team to use their home advantage and they did. Altough there has been even more possible, a 5th place is more than respectable. Hendrik designed a new chassis for the race which seemed to work fine and held out the exertions of the race. They way the technical inspection was countered leaves some room for improvement, everything else was already a great improvement. Well done! SRC Mülheim 2 4 Norbert Kelker Thomas Reich Bernd Zeptner Three Home-Ascaris and the offer to get a complete built ready-to-race car for this event just days before the race... The result is formidable, a 4th place with an absolute great, consistent and flawless performance they managed to keep many top teams behind them. They just wanted to have a good time, but beat Mülheim 1, this is screaming for a revenge in Trier! Interesting fact is that the drove the first and second heat with maximum weight and changed to minimum weight for the third heat.

Bluesbrothers 3 Michael Lukats Reiner Barm Christian Letzner They could be good enough for a surprise was heared several times prior to the race. But this was more than just a surprise! The race car was just tested with practice body weeks ago and only ran 10 laps in race configuration before it was put back into the box. Thats what we call self confidence! For good reason, because during qualification Christian was already burning a 6,92s for the startlap into the wood. This performance was held up throughout the whole race, no mistakes, great lap times. That package could only lead to a place at the top of the field. 3rd place, absolutely great and well done! 2 Plastikquäler 2 Kai-Ole Stracke Konstantin Müller In Swisttal the young guns made some small mistakes and still had to learn. But in Mülheim, the pace was already another. The complete setup was already done at the testing days so they had enough time to help Sebastian and Joachim with organizing the race. Thanks guys! 3rd place in qualification and with fast and flawless performance a great 2nd place in the race was the well deserved result and we all wait for the day they will beat PQ1 for the first time. 1 Plastikquäler Sebastian Nockemann Marco Wesseling They already won Swisttal with a professional performance but not the fastest car. Everyone who knows Sebastian even knows that this is not what he wants... So the tests before the race seemed to be successful. Sebastian was full of self confidence and if that is the case, the result often is like this:1st in quali, heat 1, heat 2, heat 3! Congrats to PQ, but for Trier the cards will be reshuffled. Sebastian is the only one who knows the track in Trier, so some teams dare to beat PQ, all leaded by Jäger Team! :-)

There was a livticker during the race which can also still be seen: https://www.facebook.com/lmpproseriesliveticker Additional to the Facebook group here you can find even more pics: https://picasaweb.google.com/101875146379915280378 We are looking forward to see you all in Trier! Kind regards, Joachim, Gerd und Sebastian
