Chadderton Park F.C Newsletter Spring 2012 03/03/2012 Chadderton Park FC 1

Welcome Welcome to the Spring 2012 edition of the Club s Newsletter. And as I write this I would like to highlight to you all that I have spent the day at Cape Canaveral watching the Atlas 5 Satellite launched into space!!! The satellite is not the only thing that feels like it is entering a new world but our football club is also going in the same direction, and it is with this in mind that I would like to appeal to everyone associated with this magnificent club. As the Club grows so do the number of tasks needed to make sure the Club runs efficiently and smoothly. With Howard Pilling and Steve Lynch stepping down it has become obvious just how much work needs to be done to keep on top of everything. Watching the children train and play is great as a parent and this is where most enjoyment comes from but without the organisation behind the teams and club we would not be able to provide the platform for the children to perform on. So if you think you can contribute in any way please get involved, the more people that are willing to help lightens the load and makes organising the teams and the club that much more enjoyable. Whether it is helping with team finances collection of subs, setting up of goalposts for games, or wanting to be active on the committee side that please get involved. As well as contributing to the running of the teams and success of the club there is a great social side to it also.so come along and speak to your team coach or any committee member who will welcome you onboard. We look forward to hearing from you! Ian Stevenson 03/03/2012 Chadderton Park FC 2

Chairman's Address STEVE STEPS DOWN Steve Lynch has reluctantly taken the decision to step down as Club Secretary due to ill health. After taking over as Club Secretary in 2004 the club has gone from strength to strength thanks to Steve s drive and determination. Steve has been involved with the club for over 10 years and like many began as a parent watching his son Mark progress from mini soccer through the age groups to Under 18 level. Always willing to step in and help where necessary Steve has made sure that the club have explored and taken advantage of all possible ways to improve and make sure the children benefit from these improvements. This has seen Chadderton Park FC become one of the strongest clubs in the North West with a phenomenal growth rate. From the outset we decided that we would push for a Football for all policy for children of all abilities.this has been reflected over the years and expanded with Steve initiative to introduce girl s football. It is because of these initiatives and dedication that we have been able to achieve Charter Standard Community status, the highest available to an amateur club. So it is with a feeling of great sadness that Steve is stepping down but also one of great achievement that I am sure we would not have reached without Steve s ideas/commitment and dedication. Not forgetting that Steve s work has been fantastically supported by his wife Mary who has been extremely active with the running of the girls football and the club in general. Steve has not only been Club Secretary but also coach/manager and team secretary. He has also been a referee on many occasions and shall we just say some of those occasions have been memorable!! I have been lucky enough to share Steve s time at the club from the beginning and so glad he took my invitation to become Secretary to just book the pitches and that s it Well he did book the pitches and a whole lot more than that and on behalf of everybody involved with the Club I would like to thank Steve and give him our best wishes during his illness and wish him a speedy recovery. Frank Nolan Chairman 03/03/2012 Chadderton Park FC 3

General News Update Chaddy Park Yellow and Green Don t forget that we are recycling boots/shinpads etc. at Chaddy Fold. We now have boots in many sizes. Children grow so quickly that they go from one size to the next in a flash and the boots are hardly worn. So rather than waste them we are recycling them for all to use. Don t forget any used boots take them to the Fold and have a look what's there. Anyone Know a Super Mario Well not exactly Super Mario but we need some help with a few plumbing issues at the Chaddy fold changing rooms and wondered if there is any qualified registered plumbers who may be able to give us a hand. If so please contact team manager or any of the contacts at the back and let us know. Any help is much appreciated. Olympic Fever WATCH OUT LONDON! CHADDERTON PARK FC MINI OLYMPICS COMING SOON Over the next few months the build up to the 2012 Olympic games will gather pace, and In the build up to the games the Olympic torch will be carried through Oldham and a number of events have been planned by Oldham council and business s to celebrate. Chadderton Park FC will be hosting our first ever Mini Olympics on this years Fun Day At Chaddy Fold. As many events as possible will be covered and all the children encouraged to take part and compete in the fun events. As it is for the mini soccer teams aged 5-10s we don t think we will be including the Marathon but we will have some great events for all to enjoy. As of today we have not yet been approached by Adidas, Reebok, McDonalds, Panasonic or any other potential sponsors. So look out for further details on the website and via your team manager. Watch out London, Chaddy Park FC mini Olympics come first!! 03/03/2012 Chadderton Park FC 4

Around the Ages Under 8 s Welcome To all the players and parents of the Lions who have joined the Under 8 s for their first ever season. After a challenging opening to the 2011-2012 season, the performances seen during the recent festival are evidence of how far they have developed. A big thank you as well to Andy and Carole from Zig Zag Hair designs for sponsoring their kit this season. Secondly thanks to all those who helped make the festival the great success that it was. We got fantastic feedback from all the clubs that took part which is brilliant publicity for the club. Importantly we also had free football for all our 5 teams, we raised approx 240 for club funds and also got a new set of mini soccer goals. New Kit Sponsors As many of you will be aware our current kit is near the end of its life. We were very fortunate last time to get one sponsor for all 40 boys. I doubt we will be as lucky this time. We have 4 teams that require a new kit for next season -Dragons, Griffins, Eagles, Phoenix. The cost per team is approximately 325 for a full kit including sponsorship printing. If anyone is in a position to assist with sponsorship or knows someone who can please let me know. I would ideally like to have our new kits for the Cleethorpes tournament in June 03/03/2012 Chadderton Park FC 7

Around the Ages Under 6 s Under 6s play Sale Utd at Man Utd's Carrington Our new under 6's have just had a great evening at Man Utd's Carrington training ground They played against Sale Utd whom we have come close to over the past few years. The event was a huge success with Players, Parents and Coaches all excited by their first away event Under 6 - Winter League Success The new Under 6 teams have enjoyed playing in the Winter League organised by the Junior Soccer League during November January. All the teams from Chadderton Park that participated gained some great experience by playing in the competitive matches against teams from around the county with a few of the youngsters gaining interest from some of the local academies. Under 6 Sponsorship With any new team, the greatest investment other than the Winter training facilities is the new kit at the start of the season, and it is with this in mind that the Under 6 s would like to thank the following local businesses who have already committed their investment in some of our teams for the following 2 years:- Wolfendale Transport Pama & Co Patterson & Rothwell If you know of any local business willing to get involved then please contact me via email:- ians@chaddypark.co.uk 03/03/2012 Chadderton Park FC 8

It Could Be You Club Lottery Keeping the Fees down! Chadderton Park runs a monthly lottery draw where you pay 4.00 a month and have the chance of winning 100.00 We would ideally like to get more parents involved, especially ones from the younger age groups who are new to the club. If we get All parents to get involved and invest the 4.00 a month then this will allow us to keep the monthly Fees the same and not have to consider an increase in fees. The great thing is that with the additional 4.00 you have the opportunity to win if your Lottery number gets drawn. For more information on how to do this then please ask your coach as not only is it a fun thing to do, but also allows the club to keep the subs to a minimum and what a great way to invest when there's a chance you could win 100!!!! Any further information then please contact Terry Jenning on terry@chaddypark.co.uk 03/03/2012 Chadderton Park FC 12
