Introduction of the program aiming to reduce footway parking in the city centre Measure concentrates on identification and liquidation of some parking places in the city centre, in combination with new parking lots (underground) First implementation: opening of the underground parking lot next to the National Museum for 150 cars Parking was opened on 20th of November 2014 and remained free of charge till 1st of February 2015 Renewed public space in front of the museum new surface, lighting, small architecture, green areas, etc. 11
Introduction of the program aiming to reduce footway parking in the city centre Charges have been introduced from 1st of February: First hour cost is 3 PLN (same as on-street parking) Second and next hours 4 PLN (street 3,50; 4,10; 3,00 ) Subsriptions available (24h, week, month) Regulations approved by City Council Same day ca. 200 parking spaces were banned on the streets nearby (during working days, 9-17) Since then new ideas/projects were developed concerning further parking spaces liquidation in the vicinity of the new parking so far ca. 150 potential places identified 12

Introduction of new bicycle parking stands This measure will help to improve cycling conditions in the city. Cycling parking problems/lack of safe bicycle racks is often mentioned as a barrier to use a bike in Krakow in a convenient way Intention to replace some car-parking spaces with bicycle racks having an awareness factor and giving a message to the society concerning constant policy changes towards sustainable modes Implementations from May 2014 ca. 600 bicycle stands (target 200), not only in the city centre 16
