Community & Fun International Chito-Ryu Karate-Do: Recent Gradings On the Monday after the Chito-Ryu Karate World Championships, Soke Sensei conducted a number of senior gradings, two of which were for Australian Karate-ka. To learn of these achievements throughout the Chito-Ryu Karate-Do community was truly inspiring and reminds us of the hours of work one must do to attain such mastery in Chito-Ryu Karate-Do. We d like to acknowledge these seniors here and look forward to welcoming all of them to the Sunshine Coast sometime in the near future. AUSTRALIA Michael Noonan Sensei Awarded 7th Dan Adam McDonald Sensei Awarded 3rd Dan CANADA Milton Bourque Sensei Awarded Renshi Armand Martin Sensei Awarded Renshi NORWAY Trond Erdal Sensei Awarded 5th Dan & Renshi International Chito-Ryu Karate-Do: Recent Demonstrations On the first day of competition at the Chito-Ryu Karate World Championships, we were treated to a series of weapons demonstrations which was performed by seniors from various countries (including Sunshine Coast representatives, Sensei Martin, Sensei Sandra, Sensei Helen and Senpai Sam). This was followed by further demonstrations from some of Chito-Ryu Karate-Do s most senior members. Sensei Martin has uploaded videos to the Sunshine Coast Karate Facebook Page for you all to enjoy. 2017 Training Scholarship - Klaudia Caston Klaudia spent just over three weeks in Japan (late July-early August). Two of these weeks was to train with Soke Sensei and Higuchi Sensei. Klaudia has done a great job documenting her experiences and has shared many blog posts via your local committee website. If you haven t already checked out Klaudia's posts. The Tortoise Takes The Cake At the recent kyu grading, one of our senior members, Selina Strazzari moved up to 1st kyu. Like most people, her karate journey hasn t all been a smooth easy path. There have been times when she s moved forwards quickly and other times when it s been hard going for her. After the grading we spoke to her and she shared some thoughts about her journey so far. After listening to what she had to say, we realised that there was some good insights worth sharing, so we asked her to do this short piece of writing.
