The CGHS Step Team is expected to be the best of the best and we will continue to uphold our reputation. Therefore, we must impose the following requirements: Grades: Each stepper must maintain passing grades. We allow each girl one D or F for a season. If a girl earns a D or F, she will receive 10 demerits. The girls are only allowed 20 demerits to remain on the team. Once a girl has a D or F, she is expected to show progress in the following two weeks. We will require a new print out from the teacher. If improvement is not evident, the stepper will be placed on academic probation and will not be allowed to practice or perform until the next progress report is issued. Attendance: Each stepper must be fully devoted to the time and preparation it requires to be a part of our program. Practices are held 3-4 times a week from 3:30-6:00 p.m. Prior arrangements MUST be made for each girl to be picked up ON TIME! Girls that are repeatedly left after practice times will receive demerits. Girls are required to attend each performance whether they have been chosen to perform or not. Girls are required to attend all performances and competitions. Behavior: N s and U s are equivalent to D s and F s in the eyes of the coaches. Therefore, the same rules will apply. Girls are expected to respect each other, the captains, and the coaches at all times. Girls are further expected to respect each employee and adult at CGHS or any place we travel. Failure to meet these requirements will be met with strong disciplinary action up to and including suspension and/or expulsion from the squad. We wish to insure that each stepper will provide positive leadership in the school. Please make sure you examine our demerit system CAREFULLY as it is a binding contract between each stepper, parent, and coach. Once you have signed the consent form, you are also agreeing to abide by all of the rules that have been set forth. Student Signature Date Parent Signature Date
