Take the exit that directs you to JAFZA gates 7,8 & 9 (Exit 13). Follow the road and continue straight through the traffic light crossroads until you reach the first roundabout where you make a left. Continue along the road and use the exit towards Jebel Ali Resort. Take a left at the round about and continue to follow the signage towards the parking and registration areas. Page 06 registration March 31 5.00Am transition zone On race day transition will open 5:00am for athletes to prepare their area till 6.15am. It will close promptly. During the race, only racing competitors with a valid race number will be allowed through the transition area. Bikes May be collected from your respective transition zone ONLY when the last bike has returned from the cycle leg for your triathlon. There will be separate zones for OLYMPIC, SPRINT, FITNESS FIRST and SUPER SPRINT. If you are collecting your bike, please respect other competitors who are still racing. team handover zones Please note that cyclists only will be allowed within the transition area. We have two handover zones: 1. Swim to Bike located beside transition entrance 2. Bike to Run located outside transition exit at start of run Bike Racking march 31 From 5:00am bike racking closes 30mins before first wave of each distance 5:00am to 6:00am for OLYMPIC & SPRINT 7:00am to 8:00am for 8:15am to 9:15am for SUPER SPRINT 8:30am to 9:45am for KIDS & SMALL KIDS TriFirst championships Competitors will be able to rack their bikes on race day starting at 5.00am. Please rack your bike on a marked line on the transition racks.there will be a tag with your name and race number. Please be considerate to other competitors when racking your bike try not to take up too much space! Once racked, all bags or other items that are not going to be used during the race should be moved away so that transition is kept as clear as possible. Wolfi s Bikeshop will be available on race day for any bike assistance required. race briefing 6:00am / 7:00AM / 8:15AM/ 9:15AM/ 9:45AMM / 9:45AM registration area At the registration area you will find your race number displayed on the information boards next to bike transition area. Pick up your registration drawstring bag from the bike rack based on your race number. Your bag will contain: There will be a compulsory race briefing at 6:00am for OLYMPIC, 7:00am for SPRINT, 8:15 Fitness First, 9:15am for SUPER SPRINT and 9:45am for KIDS Triathlon. Please attend this as any last minute changes will be discussed and any questions answered. Timing Chip & ankle strap timing system You need to attach the timing chip to your LEFT ankle. Your chip will be collected from you at the finish line - if you don t return your chip at this point you will be liable for a fee of AED 100 so please remember to return it! (Note that we are not using the ChampionChip system so please use the timing chip given to you at registration any other chip will not work) Timing antennas will be positioned at the entry to transition, at the exit of transition, turn around points on bike and run and at the finish line. We ll endeavour to provide you with all your timing splits, but this is not guaranteed. Very occasionally, a timing chip may not be read or a timing antenna may fail and timing splits may not be available. You ll receive a total finish time providing we can see your race number when you cross the finish line. If you withdraw during the event please make sure you return your timing chip, otherwise we will think you are still out there racing! Race Number & swim cap A race number must be clearly visible on your back for the bike, and your front for the run. Please use an elastic race belt for your race number. (Relay teams are required to pass this belt from one team member to the other in transition). Belts can be purchased on race day if required. Each wave will start with a different colour cap. Please make sure the colour of the cap in your race pack matches the colour shown on the information board. It is compulsory to wear these swim caps in the swim. race results A set of results will be available on our website www.race-me-events.com as soon as possible after the event. We hope they ll all be perfect but any queries relating to them should be emailed to us by the Tuesday after the event, after which time all results will be deemed as final and complete.

Page 07 terms & conditions Terms and Conditions of entry swim INfo The terms and conditions of entry are set out on our website at http://www.race-meevents.com/terms-and-conditions. In entering this event, competitors have agreed to abide with these terms and conditions. The swim will be a non-wetsuit swim. Swimwear must be 100% textile material, which is defined as materials consisting of natural and/or synthetic, individual and non-consolidated yarns used to constitutea fabric by weaving, knitting and/or braiding. Simply put, this would generally refer to suits made only from nylon or Lycra that do not have any rubberized material such as polyurethane or neoprene. Swimwear must not cover the neck, extend past the shoulder, nor extend past the knees. Swimwear may contain a zipper. Athletes with special circumstances can apply to the organisers for a waiver. A race kit may be worn underneath swimwear. All athletes must wear the swim cap provided and start in their allocated wave. Only swim goggles or masks are permitted. No other swim aids of any kind are permitted. Only official lifeguards on kayaks and rescue jet skis are allowed on the swim course. Swimmers may use the kayaks and jet skis for aid should they require assistance so long as there is no forward momentum, which would result in disqualification. transfer of entries Transfer of your entry to another person may only be done until the date of the close of registration for the event. This is done online through Premier Online select the Transfer Registration option in the Transactions section of your profile manager to do so. You need to know the email address of the person you are transferring your entry to. withdrawal policy Our online registration is done through Premier Online (PO). We allow athletes to withdraw from an event. However, if you decide to do so PO only give you the option to have your race registration fee credited to your PO profile. This must be done no later than 7 days prior to the published close of registration, and is accessed through the Transactions section of your profile manager under the Cancel/Credit a Registration section. PO charges a processing fee of AED 30 to process this withdrawal and online credit. body marking Every participant will be marked with his race number on both arms and legs. Please make sure that no sun lotion is applied prior to marking. bike regulations Helmets must be worn at all times on the bike. The helmet should be securely fastened before mounting your bike.there is to be no riding of bikes before the mount line or after the dismount line. This could result in disqualification. Bikes should be racked neatly, fixed by the seat or handlebars based on the colour marker tape on the racks. Please be respectful of other athletes space in transition. Race numbers must be worn on your back. ASHURST TRiFest & Fitness First Championships are non-draft legal race. Please refer to the drafting section. The roads will be blocked or coned-off so please follow the rules of the road and be aware of potential traffic on the bike leg. Please ride single file on the right except when overtaking. Once past, please return to the right side of the road. No ipods or similar headphone devices allowed. Please do not litter the bike course. run zone A shirt or full-length trisuit must be worn at all times. No ipods or similar headphone devices allowed. Page 13 drafting regulations positioning rules 1. Absolutely NO DRAFTING of another bike or any other vehicle is allowed. 2. Athletes must keep 7 metres (4 bike lengths) distance between bikes except when passing. Failure to do so will result in a drafting violation. 3. A pass occurs when the overtaking athlete s front wheel passes the leading edge of the athlete being overtaken. 4. Overtaking athletes may pass on the left for up to 20 seconds, but must move back to the left side of the road, after passing. Failure to complete a pass within 20 seconds will result in a drafting violation. Athletes may not back out of the 7 metres draft zone once it is entered (drafting violation). 5. Overtaken athletes must immediately fall back 7 metres (4 bike lengths) before attempting to regain the lead from a front running bike. Immediately re-passing prior to falling back 7 metres will result in a drafting violation. 6. Overtaken Athletes who remain within 7 metres (4 bike lengths) for more than 20 seconds will be given a drafting violation. 7. Athletes must ride single file on the left side of the road at all times except when passing another rider, or for reasons of safety. Side-by-side riding is strictly forbidden and will result in a drafting violation. 8. Impeding the forward progress of other athletes will result in a drafting violation. 9. You may not leave the course during the bike leg (there are toilets on the course at each aid station). 10.Major infringements (dangerous riding, drafting, deliberate littering etc.) will always attract a RED card. Blocking violations will invite a YELLOW card. Two cards will result in disqualification (DQ). 11. There will be 7 mobile officials and numerous static officials enforcing these rules on the course at all times. the official will 1. Inform you that you have violated the rules. You should not expect any warning. He/She will not discuss the penalty. 2. Call out your race number and show a RED or YELLOW card. He/she will require you to acknowledge the card. 3. Pass your number and the violation card colour to the race management for post race audit. if you are shown a card, you must 1. Report to the penalty tent on the right after dismount but before entering T2 (we will not remind you; this is your responsibility). 2. RED Card - Sign in to the penalty register, wait in the tent for 4 minutes (the official will time your penalty for you) then proceed. You may not eat or drink while in the penalty tent. 3. YELLOW Card Sign in, then proceed. Note: Failure to attend will result in a DQ. please note 1. Bicycles must be racked in a manner such that the majority of the bicycle is on the athlete s side of the bike rack. 2. No tandems, recumbents, fairings, or any add-on device designed exclusively to reduce resistance are allowed. Any new, unusual, or prototype equipment will be subject to a determination of legality by the event organizer and/or Head Referee. 3. The sole responsibility of knowing and following the prescribed cycling course rests with each athlete. No adjustments in times or results shall be made for athletes who fail to follow the proper course for any reason whatsoever. 4. Athletes must obey all traffic laws while on the cycling course unless otherwise specifically directed by an official, race monitor, or designee with actual authority. Failure to do so may result in disqualification. 5. No athlete shall endanger himself or another participant. Athletes who intentionally present a danger to any athlete or who, in the judgment of the Referee, appear to cause a danger to athletes may be disqualified. 6. All athletes may attach shoes to the pedals. Shoes and shirt must be worn at all times. 7. Athletes must wear a bike helmet. 8. Athletes must have a bike frame number fixed to their bike and the entire number must be clearly visible from the left side. 9. Athletes riding without an approved helmet or chinstrap not fastened may be disqualified. Alterations to hard-shell helmets, which affect its integrity, are not allowed. 10. No individual support allowed. Ample aid and food stations will be provided. Friends, family members, coaches, or supporters of any type may NOT bike, drive, or run alongside athlete, may not pass food or other items to athlete and should be warned to stay completely clear of all athletes to avoid the disqualification of an athlete. It is incumbent upon each athlete to immediately reject any attempt to assist, follow, or escort. 11. Do not litter. Any item that needs to be discarded, including but not limited to water bottles, gel wrappers, energy bar wrappers, broken bike parts, or clothing items, may only be discarded in the trash drop zones at each aid station. Discarding any item outside of the trash drop zones will result in a penalty. Littering will result in a 4 minute penalty. 12. Athletes must be individually responsible for repair and maintenance of their own bike. Athletes should be prepared to handle any possible mechanical malfunction. Assistance from RACE.ME staff is permitted. 13. Athletes may walk bike, if necessary, but may not make progress on the bike course unaccompanied by their bicycle. 14. Bike inspection is not mandatory and will not be provided at Bike Check-In, although technicians will be available. Athletes are ultimately responsible for their own bikes. However, race officials may at their discretion make final judgment as to the soundness of bikes. In the event of foul weather, large plastic bags, which cover the entire bike, will be permitted as long as the bags are securely fastened to the bike. 15. Communication devices of any type, such as cell phones and two-way radios are strictly prohibited during competition. Use of such devices will result in disqualification. HEADSETS OR HEADPHONES ARE NOT ALLOWED AT ANY TIME OF THE EVENT. 16. MEDICAL SUPPORT. If you need minor medical assistance, a Sag vehicle will pick you up and take you to the medical tent, where you shall receive treatment. Alternatively, depending upon medical emergency, ambulances will take you to the nearest hospital to receive treatment. If you have a technical problem or have bonked, the Sag vehicle will take you to the next aid station. There will be rest areas and medical personnel to assist in any medical problem. Additionally, there will be radios to contact ambulances and medical assistance. If you have a problem, please go to an aid station for further assistance. 17. Please note that cut-off times may apply to the course and will be discussed at the Athlete Briefing.

14 medical advice UAE climate It is essential that you are aware of the weather conditions during the race. It is expected to be hot with very little, if any, shade. We will have ambulances on standby throughout the duration of the race but you must take care to race sensibly in such conditions. If you start to get headaches, feel dizzy and nauseous then you may be suffering from heat exhaustion and need to seek medical advice. Listen to your body. Talk to the nearest volunteer who will be able to help you get attention. The common symptoms of heat exhaustion include: confusion, muscle cramps, heavy sweating, headaches, nausea/vomiting and dizziness. If you become aware of these symptoms then seek medical help. sufficient hydration Please stay hydrated and drink plenty of fluids in the days leading up to the race and remember to continue to take on fluids on the morning before the swim start. During the bike and run try to take on board about 500ml of fluids per hour. There will be water available from aid stations but please make sure you have sufficient fluids of your own on your bike. sun lotion Sun lotion will be available at the start area. Please make sure to protect yourself from the sun.
