A BRILLIANT PLACE TO WATCH FOOTBALL.. WHY NOT MAKE A WEEKEND OF IT. 1 Bala, a small yet fascinating market town located at the head of its famous lake, Llyn Tegid, is an ideal centre for touring North and Mid-Wales' Mountains, Valleys and Coasts. Bala is famous for the quality of its watersports facilities, fishing (fly and coarse) walking, cycling, miniature steam railway and offers outstanding value for money high quality accommodation in a variety of properties to suit all pockets and tastes. It is surrounded by breathtakingly beautiful countryside, being located within the Snowdonia National Park. Llyn Tegid (sometimes known as Bala Lake) is the largest natural lake in Wales. Just over 1 hours drive from LIVERPOOL and not much more from MANCHESTER. Activities Bala Lake has a sailing club and a waterborne activities centre. People come from far and wide to use the lake for windsurfing etc. The River Dee is famous for fly fishing and there are opportunities for shooting game or clays. Walking is probably the most popular activity and little wonder with the wealth of beautiful countryside that abounds. Mountain climbing is also available nearby. For those who want to try out their 4-wheel drive machines there are
excellent courses available from Bala. We will endeavour to assist in finding activities in advance for you, however we do ask for as much notice as possible. The Bala region is brimming with outdoor activities. It was the location for the World Canoeing championships on the challenging River Tryweryn; at the excellent centre you can book a white-water rafting experience! 2 E FOOTBALL Bala attracted a crowd of 938 for the Bangor City fixture at Maes Tegid. Bala Town are the 4th best supported club in the Welsh Pyramid of football. We have won a staggering amount of honours in recent years.

Began his career as a trainee with Liverpool before joining Cemaes Bay and Conwy United. Also played with Altrincham and is among the Welsh Premier's top five all-time scorers with more than 150 league goals. Mark Powell Former England schoolboy international clubs include Everton and Bolton Wanderers. Returned to major part in the treble winning season of 2003/4, also player to appear in all the Lillies' 10 European ties. whose previous Rhyl and played a becoming the only Danny Williams Started his career at Liverpool and was capped by Wales at Under-21 level before a move to Wrexham. Made a total of 280 Football League appearances. Signed for Rhyl in August 2008. Played a major part in the Lillies' title win but left to join Droyslden, before returning to the league with Bala Town. John Irving Defender who was a member of Everton's reserves, being named player of the year two seasons running after being handed the captain's armband in February 2007. Irving, who has appeared for the England Under-16s, was released from Goodison in June 2009 and joined Bala Town at the end of August. 4 OUR MATCHDAY HOSPITALITY..AMONGST THE BEST A dedicated team led by Gareth Moon and Ken Edwards has met and entertained all visiting officials, players and guests in the Bala Pavilion. With homemade snacks and a friendly welcome a trip to Bala has been one that most players, referees and guests have enjoyed. We regard this area of our activity as important and it is our public face. We have set a standard that we will maintain with enthusiasm.

Travelling to Maes Tegid is very straight-forward. If coming from the east turn right by the White Lion Hotel in the middle of the town, straight across at the crossroads and Maes Tegid is on the left. There is room for approx 50 cars at the ground - otherwise parking is available within a couple of hundred yards of the ground at Plasey Street or the Green Car Park which is situated on the left after coming over the bridge into town from the east. There is also ample parking available either side of the High Street. Food and soft drinks are available at the ground - no alcohol is available at Maes Tegid. However the Plas Coch (1) and The Goat (2) serve a good pint and are highly recommended before and after the match. For accommodation the White Lion t (3) offers excellent rates as do Tilly Mint B&B (4). Another welcoming hostelry along the High Street in Bala towards the West is The Olde Bulls Head (6). They are CAMRA recognised, welcome children, serve food, have an open fire, they cater for bed and breakfast with parking for patrons They hold a 2am licence for Friday and Saturday nights. 7
