Vanek Family Memorial Field home of the The Cottey College Comets play their home games at Vanek Family Memorial Field. The field is named for the Vanek family by Dorothy Vanek, whose gift to the College made this playing field possible. The field was dedicated on March 29, 2013. Prior to the constuction of Vanek Field, the Comets were forced to play the majority of their games on the road, with a few home games scheduled at a field shared with the local high school team. Thanks to Mrs. Vanek s gift, however, the words home game are now part of the Comets vocabulary. 17

The weather hasn t always cooperated this winter, but on the days when it warms up, the Comets are more than happy to take batting practice outside.
