Coaches at the Camp will include: 2013 SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION PACKET STEVE ROBILLARD A coach with the well regarded Regional Training Centre in Montreal, Steve is a highly sought after consultant in Quebec and internationally. His reputation as a world-leading blade technician is only part of what he offers. He is a leader in skating technique using the latest science of movement to design training programs that produce results. His own skating resumé is impressive: 25 years of experience, 8 years on the National Team, 4 individual World Cup medals, 2 time silver medalist at the World Juniors, a member of the 2005 World Record Canadian relay team, twice Canadian Open Champion, to name a few. Steve knows what it takes to compete, and he knows what it takes to develop skaters. GABRIEL GIRARD With 18 years in the sport as athlete and coach the last four as Coach of the Regional Training Centre in Quebec City Gabriel is developing a growing reputation for supporting speed skaters at the highest level, as his role as Head Coach for the Swiss long and short track teams (2012-13) proves. With his Physical Education degree, he has taken his experience and knowledge to find solutions to help skaters improve physically, technically and psychologically. AMANDA OVERLAND Amanda, who got her start on skates at the age of four, credits her speed skating family as the major influence on her love of the sport. Her father has been a well-known coach of the Cambridge Speed Skating Club for more than 25 years, while brother Kevin and sister Cindy are both former Olympians actively involved in the speed skating community. At the Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games, Amanda realized her dream of being an Olympic champion, earning a silver medal with her four teammates in the 3000m relay. Amanda was a bronze medalist at the World Short Track Team Championships, the World Champion in the relay, and the Canadian Open Champion. Amanda earned her first two individual world cup medals in the 2004-2005 season, demonstrating enough talent to be recognized as Speed Skating Canada s 2005 Short Track Athlete of the Year.
