Admission Requirements Registration at one of the sport clubs is open to all full time, part time, as well as nonstudents at the Vaal University of Technology. Acceptance to clubs depends on the club s constitution. There is no discrimination with regard to gender, colour or creed at the Sport Academy and its associated divisions and clubs. This is also the policy at the Vaal University of Technology. Sport Awards Honours: Awarded to those athletes who are selected at a senior provincial level or higher and to those who are selected to represent the different USSA teams. Merits Awarded to those athletes who are selected for provincial junior teams. VUT Rugby Club We are an open Club with students and private players Every player has to be committed towards practices, games, discipline and mutual respect. Practices and games: Played at Isak Steyl Stadium Practice times: Tuesday s and Thursday s 18H00 20H00 Teams at the Club: 1 st, 2 nd and U/21 Coaches: Have to be committed to the game. All players have to improve their game skills by going on rugby clinics; courses etc. when available to better their qualifications, annually. Current coaches already completed their IRB level II coaching courses in fifteen- player as well as IRB level I in sevens coaching. Union:
Play for the Valke Rugby Union Games, matches and competitions: League: Play double round in the Valke Merlin league. USSA Tournaments were only registered VUT students can participate USSA 15 s during the first week in July of each year. USSA 7 s where we competed for the first time in November 2012. Provincial teams: Players with excellent rugby talent are identified and nominated during the year and are invited to participate in trials for all the amateur and provincial teams of the Valke union. The Management and Coaches are fully committed to all players and will give them the best opportunity towards improving their talents and playing at the highest level of their ability.
