TWO PATRONS FOR THE NATURE&SPORTS MEETING EURO MEET " It was with great pleasure that I accepted the invitation to be an ambassador for the Tourism and Outdoor Sports European network meetings. As a competition-level paragliding pilot and the reigning world champion, I am honored that my sport can be the ambassador for summer outdoor sports. Sliding and gliding sports enthusiasts are growing a lot around Annecy Lake and its mountains. In this respect I can say that we have one of the best and most beautiful imaginable environments! Anything is possible - a short flight taking off from the magnificent balconies above the lake, hurtling down the Aravis ski, snowboard or speed riding slopes; hiking; cross-country skiing; snow-shoeing or taking to the lake with a kite surf or a dinghy when there is not enough wind to fill a sail... I originally come from Annecy and I am a mountain man in the heart; so I know our region has the necessary resources to develop tourism and outdoor sports. We perform well in structuring all these activities. Plus the big industrial companies are all here. My career as a top-level athlete in Alpine skiing has taught me about surpassing myself, respecting the environment and team spirit. These three values seem to me to go hand in hand with the European network meeting on Tourism and Outdoor Sports. Nature & Sports Euro'Meet Annecy 2011 will be a time for exchanges, conviviality and shared European experiences. I am honored to take part in this first event as a patron. THE EUROPEAN NETWORK MEETING NATURE & SPORTS - EURO MEET In 2003 the French Government created the National Tourism and Outdoor Sport Network Meeting. The aim of this event was to gather all professionals of tourism, sport, environment and territorial development sectors. Now, after 5 editions, it is a major event in France. The 6 th edition of this meeting, called «Nature & Sports Euro meet», will take place in Annecy from the 5 th to the 8 th October 2011 at the Arcadium. Nature & Sports Euro meet is: A 4-day seminar with 4 themes: Outdoor Sports sites and environmental responsibility Professional skills and workers' mobility all over Europe, what successes are we heading towards? Practices and consumption in outdoor sports The offers of Outdoor Sports as a factor for territorial development A 3-day trade show with one hundred stands. Nature & Sport Euro meet s purposes are: To favor experience transfers To build a common expertise for a sustainable development of outdoor sports To favor the recognition of outdoor sports in European public policies To take part in an opening-up of different professional fields To promote a common European culture of outdoor sports and leisure
