Apologies: Craig Trenham, Melanie Beets Start: 2000 hrs MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING: Minutes were accepted by Ross Ferguson and seconded by Rosemary Taylor CORRESPONDENCE / REPORTS The reports as listed on the agenda were made available prior to the meeting. TASSC 0004a- Terry Atkinson gave a brief report on board meeting that was held on the previous weekend. TASSC004bv- looking on feedback on club event use of Frontal Head Restraint. Speed Licence has been recategorised. Sop- looking at a senior official workshop basically a refresher to tackle inconsistencies in certain areas of paperwork and procedures. Race a lot of uproar regarding compulsory camera, changed to highly recommended. Stewards Ross Ferguson reported stewards guide being developed, reminds to ensure all essential officials are in place before permission to start event. Charges or infringements are not being recorded in logbooks, referred to SOP panel to address. SCDO Jenna Reported still waiting on calendars, Dennis Burgess recommended print calendar in different format, disappointed in the delay. Moved Dennis Burgess and Seconded Robin Wilmot to use old format and print instate. AGENDA ITEMS TASSC 0005: Event Approvals Date Changes, Cancellations, New Applications - TORSS 1 scheduled for 8 April will no longer take place at Kellevie. The new venue will be Cambridge. - NWCC Aug 19 khanacross to rally. - The above changes were accepted by Karen Baker and seconded by Dennis Burgess. The following calendar changes were tabled but thestate Council have given club representatives 7 days to notify the Executive of any objections/clashes. - NWCC: Due to venue/road availability, the Lake Barrington Hillclimb scheduled for 26 March is now requested for 22 April. Withhold until MSCT talk to committee as it clashes with State Motorkhana which takes precedence. (Stephen Mott is the Event Director) - NWCC: 8 April Due to venue/road availability, the Rally Sprint at Yolla is now a Khanacross - NWCC: July 22 rally to motorkhana - NWCC: Nov 18 November Motorkhana to Rallysprint MGCC: moved by Robin Wilmot and Seconded by Sam Harvey, that Cams dinner be held within first 3 weeks of February. TASSC 0008: 2017 Tasmanian Drift Series Regulations Noting amendments to 12.4, 12.5, 12.6 & 12.7Use the term workshop manual weight with manual transmission instead of common manual variant weight Moved by Patrick Forsk and Seconded by Dennis Burgess CARRIED TASSC 0009: 2017 Tasmanian Rally Championship Regulations Moved by Lee Peterson and Seconded by Jason Martin CARRIED TASSC 0010: 2017 Tasmanian Off Road Series Regulations Noting changes to 5.10. Outright Navigator will be awarded to the Navigator with the most time in the vehicle as Navigator. In the event the time is shared equally the Navigator nominated on the entry form as number one navigator will be awarded the Outright Navigator Award. Moved by and Seconded by Karen Baker CARRIED TASSC 0011: Discussion about future requirements for grass-roots level motor sport Dennis Burgess, Read commission notes re FHR and implications. Lots of concerns of forcing into low level events. Terry Atkinson once again reiterated that this is not the case. GENERAL BUSINESS Letter from HQ requesting round 5 be points free as 9 competitors will be going to WA to compete. Resolve to accept Letter from NWCC questioning process of State Council approval of Subaru Challenge. Was noted that the State Executive accepted the tabled Subaru Challenge Regulations from the TRAP Chairman who had forwarded to TRAP Delegates via email for discussion. State Council chair will send a response to the NWCC. Donald Potter Eligibility-Has anything been done for regularity Eligibility officer, noted this question is needs to be referred to Race panel David Waldon- 500CC recently held a trial junior development program after a couple of years working and refining, was very successful, Ross Ferguson- recently attended appointed officials seminar in Melbourne. CAMS manual very slow coming online,lot of reference numbers have changed so be aware. Sam Harvey- asked if driving standards officer will be appointed for race categories, noted this is a question to be directed at race panel. Ross Ferguson-discussed recent ongoing issues within the Formula Vee category, conflict between drivers! And driving standards. State Council can convene a investigatory tribunal but suggest bette to run an investigation into the category. Kim Taylor, Ross Ferguson and Kieran Glover to hold and report back. Patrick Forck- Drift Challenge Australia are running events in the state under AASA and still working on the implications it will have on Drifting Tasmania. Sam Harvey noted they are looking into different event utilising Hillcimb and possible street circuit. Lee Peterson- state rallying in Tasmania has been forced to run as a championship, why aren't other series made do the same.. Terry Atkinson commented rally was first and others categories will soon follow. ACTIONS TO BE TAKEN Jenna to notify Permits of approved event changes. Kim to respond to NWCC letter.
