It s inland borders are with Greece, Former Yugoslavia Republic of Macedonia, Kosovo and Montenegro. In the west the Strait of Otranto (82 km) separates the country from Italy. The climate is healthy and favorable. On average, there are 120 days a year of a temperature higher than 20 degrees Celsius, and approximately 112-120 days of sun. The coast of the Republic of Albania, including the lagoons, is 450 km long. It consists of the Adriatic and the Ionian seashore. Inside the country, the landscape is mountainous and fierce, not familiar to foreigners. Albanian nature offers opportunities for the promotion of sun and sea tourism, eco and cultural. Rally Albania 2009 is an off-road rally open to bikes, quads and cars with seven days of competition against a demanding course, the clock and the other competitors. On the first day, June 6 in Parc Ferme situated in, the teams will be called for technical scrutiny and administrative checks, followed by an Opening Event planned in the city center On the second day, June 7, the first competitive superspecial stage will be run. It is 5 km of timed track that will establish the starting order and also will be added to the total time. From Monday to Saturday, teams and drivers will be timed each day in one, two or three competitive special sections, the complete distance of which is between 50 and 200 km. After starting stage one in, the race will go to the extreme south the city of Saranda, then in east Albania to Përmet and Korça, finishing the last stage in again. Driving capacity and navigation skills will be challenged to the extreme on a route sometimes on rocks, mud, river beds, mountains and slow gravel or white fast gravel that also demand a keen sense of navigation. At the finish, after nearly 1500 km of route, more than 800 km comprising timed sections, competitors will be invited to a prize-giving show in the center of.

Registration terms and Vehicles Rally Albania is a rally raid type that is open to amateurs that are at least 18 years old and have the standard driving licence in the category they want to participate. 1 All vehicles need to be road legal in the country whose registration plates they carry, with all papers valid at least until June 14, 2009. All vehicles and participants are obliged to have minimum safety equipment described in the rule book. 2 The route is described in a road book and for each stage it will be distributed at 20:00 on the day before the stage. The road book for cars will be in A5 standard and for bikes and quads in roll form (150mm wide). 3 Minimum number of participants is ten bikes/quads and ten cars. Maximum number is 50 bikes/ quads and 40 cars. 4 Registration is open from February 15 to May 15, 2009. Late registration is possible until June 1, 2009 on payment of double administrative and race fees. The detailed cost and the payment methods are described in the following pages.

Road Book The road book of Rally Albania is in standard FIA A5 format for cars, and in 145 mm wide roll for bikes and quads. The route will remain secret until the road book is distributed to crews. Minimum unit distance is 10 meters and every participants have to calibrate their computer the day before the race in a defined one km distance. It is absolutely forbidden to go in the opposite direction of the route and is not allowed to go off the track by pain of penalty. The route is divided in connection section liaison and timed section special. In liaison section the competitor have to follow the route with a defined average speed and an exact time. The special section is to be covered in the fastest time possible and the sum of all special sections of all stages will define the winner. Eventual penalties will be added to this time.
