May cause skin irritation. INHALATION: The disagreeable odor from only a few ppm of 2,4 pentanedione in the atmosphere may cause nausea. Exposures to about 1000 ppm for 30 minutes or longer could result in the inhalation of harmful, and possibly fatal, amounts of material.

Wash with copious amounts of water for at least 15 minutes. Do not rub eyes. Seek medical attention immediately. Wash throroughly with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing. If symptoms persist, call a physician. Move to fresh air. Seek medical attention. INGESTION: If swallowed, do not induce vomting. Immediately drink a large quantity of milk or water and call a physician. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Wear appropriate NIOSH/MSHA-approved respirator with organic vapor cartridge N/A with local exhaust. Store in a tightly closed container in a dry, cool, ventilated area. Avoid prolonged or repeated exposure. Lab should equipped with a safety shower and an eye wash station. Wash thoroughly after handling material. Keep away from heat, sparks and open flames.
