NOMINATED FOR TREASURER: Diane Hougland My name is Diane Hougland. I have been nominated to serve as Treasurer of Stockton Sailing Club. I live in Oakdale, am married to Jerry, have two adult sons, a four month old granddaughter, and a grandson on the way in late January, 2015. Jerry and I have had a boat at the club since June, 2004. We became members in July, 2007. We sail Tarantella, a Catalina 320. I became exposed to sailing in the early-70 s through my husband. Work, family and other endeavors steered us away from sailing until 2002. I have taken a few sailing lessons and am getting more confident as a sailor. We enjoy participating in club races which has made us better sailors. I have a BA in English from the University of San Francisco. I became involved in accounting when I worked at Diamond/Sunsweet in Stockton in the late 70 s. I found I enjoyed it. I quit working outside the home to raise my family and take care of our 30 acre ranch outside of Oakdale. I have been a volunteer treasurer for other organizations. I currently am the treasurer of my church, a position I have held for years. Jerry and I are self-employed. Our small company is a provider of equipment, parts, and service to the food processing industry with an emphasis on tomato processing. In my capacity as Controller I am responsible for all accounting functions. I am well versed in QuickBooks which is the accounting program used by Stockton Sailing Club. I enjoy Stockton Sailing Club and all it offers its members. There are many volunteers who spend countless hours making our club what it is. I especially appreciate the kitchen and cooking facilities, as one of our favorite things is to prepare a meal after sailing and enjoy the lovely setting while we dine. Please contact Jillian if you are interested in host- Thank you for the confidence you have shown in nominating me to serve as Treasurer of SSC. I will perform the duties to the best of my ability. ing! Page 10
