A U G U S T 1 4 - A U G U S T 2 7, 2 0 1 7 Page 6 S U T T I E G O L F T I P O F T H E W E E K STOP YOUR SLICE NOW! What do most golfers do? Yes, you guessed it, they slice the ball. So, what do you do to stop it? There are probably many reasons for this type of ball flight but the most important is the FACE ANGLE at IMPACT. It is obviously OPEN at impact. So, here is the fix! Turn your left hand to your right (for right handed player). This should help the face angle at impact. Next, feel like you are turning your forearms counterclockwise on the takeaway. This will help CLOSE the clubface on the backswing. Next, try to swing RIGHT of the target line. This is called an inside-out downswing. And finally, release the club after impact. By release I mean turn your right hand on top of your left hand at waist high after impact. Don't be surprised if your ball goes left. S A V E - T H E - D A T E ~ D R. TwinEagles Poker Schedule: August 16th and 30th September: 13th and 27th T W I N E A G L E S B O O K C L U B Eleven Twin Eagles book club members met on August 8th to discuss Escape From Camp 14 by Blaine Harden. The book tells the story of Shin, a young man who is born in a prison camp in North Korea, endures years of torture and abuse, manages to escape and cross into China, and makes his way into South Korea and eventually to the United States. We discussed the ability of people to inflict torture on others; how someone like Shin has such difficulty coping with life in a capitalist country; and why some North Koreans who escape to South Korea decide to return to North Korea. Finally, with North Korea being so prevalent in the news, we discussed the current regime and its threat to us. The next book club meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 12th, at 4:00pm in the ladies' locker room lounge. We will discuss The Tea Girl Of Hummingbird Lane by Lisa See. ~Submitted by Marsha Bertrand, moderator Anyone interested in joining TE readers in discussion and receiving group emails, please notify Sharon Barry (sseb327@comcast.net)
