Warwick Farm Wednesday 4th May 2016 (1:00pm) 1 - All Too Hard Mdn Hcp (1100m) 1100m 2yo event to start the day. With the scratching of Hair Trigger it looks between two talented first starters. Faith's Encore has trialled twice very well on two occasions this time in - shown all the positives you want to see from an un-raced runner. Tim's Principal just the one trials and another that has show good pace and quickened nicely - from the on fire 2yo stable. PACE: Average. SELECTIONS: 7-4 1 Able Touch G W Moore Tim Clark 6 21.00 2 Omiya Bjorn Baker A Hyeronimus 4 14.00 Has shown a bit of speed in its trials and got away to a decent lead - not overly strong late on each occasion. Strikes a hot race and place preferred this time. 3 Thai Boxing C J Waller R Hutchings 2 51.00 4 Tim's Principal M, W & J Hawkes C Reith 8 3.80 Very nice trial leading into this. Good pace and nice turn of foot when asked. Drawn a touch awkward - but that does not look a huge issue from this start. Hard to knock any Hawkes 2yo's at present. 5 Wine Bush C J Waller J B Mc Donald 5 10.00 Just the one trial and positive enough - no pressure early and finished the trial off nicely. Knockout hope. 6 Hair Trigger James Cummings G Schofield 10 SCRATCHED 7 Faith's Encore P & P Snowden K Mc Evoy 1 2.90 professional trials - has shown pace and acceleration under little pressure. Looks bombproof but does come up with the inside marble. Does genuinely look the horse to beat. But a few little niggles against. 8 Perfect Rhyme R T Leemon T Angland 3 41.00 9 Once More A Lady Joseph Pride J Ford 7 16.00 10 Lewinski M C Conners A Adkins 9 21.00
(1:40pm) 2 - Pro-Ride Mdn Hcp (1100m) Other half of the split 2yo event and again there looks limited winning hopes. Astley clearly the best of the first starters - draws widest - but no surprise to see him run very well. Jericho not hard to find of the raced brigade - comes out of the super strong Golden Gift won by Yankee Rose. Has trialled very well. Lord Kinglsey and Cadogan possible improvers. PACE: Average. SELECTIONS: 2-1/6-5 1 Astley J A O'Shea J B Mc Donald 10 4.50 Loved its trial. Jumped in front - restrained back and worked home nicely. Draw is certainly awkward and stops it being closer to the favourite in the market. 2 Jericho P & P Snowden B Shinn 4 2.25 3 Raise An Army C J Waller R Hutchings 1 31.00 4 Virgilio K J Parker Tim Clark 8 51.00 5 Cadogan Bjorn Baker B Avdulla 6 13.00 6 Lord Kingsley Lauri Wray Peter Wells 9 15.00 OK on debut in a good race. No surprise to see improvement here and looks at least a place chance. Didn't mind the debut effort over the 1000m at Gosford. Better for it and sure to be improved. Knockout hope. 7 Margie 'n' Me G R Nickson A Banks 2 251.00 8 Phoenix Claws C J Waller T Angland 7 31.00 9 Divajeu Cheryl Roberts Ms W Costin 3 51.00 10 Mantilla C J Waller J R Collett 5 34.00
(2:20pm) 3 - Tab Rewards Mdn Plate (1400m) Smallish field here and tactics look important. Arancini should appreciate getting back on a firmer surface with the senior jockey on board - should control things. Closers in Hogmanay, Most Exalted and Sanaya all fairly awkwardly drawn - not convinced by any of them at the moment. Do they push forward on More Exalted from the gate? Happy to be with Arancini here - with Most Exalted the query runner. PACE: Below Average. SELECTIONS: 1/5-4 1 Arancini G A Ryan C Reith 3 3.25 Very strong on debut when run down late by a subsequent winner. Never looked comfortable on the soft track last start - never in the right part of the track. Senior rider takes over and looks very well placed to improve. 2 Blackmaker Ms G Waterhouse Tim Clark 8 SCRATCHED 3 Dreamforce John Thompson T Angland 7 SCRATCHED 4 Hogmanay C J Waller B Avdulla 6 5.50 5 Most Exalted James Cummings G Schofield 9 4.75 Had the cold sit first up and just ground away a touch there. Obviously open to improvement but likely to give the field a start. The closer. Certainly disappointing last time - just battled away in the better part of the track. Possibly blame the surface and with the blinkers on from the outside gate - not surprised to see him ridden more aggressively. Can win. 6 Plea Bargain R J Price R Hutchings 2 17.00 7 Danecora A J Cummings K Mc Evoy 1 26.00 8 Mon Bel Ami L W Curtis J Penza 5 31.00 9 Sanaya C J Waller J B Mc Donald 4 8.00 Has promised plenty without delivering to date. Looks in need of much further. Drawn the best of the closers but needs to improve significantly.
(2:55pm) 4 - McGrath Estate Agents (Bm71) (1600m) Tricky race for the Fillies over the 1600m. Strongest chances look the top three - Sheilarized, Themis and Raitza. They look to have a class edge on the rest. In saying that - there are probably four runners that are open to significant improvement. Via Napoli, Crystal Flute, Mount Omei and Baveno are still on the up. Playing very conservatively here and looking for value. PACE: Average/Above Average. SELECTIONS: 1-3-2-9 1 Sheilarized Joseph Pride A Adkins 8 4.75 2 Themis Ms G Waterhouse B Shinn 1 8.00 3 Raitza J A O'Shea Tim Clark 10 8.00 4 Via Napoli C J Waller R Hutchings 2 12.00 Strong winner at Wyong with things in her favour. Back to the trials since and should be right up to the mark. Leads or tracks Savannah Rose and looks the one to beat from there. solid runs back from a spell building in fitness. 1600m the biggest query. Inside gate should be OK and can take up a prominent trailing position. Can win. Rock solid first up when given a good ride and just failed to pick up the race fit leader. Draws awkwardly here and likely to give them a start. Can finish off. Can win. Improved nicely at her second start for a good win. Looks likely to get the right run here and can still be on the up. Hard to line up - but tough to discount also. Chance - place preferred. 5 Savannah Rose G R Nickson J R Collett 5 17.00 6 Crystal Flute G A Ryan K Mc Evoy 4 10.00 7 Mount Omei C J Waller B Avdulla 7 13.00 Over came a very slow start for a solid enough win. That form is impossible to line up. Has shown promise and the mile may be suitable? Another query in an open race. Got the job done in Melbourne last start in a moderate race. Yet another horse that can be on the up. Needs a clear career best to be winning this. Maybe? Place preferred. 8 Baubo C J Waller G Schofield 6 31.00 9 Baveno J A O'Shea J B Mc Donald 3 7.50 Green but solid win two starts back. In an extremely slow pace race last time and a close up fifth. Certainly did not look to appreciate the sit sprint nature of that. Another improver. 10 Mystical Tale Bjorn Baker C Reith 9 SCRATCHED
(3:30pm) 5 - Tab More Than Winning (Bm67) (1400m) Another race that unfortunately does not add up perfectly. Girl Sunday and Stradance control the pace - neither look overly strong. Swift Lady some hope of holding a position today - sharply up in trip with the blinkers on and looks a very interesting runner. Harlem Lady the closer with any luck. Miss Antaeus the other worthy of decent though. PACE: Below Average/Average. SELECTIONS: 2-6-1-5 1 Girl Sunday G A Ryan B Avdulla 3 6.50 Good effort last time leading all the way on the Beaumont track. Things to suit there and this does look tougher. Should get a comfortable on pace run again. Each way chance this time. 2 Swift Lady J G Sargent Matthew Mc Gillivray 5 6.50 Loved the first up run when basically a barrier trial. Blinkers first time. Kid to ride is a major query. Knockout hope. 3 The Iron Maiden J N Englebrecht G Buckley 8 61.00 4 Crown Moss M C Conners J B Mc Donald 7 31.00 5 Miss Antaeus C J Waller J R Collett 12 11.00 6 Harlem Lady C J Waller R Hutchings 9 4.50 First up run was satisfactory and can improve off that. Outside gate is a negative for this one. Will need all the breaks. Classy type resuming. Quiet trial in preparation. Has some on these and late betting is probably her truest guide. The one to hold out late. 7 Clear Ripples James Cummings Tim Clark 10 12.00 8 Stradance Mark Cross P King 2 15.00 9 Bleiler C J Waller G Schofield 6 13.00 Resumes. Middle distance type that can sprint well in a race of this nature fresh. (4:10pm) 6 - Schweppes (Bm72) (1100m) Potentially a very solid tempo here. Brooklyn Storm will be looking to cross and may bluff them out of the front - hard to beat if he gets any control. Badajoz resumes - inside gate could be make or break - will need luck. Cruise Power too bad to be true first up - back in trip and fitter now. I Can Rock and Royal Tudor the closers. PACE: Above Average. SELECTIONS: 1-4-8-5/7 1 Brooklyn Storm Bjorn Baker Deanne Panya 8 4.50 Dominant in QLD back in trip - able to get the front there and gave nothing else a look in. Will try to do similar here with the apprentice aboard. Early pressure the key. Can win again. 2 Klammer G A Ryan James P Innes 14 126.00 3 Forget Maybe A J Cummings K Mc Evoy 9 26.00 Knockout runner - shown strong ability at times and resumes. 4 I Can Rock G Portelli Tim Clark 2 8.50 5 Badajoz J A O'Shea J B Mc Donald 1 4.50 Huge first up - flew home from a poor position. Will need inside runs but can be dangerous late with even luck. Talented runner resuming. 1100m is suitable and has a short sharp sprint when on song. Inside gate means he will need even luck. Can certainly win. 6 Slydini Joseph Pride J Ford 6 16.00 7 Cruise Power C J Waller G Schofield 7 11.00 8 Royal Tudor R E Ollerton C Reith 10 8.50 Looked smart on debut. Has struggled a touch to regain that form. Forgive the first up effort and he is a very likely improver. Worth thought, especially if late money arrives. Talented closer fitter for the first up effort at Scone. Improved for this and if they over do it up front - can be strong late. 9 Magic Jewel C E Conners T Angland 5 26.00 10 Roman Warrior Ms A Turner & M Poletti Peter Wells 15 SCRATCHED 11 All The Way J & G Lee K Jennings 4 251.00 12 Remunerator R L Pearse J R Collett 13 51.00 13 Zippity Lass Ms S Grills Ms S Young 3 61.00 14 Monsieur Affaire J G Litt A Adkins 12 251.00 15 Supa Vision Rob Potter 11 SCRATCHED
(4:45pm) 7 - Tab.Com.Au (Bm67) (1600m) Open mile race to close the day. The two Godolphin runners stand out as horses right on the up. Eschiele has had the three runs - inside gate here and should get a soft trail. Divine Sanction is just second - looks a big strong type and McDonald aboard. Braces may give them something to chase at odds. Old Habits and Morello come out of a very slow pace race and are open to improvement. PACE: Average/Below Average. On the up and should get a soft run again here. Mile is a query. Not a huge fan of the jockey here - but should just head to the front and give them something to chase down. Knockout. 6 Major Major G D Hickman Matthew Mc Gillivray 1 251.00 7 New Tipperary Joseph Pride Tim Clark 6 21.00 8 Not A Gypsy P & P Snowden B Shinn 18 13.00 Big query on the depth of the races this one has been winning. Prefer to risk this time. Place best. Forgive run first up - barely more than a trial there. Query now jumping straight to the mile off such a soft run. Place preferred this time. 9 Shalmaneser Jason Attard J Penza 16 61.00 10 Divine Sanction J A O'Shea J B Mc Donald 4 4.50 Soft in the betting first up and never really in doubt. Fitter and looks a progressive horse. Can easily be winning this. 11 Triple Hero D J Nugent K Mc Evoy 8 41.00 12 Lani Girl Luke Price R Hutchings 7 21.00 13 Old Habits Kurt Goldman P King 9 12.00 14 Morello Louis Baudron G Schofield 12 14.00 Out sprinted a decent field last time off a slow pace. Still on the up and can be fit now. Chance again. Led against his previous racing style last time - even though they went slow up front, he didnt really look suited.
