SUCKING UP A SEED -. You need: pumpkin seeds, paper cups, and straws. Each child receives 1 cup, 1 straw and 5 pumpkin seeds. They then attempt to suck the seed to the end of the straw, pick it up and drop it in the cup. The first child to suck, and place all 5 seeds in cup wins. Make sure the straw opening is smaller than the seed, we do not want the seed to be sucked into the straw.(group Game) DART BALLOONS- Make a backboard out of plywood and attach inflated balloons with push pins. Many suppliers have 4" to 5" balloons specifically made for this game, along with wooden or plastic darts. Each player gets to throw three darts at the balloons. You can award prizes based on the number of balloons popped, or attach a tag to each balloon that states the prize won. This game requires alert operators; don't let kids run this game! May find some supplies at following website.http://schoolcarnival.server101.com/customer/search.php?substring=darts FISH POND - This is a classic. Player extends a small fishing pole over (or through a hole in) a screen. The operator in back of the screen attaches a prize to the line. Fishing poles can easily be made from bamboo sticks or wooden dowels with a clothespin or paper clamp on the end of a string. Paint the screen with lively underwater designs for more fun. Fishing set at following website http://schoolcarnival.server101.com/customer/search.php?substring=fishing FACE PAINTING PARATROOPER LANDING - Player throws a figure with attached parachute at prizes scattered on the floor. Player gets the prize they land nearest to. Supplies at following website. http://schoolcarnival.server101.com/customer/search.php?substring=paratrooper PING PONG SHOOTOUT - Instead of using candles, set ping pong balls on top of weighted 2 liter pop bottles. The player must shoot the ball off the bottle using a water gun. PUMPKIN GOLF - Hit the golf ball into the mouth of a pumpkin. RING TOSS - Kids stand on a line and try to toss a hula hoop around pumpkins painted with numbers (the higher numbers are further away from the starting line). Three tries for each child. The highest score wins. If you want to make it for individual play and not group game, the higher the number the better the prize. SWEET RING TOSS GAME:Materials:1.Three rings (at least 6 inches in diameter) -- these can be made out of cardboard, wooden craft rings, needlepoint rings or rings cut from coffee can lids. 2. Individually-wrapped candy and/or novelty toys 3. A plastic/vinyl table cloth (Halloween or fall colors are nice) or a bed sheet. What to do: Spread candy and toys on the table cloth on the floor. Have children take turns tossing the rings (each may have three tries) on the cloth. They "win" anything that is within the ring. You can make this game harder or easier by having children stand farther or closer to the sheet with candy. TIC TAC TOE- For the bean bag version, just mark out the lines on the sidewalk, cardboard, floor or a mat. Three in a row wins! Hula Hoop Contest - Invite kids and adults to compete in many categories such as longest time hooping, most hoops, best trick, holding-hands, etc.

Needle in the Hay Stack- Nothing says fall like fresh bales of hay, and this hay can help create a fun fall festival game for kids. To play Needle in the Hay Stack, festival coordinators should gather several bales of hay and an assortment of small fall-themed prizes. Coordinators should then spread the hay out in large piles at their booth and hide the prizes throughout the hay. Children play Needle in the Hay Stack by searching through the hay for a prize. The game ends once the child discovers a prize. May put a time limit on how long the child searches for a prize to give other children a chance to search. Donut eating contest - Use two ladders or something tall on both sides and have a string between the two, kind of looks like a clothes line. You tie a string around a plain donut (or whatever kind you like) and hang the string to the "line" above. The kids all stand in a line below their string (with donut hanging from it) and when you say GO they all try and eat the donut off the string with their hands behind their back. The first one to eat the donut before it falls to the ground wins! You can give them a small prize or something for winning. Water gun and pumpkins - A Cross and a Heart were each carved on a pumpkin. Small tea lights were inside and the goal was to shoot out the candle. Could be a race or done individually Dress up race - The object of the game is to see who gets dressed up first. Fill up two bags with clothing and accessories like; a hat, a pair of gloves, long sleeve button down shirt, spandex or draw string shorts, footsies (hospital scrubs), sunglasses etc, all found in your home. Make sure that both bags have the same amount and articles in each bag. They do not have to be the exact color or pattern but size should be the same. The craziest colors or articles the funnier. Use your own discretion in what articles to put in the bag. Pick two people to play, explain to them the rules of the game. Don't give them the bags before this will make them anxious. You then count one, two, three, throw them the bags and the race begins. The first one to finish buttoning the shirt and putting on all the articles on IS THE WINNER. The order they dress up does not matter. Bubbles-Toddlers: Bubble blowing-gather different types of wands, large and small and lots of bubble mix and let the fun begin. Painting project - Go to a local Lowes, or home depot and get scrap wood. Have them cut a variety of sizes kids can hold in there hand. Buy orange, white, yellow paint from a teachers store or Michael's, something that will wash off. Get old sponges and rags and attach them to a clothes pin. Have the kids paint a pumpkin. Now they have something to take home. Give the winner a ribbon for most original, cutest, most colorful etc. Make sure to get old button down shirts and put them backwards on the kids to avoid a mess. Nerf Challenge - Buy two Nerf guns. Two kids sit in a rolling office chair and the first one to shoot the other is the winner of that challenge. Sack Race Could use a white pillow cases and draw on leaves, pumpkins, etc. Have about 4-6 kids race at the call of GO! First person across the paper streamer line wins! See the following for sacks you could buy for this. http://www.orientaltrading.com/ui/browse/processrequest.do?demandprefix=12&sku=16/465&prodcatid =388762&mode=Browsing&erec=2&Ntx=mode%2bmatchallpartial&sp=true&source=google&Ntk=all&ms =search&requesturi=processproductscatalog&bp=10623&n=388762+1252&cm_mmc=google-_- OTC+Carnival-_-Carnival+Games-_-30b0308cd6d4403bbb806df14858d59a&sd=Potato+Sack Water Balloon Toss - Teams of 2 kids toss tiny cheap thin balloons filled with a little bit of water back and forth to each other, as long as the balloons don t burst they remain in the game but if one does burst then that team looses. Candy Corn Jar- Put candy corn in a jar and have the kids guess the number of candy corn in the jar. Winner gets jar of candy. Costume Contest (different age brackets) Lollipop tree- Have the kids pick a lollipop and if it's marked on the bottom of the stick, they get a

prize. Everyone gets to keep their lollipop no matter what. Gold Panning- Have an area that is filled with small rocks and sand that the children can sift through to find gold nuggets/small prizes. Bank-a-shot/Flukie Ball-This is a common game at carnival midways. Players try to bounce a ball off of a target on an easel-type stand and get the ball to land in a basket. You could use an art easel as the target and a plastic laundry basket set at the easel's base as your basket. Set amount in the basket gets them a prize. Make the target something fall festival related. Baseball toss- Make a target out of plywood or foam core (available at art supply stores) for baseballs. Paint the board with a fall festival design and cut out holes large enough for the baseballs to go through. Each player gets to throw three balls at the target. See the following website for an inflatable baseball target. http://www.schoolcarnivals.com/games/alphabetical.htm Brain Teasers- Have a table where parents use Brain Quest cards to ask their kids grade-appropriate questions. Bucket Toss - Attach 3 to 6 small buckets to a board about 6" apart. The player tries to toss a ball into the buckets in order, from the closest to the farthest away. A classic version of this game called "Bozo Bucket Bonanza" at the following website. http://schoolcarnival.server101.com/customer/search.php?substring=bozo Bushel basket toss - Nail 1-3 large bushel baskets onto a board. Angle the board to tilt the baskets about 45 degrees. Players try to toss a softball into the basket so it does not bounce out. Harder than it sounds! Find rubber baseballs at the following website. http://schoolcarnival.server101.com/customer/product.php?productid=73&cat=0&page=1 Duck-O-War - You have two players at either end of a small pool, long tub, or a wallpapering tray. Each player has a squirt gun and a floating duck is set in the center of the pool. The challengers try to get the duck to the opposite side of the pool to win. Football Toss - Make a target out of plywood or foam core (available at art supply stores) for small footballs. Paint the board with a fall festival design and cut out holes large enough for the footballs to go through. Each player gets to throw three footballs at the target. Inflatable football targets and soft footballs found at the following websites. http://schoolcarnival.server101.com/customer/product.php?productid=46&cat=0&page=1 For footballs http://schoolcarnival.server101.com/customer/product.php?productid=428&cat=0&page=1 Funny Photos - Paint foam core or plywood with funny bodies (circus performers, aliens, farmers, etc.) and cut out holes for faces. Take Polaroid or digital pictures. Vinyl photos and door banners are available at the following website. http://schoolcarnival.server101.com/customer/search.php?substring=door+banner Balloon stomp - Tuck a prize slip inside a small balloon and then inflate. You can write the name of the prize on the slip or just a number corresponding to a prize. Have lots of prize balloons ready and stored in plastic bags. Players choose a balloon and "stomps" it to pop it and see what their prize will be. Break-a-plate - Set up specially made carnival break-a-plates in front of a background. Players throw three rubber baseballs to try and break a plate. Can Knock Down - Stack cans in a pyramid. Each player gets to throw one to three balls at the cans. You can use tennis balls, rubber baseballs, or other types of balls for this game. You can decide if they must knock down all or just a few cans to win a prize. Hockey - Use a kids hockey set. Mark numbers with tape that corresponds to prizes. The player hits the puck with the stick and gets a prize corresponding to the number the puck lands on. Horseshoes - Player must make at least one "ringer" to get a prize (you may make it more if you would like).

Lucky key - Player selects a key from a large pile of keys and tries to unlock the "treasure" chest. Only a few keys will open the lock and get a prize. Milk can toss - Player tries to throw a baseball into a large metal milk can. Harder than it sounds! Pick My Pocket- Volunteers wear colorful aprons with lots of pockets and circulate throughout the carnival. Each pocket holds a different prize. Player gets to choose the pocket. Pie throwing Ping pong ball toss - Use cupcake pans as the targets. Color the bottom of each pan to determine the prize. See the following website for ping pong balls. http://schoolcarnival.server101.com/customer/search.php?substring=balls+-+ping+pong Pirate's chest - In a chest, put little boxes in the shape of treasure chests. Write a number inside each little box (or you can write a number on a slip of paper). The player selects a box and receivs the prize corresponding to the number. Prizes can vary according to the number. See the following website for mini treasure chests. http://schoolcarnival.server101.com/customer/product.php?productid=756&cat=0&page=1 Quarter drop - Set up an aquarium with a small container on the bottom (a treasure chest would be fun). Fill the aquarium with water and add decorations if desired. The player drops a quarter or some other small object (marbles would also work) and tries to land it in the container. Soccer Kick - Make a target out of plywood for soccer balls (or use a portable goal). Paint the board with a fall festival design and cut out holes large enough for the soccer ball to go through. Each player gets to kick three balls at the target. Inflatable soccer balls can also be used. Sponge toss - A volunteer stands behind a backboard with only their face showing through a hole. The player gets three tries to hit them in the face with a wet sponge. Put a plastic tarp in front of the backboard to keep the sponges clean. Provide goggles and maybe a poncho to your brave volunteer. You can even have two lines, one to throw sponges and one to be the target! Surprise bag / grab bag - Put a small prize in a bag. Have the player choose one bag. You could also use candy bags. Pin the tail on the donkey Tattoo Parlor - Temporary tattoos are inexpensive and quick to apply. You can set it up next to the face painting and hair spray for a whole "beauty parlor" effect. See the following website for kid friendly tattoos. http://schoolcarnival.server101.com/customer/search.php?substring=tattoos Surprise wall - Build a plywood wall (about 5' tall and 4' wide) with six small doors. The player opens a door and gets the prize that has been set on a ledge behind the door. For an extra surprise, have the operator (behind the wall) spray Silly String at some players. Watch out for little ones that might be scared by the spray. The wall can be painted to match the fall festival theme. If you're not handy with a paintbrush, you can decoupage magazine pictures or large stickers to the wall.
