Pageant Contestant Information This year we have registered with KY Festivals Pageants and our pageant is a preliminary to that. It is not mandatory however; we would love for our winners to represent Spencer County at the state level. This is an open pageant. Babies (0-36mo) We will categorize them into groups depending on ages we have entered. Babies are to wear Sunday dress. Tiny Tots(4-5), and Little Mr. &Ms(6-8).pageants will be on October 5 th. Contest begins at 6:45 pm at the Chamber of Commerce Bldg. Pre-Teens(9-12), Jr. Miss (13-15), Miss Teen(16-18), and Miss(19-21)Pageants will be on October 3 rd beginning at 6:45 at the Chamber of Commerce Bldg.The order will be Miss, followed by Miss Teen, Jr. Miss, and then Pre-Teens. Little Mr& Miss, Tiny-Tots, will practice beginning at 1:30pm.Sunday October 1 st. Miss, Teen Miss, JrMiss and Pre- Teen begins at 3:00pm Tiny-Tot, Little Mr&Ms are required to dress in Sunday Best. They do not have to be a couple. 1 girl and 1 boy will be chosen. Pre-Teen and Jr. Miss are required to wear Sunday or cocktail type dresses, Miss and Teen Miss will be required to wearformal dresses. All entries can be mailed to Spencer County Octoberfest P.O. Make checks payable to the Spencer County Octoberfest. THERE WILL NOT BE A QUESTION ASKED ON STAGE! There will be Judge s interviews with Jr. Ms., Teen Miss, and Miss the day of practice. Please come dressed in a white top and black bottoms. This year we will be charging an entry fee of 2.00 per adult. Each contestant will receive 1 free ticket. Children are free. Tickets will be given on day of practice or if hand delivering application. The following rules are the rules of the KY Festivals Pageants. The Spencer County Octoberfest pageants are a preliminary. However, we will not be as strict as tags in dresses and texting to see if certain dresses or clothing is allowed, we do ask you to read these rules. Our judges will judge according to these rules with hair and make-up and dress for appropriate ages, please keep your child age appropriate. Also, if it says Sunday dress, please do Not wear pageant or glitzy dresses, points will be deducted. We are trying to make this as fair as possible to all who enter.
0 2 Years 1. Attire can have stones or sequins, MUST have a tag present inside. You can text photos to the above number if you have questions. Custom gowns are not permitted for this age bracket. If you have questions or are unsure you can always text a photo of gown and tag to 859 625 8490. Short or long are permitted, just make sure they can walk easily in the long gown. Babies should always have a diaper cover over their diaper. Socks and shoes are a personal preference, but it's suggested to never wear black shoes for beauty competition. It's highly suggested for them to have a short cupcake type dress if possible. 2. Light makeup may be worn. Definition of light makeup (not suggested for 0 11 months) light powder, lip gloss, clear or light mascara, light blush 3. HAIR PIECES are strictly prohibited. This includes pony or hair clip in extensions. 4. SPRAY TANS are strictly prohibited. You may NOT spray tan a child in this age bracket. 5. Fake nails or gel nails are not permitted in this age bracket. This goes for feet and hands. A clear or light polish is permitted. 6. It is never suggested for the contestants to do any type of "routine" modeling with the "duck" face or other glitz moves. We are not toddlers and tiaras, we want to see the natural personality of the contestants. Waving or blowing a kiss is fine. 7. Hands on hip is totally fine in this age bracket. 8. Parents are permitted always to come on stage with the child 9. Each parent wishing to enter the ballroom or area where pageant is held must purchase an arm band or admission ticket. 10. All contestants entered in the girls divisions, must be a natural born female. 11. All will compete as of their age at the pageant, even if having a birthday before state or nationals. It's always suggested to keep a copy of the birth certificate on hand, do NOT submit to us. 12. Last and not least SPORTSMANSHIP. If there is poor sportsmanship by a parent or family member of a contestant, not only do you set a bad example, but the contestant could be relinquished of title and all prizes going with that title. This includes behavior in the dressing area, outside the facility, inside the facility, in the ballroom, or back stage. If there is poor sportsmanship by a parent or family member of a contestant, not only do you set a bad example, but the contestant could be relinquished of title and all prizes going with that title. All gowns must be floor length for this age bracket and should not have a front split or "hi low" style. Dresses should graze the floor and never see the foot or shoe. 2. A heavier full makeup is allowed, just remember to keep it age appropriate. All aspects of makeup but in a reasonable manner. Still no FAKE lashes in this age bracket. 3. HAIR PIECES are strictly prohibited. This includes pony or hair clip in extensions. 4. SPRAY TANS are strictly prohibited. You may NOT spray tan a child in this age bracket. For 8 12 if they wanted to use a tinted lotion such as Jergens that would be permitted for a warmer tone. But not a full spray tan! 5. Very short acrylic or gel nails are permitted, just not too long or grown up. 6.In the 8 12 preteen division they will be judged more on their poise and projection while modeling. Remember less "younger" type modeling and more grace and eye contact with judges. Be relaxed and show your personal style and inner beauty. This is your chance to shine. If there is an onstage question for this age bracket, you will be notified ahead of time and an actual list of questions will be given. 7. Hands on hip is totally fine in this age bracket. I would only suggest to do this a minimum of times. 8. Parents are never suggested on stage with the contestant in these ages. 9. Each parent wishing to enter the ballroom or area where pageant is held must purchase an arm band or admission ticket. 10. In the teen and older custom gowns are a relative term, Sherri Hill or Tony Bowls may have a "custom" gown but it's still a national designer found in stores. You can text photos to the above number if you have questions. Custom gowns are permitted for this age bracket. If you have questions or are unsure you can always text a photo of gown and tag to 859 625 8490. All gowns must be floor length for this age bracket and Teen 13 15 should not have a front split or "hi low" style. Dresses should graze the floor and never see the foot or shoe. The styling of 16 and up for Miss and older are the contestants choice, but still floor length gown for evening gown competition. 2. Full makeup is allowed again remember on younger teens to be more age appropriate. Lashes are permitted in this age bracket. 3."Natural Looking" hair extensions are permitted in this age bracket. 4. SPRAY TANS are permitted in this age bracket. Just keep in mind you should still look natural, nothing worse than an orange spray tan :/ 5.Acrylic or gel nails are permitted, just not too long or grown up. 6.Girls may have an on stage question, if this is the case you will be notified ahead of time and given a list of the actual questions to practice. 7. Hands on hip is totally fine in this age bracket. I would only suggest to do this a minimum of times. 8. Parents or loved ones are never suggested on stage with the contestant in these ages. 9.
