VISION By providing high-quality and innovative arts education and training, taught by professional artists, the city of Aurora s Cultural Arts program will create a new generation of artists, patrons, community members and informed citizens and will provide an avenue of expression for young people who are often denied a voice. FINE ART AND MUSIC The city of Aurora classes in visual art and music are designed to nurture individual creativity, encourage collaboration, and give participants the chance to explore new and sometimes different experiences in the arts. ART CAMPS Half day camps are offered June and July for one week at a time, Monday through Thursday. Camp participants should bring their own snacks and drink each day. ACCELERATE! 2017 SUMMER DANCE INTENSIVE Ages 10-18 This 3-week intensive is offered 6 days a week and is geared toward dedicated students whose concentration is accelerating to the highest level of dance training during the summer months. Learn about storytelling, improvisation, script writing, acting and characterization. Develop lifelong learning skills, such as listening, reading, writing, memorization, concentration and team work. Students in the following camps are expected to attend each class and to memorize their lines by the deadline prior to the performance date. Theatre performances and demonstrations are held on the last day of class during the class period. Seating is limited to two or three spots per student depending upon the size of the class and the venue. Students should bring water bottles and snacks and dress for movement (sneakers, shorts or pants etc.) These are half day camps that meet over the course of one to three weeks, Mondays through Fridays.
