Here you will also find a wonderful nature, clean air and silence. The day starts with a snowmobile ride to a husky farm. Combined snowmobile & husky safari is a great opportunity to experience our two popular winter activities! This snowmobile safari takes you to visit energetic huskies via the most beautiful scenic route in Vuokatti. We drive with a brand new 2016 model snowmobiles. A husky safari is a truly thrilling experience, especially when you have the chance to be a musher in control of your own team of dogs. You will also enjoy hot drinks & snacks in a cozy guesthouse. After safari we will be leaving to Sotkamo village for a lunch in a Chinese restaurant, Dragon King, and a short excursion in the village by feet.
Vuokatti is famous for its year round both, ski and snowboard, tunnels. Inside ski tunnel in Vuokatti was the first of a kind in the world! During this part on excursion you will be visiting both of these tunnels. In snowboard tunnel you can experience being young again and try snow tubing down the hill. Also during this program, you can participate in a fun lesson for cross-country skiing. First you will be given all you may need for cross country skiing, after which a ski coach will show the right technique. After long and active day outdoors we will have some snacks and head to Sauna World in Katinkulta Spa to relax and enjoy. Women and men have separated saunas, except the Smoke Sauna which is open to all and located next to the outdoor pool. While visiting the Smoke Sauna you can also enjoy the hot tubs. The spa has more than 20 pools: an outdoor pool, jacuzzis, counter-currents, massaging showers, a fountain, and, of course, a waterslide. We will finish our day with a delicious dinner. After breakfast your first program in Vuokatti starts today you will meet huskies and experience dog sledding. Vuokatti Safaris husky kennel invites you to come and join in the magic of sled dog driving. Adults and teenagers can safely drive themselves, whilst children sit warmly on board the sled. Feel the excitement build as the dogs are harnessed and put into their running teams. Vuokatti Safaris experienced guides will teach you the basics of driving a husky sled, before setting you off on our Nuppu and Nallo winter trail. This trail is 0,5 km long and we ll drive it several rounds. Incl. safari outfit and driving & safety instructions; hot drinks. This easy snowmobile safari will take place at lake nearby where everybody will have an opportunity to try snowmobiling. After a short ride, our experienced fishing guide will lead you to his best fishing spots where fish are waiting to be caught. You start by chopping up a hole in the ice this is already a fun experience and after that you can start fishing! The fish native to this area are trout, perch, pike and pike perch hopefully you catch some! After fishing, hop back on snowmobiles and drive back to the Safari Center.
