A back-up hard copy must be delivered to Wedgewood Country Club by Friday, July 4 at Noon. Entries and entry times will not be changed after the entry deadline. All efforts will be made to correct any errors made by the host team to properly seed any affected swimmers. Each swimmer may swim a maximum of 4 events, with a maximum of 3 individual events or 2 relays. A swimmer may move up an age group to complete a relay but not to improve it. If there are 4 swimmers in an age group, younger swimmers are not allowed to move up for a relay. Teams may use aggregate times for relay entries.
MEET DETAILS The prelim tri-meets will be run like a normal dual meet. Each host site will organize the bullpen, timers, runners, scoring table, awards, finish judges, and officials. Team areas will be designated by the host. Each team will need to provide volunteers as designated by the host (bullpen, scoring table, awards). Each team will provide one official and one timer for each lane so that there are 3 timers for each lane. Dolphin stopwatches will be used. There will be no finish judges. Swimmers MUST have their first initial and last name marked on the back left shoulder, and the team name on the back right shoulder. Each host site may produce and sell heat sheets at their discretion. Hospitality: determined by each host site, in keeping with regular meet expectations. Awards: Placement ribbons for 1 st -18 th place. Participant ribbons for all other swimmers (1 per athlete). Award availability determined by each host site. No scoring will occur at prelims. Each host site may choose to post results during the prelim meet. Qualifiers: Swimmers placing 1 st and 2 nd in each event automatically qualify for the Championship meet (8 total). The next 12 fastest times from all 4 sites combined will also qualify for the Championship meet (20 total swimmers in each event at Finals). Coaches and swimmers will be notified of the at large qualifiers ASAP. CHAMPIONSHIP MEET Monday, July 14, 2008 Ohio State University 15-18 SWIMMERS-TIMED FINALS NO 6&UNDER SWIMMERS HOSTED BY: LOCATION: FACILITY: TIMES: PARKING: ADMISSION: HEAT SHEETS: CHECK-IN: VOLUNTEERS: DECK ACCESS: Wedgewood Golf & Country Club The Ohio State University McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion Two 25 meter, 10 lane pools for warm-ups. The center pool will be used for the competition. Computer scoring and electronic timing with touchpads, back-up system, and manual watches. The entire facility is smoke-free. Only drinking water is permitted in the pool area. Each team will be assigned a team area on the pool deck for their swimmers and coaches. Spectators are not permitted on the pool deck. The north pool will remain open for warm-up/cool-down. Check-in: starts at 3:45 pm Warm-ups begin at 4:30 pm. Meet starts at 6:00 pm. See full schedule below. Guests should park at the Neil Ave. garage, entering from Neil Ave., just north of 12 th Ave. Special event fee=$5. No admission fee will be charged. A fee will be charged for heat sheets. Swimmer check-in will be at the facility entrance nearest the parking garage, and NOT at the main facility entrance. Volunteer check-in will be in the lobby at the main entrance to the facility. Only coaches, officials, swimmers and meet workers will be permitted on the pool deck. Other than swimmers, everyone on deck must display either a deck pass or a hand stamp. NO FOOD OR DRINK ON DECK: A Concession stand will be operating along with a hospitality room for the coaches and officials.
BANNERS: CONCESSIONS: One professionally made banner per team is permitted. This MUST be turned in to the OSU staff for hanging. Concessions will be provided in the lobby area by The Hills Market. No food/beverage is to be carried in (except water by swimmers). PHOTOGRAPHY: Provided by Eastham Photography. There will be a table set-up in the lobby. Photos taken by reservation. Coaches will be given Photo Reservation forms to distribute to swimmers returning to finals. Photos are viewed and purchased on-line following the event. APPAREL: SWIM VENDOR: Northwest Designs. Will be at each Prelim site as well as Champs. A CCSL logo will be applied to a variety of apparel options. NO PREORDERS REQUIRED! Greenhouse Aquatics will be available in the lobby. LOCKER ROOMS: Available to all participating swimmers, with access through the Northwest deck doors. Swimmers are not permitted beyond the locker/lower lobby area. Individuals are responsible for their own valuables LOST&FOUND: A lost and found will be located near the meet management room. FIRST AID/EMERGENCIES: The staff and guards at OSU will handle any first aid or emergency situations. HOSPITALITY: ENTRIES: ENTRY CHAIR: RULES: A hospitality room will be available for coaches and officials off the pool deck. Swimmers MUST have participated in AT LEAST ONE CCSL DUAL MEET to be eligible for CCSL prelims/champs. Frank Croft (croft.3@osu.edu) The current swimming Technical rules (USA) will govern the competition except where superseded by CCSL rules. ORDER OF EVENTS: Please see attached sheets. TEAM AREAS: Each team will be provided bleachers and on-deck seating for their athletes, coaches, and parent supervisors. Team areas will be assigned based on team size. Team area supervisors are expected to monitor swimmer conduct, ensure cleanliness of the area, remind swimmers when they are to report to the bullpen or blocks, and escort swimmers to the locker rooms as needed. Please clean up your area after the meet.
BULLPEN: SEEDING: RESULTS: There will be a bullpen for 12 and under swimmers on the east side of the pool deck near the bulkhead. For all events, a timer in each lane will verify the swimmers name from the heat sheet. There are NO deck entries. All events will be swum as timed finals, seeded based on times from the prelim meets. Results will be posted and updated throughout the meet. SCORING: Individual events: 24,21,20,19,18,17,16,15,14, 13,11, 9,8, 7,6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Anyone who swims may place ANYWHERE. Relay Events: 48,42,40,38,36,34,32,30,28, 26, 22, 18 AWARDS: TIMERS: OFFICIALS: Trophies will be awarded for first through tenth place for individual events (including 6&Unders from the timed finals at Prelims), and for first through sixth place for relays. Ribbons will be awarded for eleventh through twentieth place for individual events, and for seventh through twelfth place for relays. First place and runner-up team trophies will be presented at the end of the meet. NOTE: NO AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN OUT AT THE MEET. Awards will be delivered to each Club on Tuesday, July 15. The Timers Meeting will be held 30 minutes prior to the start of the meet. Randy Early is the Meet Referree. OFFICIALS MEETING: All Officials will need to report to the Officials meeting for assignment. The officials meeting will be held 45 minutes prior to the start of the meet in the hospitality room. COACHES MEETING: Coaches meeting will be held 30 minutes before the start of the meet. CONDUCT: Please remember we are guests of The Ohio State University.
