Disclaimer This game is intentional tipped in the zombies favor If you are a human and the game seems unfair it is supposed to be A zombie apocolypse would be hard However, if the humans do well at missions they can win perks that will make it more balanced (still not fair though)
HvZ Rules & Regulations Humans vs. Zombies is a game of tag. All players begin as humans and one human is randomly chosen to be the Original Zombie (OZ). The OZ tags human players and turns them into Zombies. *Ignore the rules on the HvZ source website. This slide show is law and can be found on myjessup.
The Winner The Zombies win when all human players have been tagged and turned into Zombies. The Humans win by surviving and succeeding in the final mission.
Moderators Moderators are the official rule keepers of the game (referees) What they say goes If anyone is disrespecting the moderators they will be removed from the game Moderators will be wearing a bright Yellow fanny pack or a blue student life staff name tag
Required Equipment Bandana- This helps show if you are a Human or Zombie Foam Dart Blaster- Used by humans to stun Zombies Balled socks- Used by humans to stun Zombies (Only One Tape Layer Allowed) Player ID Card- Your personal ID number to give to a Zombie if tagged Wristband- This shows you have filled out a waiver to play
Prohibited Equipment: Sock Flails - A tube sock with a tennis ball/or multiple socks stuffed into the tube sock Nerf Swords or Axes Your Nerf Blaster as a melee Blowguns (choking hazard) Thrown blaster darts Socks wrapped more than once around with tape bows and arrows
The Golden Rule Don t Be THAT GUY Everyone plays HvZ to have fun. Remember, this is just a game! These rules only exist because we all agree that they do. The most important rule in HvZ is to treat your fellow players with respect and gracefully accept when you have been tagged or stunned.
Safe Zones: While inside any of these safe zones, Humans are safe from being tagged and Zombies are safe from being stunned: Library Dorms (Excludes Balconies) Inside an Apartment Crossroads Café Shack Music Rooms Commons Student Union Academic Courtyard *also any orange tapped areas outside door ways Student Life Edrington Any Classroom Faculty Offices Activities Warehouse Chapel Administration Office Anywhere indoors off campus Walmart, Target, starbucks, etc.
Off Limits During missions outside of the ring road is prohibited unless stated otherwise in your mission briefing All windows on campus are off limits no players can climb through any windows Certain doors are off limits to HvZ humans. These doors are marked with a blue tapped X. Emergency doors are also off limits. If you use any of these doors or windows you will immediately join Team Zombie If a zombie sees a human use one of these doors or a window the zombie can collect the humans I.D. card as if they had tagged them If a mod sees a human use one of these doors or a window the mod will collect their I.D. card as well
CHAPEL From 9:20am - 9:30am and from 10:20am 10:30 am on Wednesday and Friday, HvZ will be on pause for Chapel. 10 minute safe walk before and after Monday night chapel (7:50-8pm, and 9-9:10 pm) 10 minute safe walk before and after your SFG
Safe Humans : You must have both feet securely inside the safe zone to be considered safe. Tie goes to the human. You are allowed to stun a zombie from a safe zone if they are outside. Zombies: You must have both feet securely inside the safe zone to be considered safe. You are not allowed to tag a human while they are inside a safe zone. You are not live if you tag a human from inside.
Required Academic Events: Students that are required to attend academic events are safe for the duration of the event (even if the event is in a free-play zone) but they are not safe on the way to or from the event.
Human Rules On Day one Humans can only use 6 shooter guns and socks. After the first mission all Humans will be upgraded. Stunning a Zombie Humans stun a Zombie for 8 minutes by blasting them with a dart blaster or throwing a sock at them You are not allowed to use the Nerf Gun itself as a melee weapon to be considered as a stun
Wearing a Bandana Humans must wear a Bandana around their arm visibly to identify them as players of the game at all times Failure to abide by this rule will result in disqualification
Work Rules You may take off your bandana while you are at work. Humans are only Safe At Work not to and from
When tagged by a Zombie When tagged by a Zombie, a Human is required to provide their ID number to the Zombie. you are now a member of the Zombie Team!
Zombie Rules The Zombie team must wear a bandana around their head at all times When stunned, drop your headband around your neck
Tagging A tag is a firm touch to any physical part of their body (this includes hair and backpacks). A confirmed tag excludes nerf guns After tagging a Human, the Zombie must collect their ID card. Tags must be reported within 2 hours*. Tags are reported on the HVZsource website. *This rule is for feeding purposes. If a tag is not reported within 2 hours the human is still dead
Feeding Zombies must feed every 48 hours. A Zombie feeds by reporting their tags on the HvZ Source Website. A Zombie may choose two other Zombies to join in on the feed
Getting Shot When shot with a dart blaster or hit with a sock, a Zombie is stunned for 8 minutes. A stunned Zombie may not interact with the game in anyway This includes shielding other Zombies from bullets or continuing to run toward a human
Getting Shot If a zombie is re-shot while already stunned the stun time does not restart Before rejoining the game from being stunned, you must go into a safe zone, put your bandana back on then join. Stunned Zombies may not follow humans and must leave the immediate area of where they were stunned. You must remove yourself from sight from the group of humans that you were engaged with and stunned by for the full 8 minutes of your stun
Original Zombie The Original Zombie (OZ) follows all of the same rules as a regular Zombie except for a few differences The OZ becomes infected at 12:01am on Monday, April, 3rd They will wear a bandana on their arm, like a Human, until they are revealed on HVZ Source The OZ is revealed after they have tagged 3 Humans or at 9pm on Monday, April 3rd at the Mission Briefing.
Non-Players Blasting non-players with darts or socks is a BANNABLE OFFENSE. If you are at work, you are considered a non player and you may not interact with the game People who are not registered participants may not directly interact with the game. This includes: Bringing food to Humans Spying on or for either teams Blocking tactics
Class Attendance As a participant of Humans vs. Zombies, you are required to attend your classes. If moderators get word you are ditching class because of game-play, you will be removed from play. Professors are aware of game play and have been encouraged to let us know if you have been ditching class! Professor have also been given citations to distribute if needed
Faculty Citations If your game play becomes disruptive to a class session you are in or if you are late to class a professor can hand you a citation. At the professor's discretion. The Professor will write down the time their class ended on the citation and you will have 10 minutes to return the citation to the office of student life If you fail to return the citation in time a human will join team zombie and a zombie will starve as a penalty If a gray area presents itself we will most likely side with the professor For every 10 human citations student life receives we will release 1 faculty alpha zombie.
Faculty alpha zombie A faculty alpha zombie acts as another OZ but with a few exceptions They can not be stunned so there is no point in shooting them or hitting them with socks They do not wear a bandana They can only tag 3 humans and then they starve They will starve after a certain amount of time determined by the activities staff. No more than a day.
Missions Players are required to attend 2 missions and the final mission. There is no limit to how many missions you can participate in. all players will get a free walk to the night missions (5 minutes before the scheduled mission) Missions Locations & Times: Humans: Monday-9pm in the Student Union Tuesday-8pm in the Student Union Wednesday- 8pm in the Student Union» Day Mission - 12:30 pm in middlestead plaza Thursday- 8pm in the Student Union Friday- 6pm in the Student Union Zombies: Monday- 9pm in A103 Tuesday- 8pm in A103 Wednesday- 8pm in A103» Day mission - 2:30 pm at Middlestead Plaza Thursday- 8pm in A103 Friday- 6pm in the Student Union
Missions continued There will be multiple submissions throughout the week that we do not give you the details on in advance. We will communicate the details of this mission through our text service and other appropriate means. The winning team of every mission will receive a perk/reward that will aid their success in the game
Human Perks Pack-a-Punch Survivor can now use guns larger than 6 bullets Duration: Lasts all week after monday s mission Juggernaut Humans need to be tagged with two hands in order to be turned Morning Sunshine Serum Bring friends back from the dead Invisibility Humans are invisible and can not be tagged when in a group of 10 or more people that keep physical contact at all times Power grenades Socks stun the zombie they hit as well as one other zombie of the human s choice. The second zombie has to be within 10 feet of the first zombie at that time the first zombie is hit with the sock in order to be chosen by the human. The choosing of the second zombie has to take place immediately after the stunning of the first zombie. Flash Bang Grenades Socks stun zombies for 20 minute instead of 8 *Perks only last for the amount of time decided by the activities staff
Zombie Perks Juggernaut Mutation Zombie has to be shot twice in order to be stunned (2 socks as well) Bullet proof Can only be stunned by socks Human Buffet All zombies fed *Perks only last for the amount of time decided by the activities staff
Checkpoints A human survivor must report to the checkpoint table at least 3 times to qualify for the final mission Check ins are separate from Missions Can only be done once a day Each day, a table will be set up RANDOMLY around campus * some days more than once We do not tell you where the checkpoints are unless this information is rewarded at a mission
Storyline Videos Storyline videos will be released each morning on the jessuplife facebook page You will need to watch the storyline videos as they affects the game If you do not have a facebook account you can still view our page
