1. STAR OF WINGED LION: THE YACHT STAR OF WINGED LION is an Oceanis 38 Beneteau sailing yacht built in 2016, with its current home base in Porto San Rocco, Trieste, Italy. The yacht is of an utmost modern design providing the highest sailing qualities under all conditions, being an excellent cruiser as well as a racing vessel. STAR OF WINGED LION was built in France, and delivered in Gruissan FR on March 21, 2016. From April 07 to May 1, 2016 Star of Winged Lion sailed from Gruissan to Trieste, Italy, where it is based today. STAR OF WINGED LION is registered in the Port of Hamburg and currently sails under the Flag of Germany. 2. STAR OF WINGED LION: VALUES STAR OF WINGED LION is a symbol of lifestyle and life joy, which limits are where the freedom and integrity of others beginn. The Star of Winged Lion encourages the nominated Team and Crew members to embrace the Core values as part of the life at sea and on shore The core values are: i. Respect ii. Honesty iii. Fairness iv. Tenacy v. Joy of life Star of Winged Lion honours non violence and rejects any kind of war act, terrorist act, and any other violent action. Star of Winged Lion is politically neutral and respects all human races and religions in the world equally. 3. The Barcolana is a historic international sailing regatta taking place every year in the Gulf of Trieste on the second Sunday of October. The Barcolana is one of the most crowded regattas in the world, which draw in record number of participants 1968 - in 2002. In 2016, the number of participants achieved was 1752. Thanks to its particular formula, the Barcolana is a unique event on the international sailing stage: on the same starting line, expert sailors and sailing lovers race side by side on boats of different sizes divided into several categories according to their overall length. The Barcolana is not an event for sailors only, but it involves the whole city of Trieste attracting many tourists from abroad. Every year about 25,000 sailors take part in the race and more than 250,000 spectators watch the Barcolana from the Trieste seafront, known as the Rive, and from the Karst highland. Thanks to the particular configuration of the territory around the Gulf of Trieste, spectators can enjoy the race from numerous observation points as if sitting in a natural sailing stadium. The Barcolana is not only the regatta on Sunday morning, but includes several events involving the sea and the city during ten days. The Barcolana is present all over the city, but the main attraction is the "Barcolana Village", a village of stands along the Rive of Trieste offering food and wine areas, areas dedicated to the sponsors and exhibitions of sailing and other equipment and products. The Barcolana Regatta Event is covered by local, regional, national and international broad media as well as sailing sports media worldwide. 4. THE CREW, THE HOMEBASE, THE HEADQUARTERS, THE EXPERIENCE STAR OF WINGED LION has been accepted as official participant for the 49th Barcolana Regatta 2017. A Crew has been recruited for the event including an on shore team and an on board crew. Team and Crew will be constituted by approximately 8-10 members, of which a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 members will be on board. The participants must follow the Star of Winged Lion Code of Conduct during the full period of the competition, which includes wearing the Crew and Team Wear on Board and on Shore. All Crew members are amateur sailors however high ranking professionals in the business of management, design and engineering. During the Barcolana, Star of Winged Lion will maintain a homebase at Porto San Rocco in Trieste. The Crew of Star of Winged Lion will hold meetings at the Star of Winged Lion Headquarters, an apartment in the Center of the City of Trieste, with a high visibility from one of the most transited squares in the city. A banner of Star of Winged Lion with the Logos of the Main Sponsors will be visible during the entire competition. The Barcolana Experience is a unique major event comparable with an Olympic game or a football European or World Cup. We recommend our sponsors to attend the event if possible, and would be very happy to assist in the search for accommodation if a participation is communicated in due course. If the Sponsor wishes to provide members to participate as crew, this shall be communicated immediately and prior to 20.05.2017. Otherwise a participation as crew cannot be guaranteed. 5. ADVANTAGES FOR THE SPONSOR Obviously, the winner takes it all. Every year, the three most competitive yachts will gain the main atention of the media during the event, and during the race, they will be covered by the media from all angles. Beyond that, however, every other sailing yacht will receive the same attention, and it is obvious, that yachts carrying sponsorship will stand out from the crowd. The Star of Winged Lion, being a new yacht, with a strong color design and most modern streamlined shape that makes it unique and outstanding, has gained the "wow" reaction of thousands of spectators and sailors alike. The professional appearance of the crew and the international coverage through own media relations makes the offer to the sponsor a great added value for a reasonable cost that makes the Sponsorship worth. In addition, the crew and yacht will be covered by swiss media and other media coverage. In November 2016, Marina.ch, a Swiss national sailing magazine, issued a two pages full color coverage on the performance of the Star of Winged Lion at the Barcolana. participation, including trailers, short reports, etc.. And of course, full website, facebook, instagram and other media coverage will be guaranteed. For the year 2017, a live transmission through facebook from the Yacht is planned, and a live follow-up through other media is being sought. 6. SPONSORING PROPOSAL, LEVEL OF SPONSORSHIP The Star of Winged Lion offers a wide range of sponsorship display possibilities. Different levels of sponsorship are offered. These are: LIGHT OF THE SEAS PARTNER This level of Sponsorship is available as a one year agreement. Price: 4 000.- Payable at agreement signature. Sponsorship package includes: a. WELCOME PACKAGE A welcome package to all Crew and Team members will be handed out at the arrival in Trieste, TO include the Crew and Team Wear, a towel set, and a few other useful presents. The Sponsor will be allowed to add own Paraphernalia and give-aways to the welcome package, increasing its visibility towards Team and Crew of Star of Winged Lion. A list of items will be sent to the Sponsor in due course for definition where the Sponsor wishes to include their logo (Please be aware, that some articles might include alcoholic beverages such as Prossecco). b. CREW AND TEAM WEAR i. ON SHORE WEAR (TEAM AND CREW) Polo shirts, softshell jacket or stepp-jacket, base cap, towel Shirt and Jacket: Breast left or right placement of logo and name of Sponsor (stitching or printing) at reasonable size. Base cap: side sponsor's logo printed or stitched ii. ON BOARD WEAR (CREW ONLY) In addition to On shore wear, race shirts carrying the Sponsor's Logo in the same manner A selection of elegant branded items including the sponsor s logo will be provided to team and crew. All crew and team members will be allowed to retain the wear and use it on other occasions, which will increase the visibility of the sponsor beyond the race and event. c. TEAM AND CREW INSTRUCTIONS AND DOCUMENTS The Team and Crew will receive a number of documents prior to the race such as Team and Crew Notice of Race, and other documents. During the race, a daily program will be issued indicating the obligatory and optional activities of the day. In all these documents the presence of the Sponsor (Name and Logo) on header or footer will be guaranteed. PLATINUM PARTNER This level of Sponsorship is offered on a one year agreement. A multiple year agreement is possible and a proposal can be worked out. Price: 7 500.- Payable at agreement signature. Sponsorship package include all the above and: d. HEADQUARTERS PRESENCE A Banner of Star of Winged Lion will be hung at the Headquarters Balcony towards Piazza Goldoni at the City Center. The banner shall carry the Logos and/or name of Sponsors as per Level of Sponsorship e. PARTICIPANTS PRIZE Star of Winged Lion will provide a small but representative prize to all Team and Crew members. The prize will carry the Logos and/or name of Sponsors as per Level of Sponsorship f. POST RACE DINNER After the Race, a celebration dinner will be held for all Crew and Team members at an exclusive location. The Invitation to the Dinner and signs at the location shall carry the Logos and/ or name of Sponsors and Level of Sponsorship The winner takes it all. g. MAINSAIL If included in the Level of Sponsorship, the Mainsail will carry the name and / or Logo of the Sponsor on a substantial and very well visible size. As the Mainsail will be open at all times during competition, all media targeting the vessel will be depicting the Logo even if focused from far away. PREMIUM SINGLE PARTNER This level of sponsorship is offered for a period of one or three years. Price: 11 000.- for one year, or 30 000.- for the three years. The Sponsorship costs are to be paid at agreement signature for the one year package, or in an advance payment of 30% of the full cost at agreement signature, and yearly payments of 10%, 30% and 30% of the full cost 60 days prior to the specific event each year. This package will be provided exclusively for one sponsor only. Sponsorship package includes all the above, and: h. GENNAKER SAIL If the corresponding level of sponsorship is desierd and selected in due time, the Gennaker Sail will carry the Logo of the Sponsor centered on the sail in a large and very visible position. If the sponsorship agreement is closed in due course and prior to 30.05.2017, the color combination of the gennaker sail might resemble the color of the Sponsor's CI. OPTION 1: UNIQUE PARTNER Star of Winged Lion does not offer Hull Sponsorship Placement. However, this long term option can be assessed and a cost proposal can be provided if desired. OPTION 2: BARCOLANA VILLAGE STAND This Option is provided on a one year agreement. The price of the Option 2 depends from the size and location of the Stand. The prices start at 4 500.- for the duration of the event and the smallest Stand. a cost and stand size and location shall be provided upon selection and availability If the sponsorship is confirmed in due time, a Barcolana Village Stand could be secured. In such case, the Star of Winged Lion might be mooring at the main pier in front of the City Centre and Village Event Centre during the main part of the event period. As part of this, the Star of Winged Lion will be decorated with large flags carrying the name and Logo of the Sponsor. The staffing and equipment of the Barcolana Village Stand must be provided by the Sponsor. 7. SPONSORSHIP MEDIA PRESENCE Star of Winged Lion guarantees the corresponding presence of the Sponsor stating the name, logo, and level of sponsorship in all own media appearances. Apart from all documents related to the race issued by Star of Winged Lion, these include a 20-30min documentary movie, snapshots and trailers, website presence, facebook site and online transmitions, and any other media appearance as far as this is directly produced and controlled by Star of Winged Lion.
