These helpers will be keeping the younger children entertained backstage when they are not performing. We understand that it may be difficult for the parents of younger children to not accompany your child backstage. Please rest assured, they are in good hands and this policy is for the safety of all the performers. Performance Rules We would like to make this performance a fun and rewarding experience for everyone involved. Therefore, the following rules will be in affect on performance day. No food or drink in the theater. This is a strict policy of the school. No flash photography or video filming allowed during the performance. Please stay seated during the performance. SAFETY WARNING: *Please note, during the Wizard of Oz performance, strobe lights will be used from time to time.

Stage Make-up Instructions For Performers Regardless of age, all students participating in the performance are required to wear make-up. Stage lights wash out most facial features, therefore every performer should wear foundation, blush, and mascara. Girls may add neutral toned eye shadow (preferably browns or mauves) and red lipstick. If you choose, you may add lip liner and eyeliner. Make-up should be a bit heavy but we would like our performers to look young and beautiful! There will be no make-up allowed backstage for ages 12 & under. This policy will be strictly enforced. Please apply make-up on your dancer before check in. Hair Instructions for Night Show and Combo Students These dancers should wear their hair pulled back away from the face (styled as parent chooses). Please, no extra clips, or tiaras! Be sure to secure all included hairpieces with bobby pins! Company Members are to wear their company specified hair style for the Nigh Show. Hair Instructions for Ballet Classes Level I and Up These dancers are required to wear a ballet bun with no bangs. The instructions for a ballet bun are as follows: A ballet bun should be very secure. To create this look, it is best to start with wet or slightly damp hair. 1) Comb hair straight; use a palm full of hair gel and comb through hair thoroughly. 2) Pull hair back into a tight ponytail and secure with a thick hair band. 3) Twist hair around and form into a bun. 4) Place a hair net of the same color as your hair around the bun and wrap tightly. 5) Insert several bobby pins into the bun. It is best to start with the pin going away from the bun and then back toward the head and into the bun. Your bun should be tight and secure! Be sure you can move your head around freely without the bun coming loose. Cut and Paste the link below to watch a YouTube video on make-up and hair. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lc2aizpvlg
