UNLV had five players score in double digits, including Romel Beck with 13 and Demetrius Hunter with 12. The Rebels built a 60-44 lead, their largest, with 11:48 left in the game. The Tigers cut the lead to 72-66 with 2:59 left, but came no closer. Brandon Robinson and Ronny LeMelle had 15 points apiece for Auburn. Nathan Watson added 11. UNLV (6-3) won despite 5-of-21 shooting from 3-point range. Auburn (7-1), who lost for the first time in its first road game of the season, was 6-of-15 from 3-point range. J.K. WHAT A DIFFERENCE A GAME MAKES Heading into the USC game on Dec. 3, UNLV was shooting 26.4 percent from 3-point range on the season. After its 13-of-26 performance from beyond the arc vs. the Trojans, UNLV was shooting 32.7 percent from the same distance on the year. On the flip side, UNLV s opponents were shooting 35.0 percent from 3-point range heading into the USC game, but the Trojans 1-of-23 performance dropped that number to 26.5 percent afterward. Currently, UNLV is shooting 32.8 percent from 3- point range, while limiting its opponents to 26.2 percent. OUT-REBOUNDED, BUT... UNLV has been out-rebounded in six of its nine games this season, however, the Runnin Rebels are 6-3. UNLV has out-rebounded Western Illinois (45-32), Loyola Marymount (34-33) and Auburn (41-27) this season and is 3-0 in those games. PERCENTAGES UNLV is holding its opponents to 43.3 percent shooting from the field, while the Runnin Rebels are hitting 48.6 percent of their shots. UNLV held Cal to 33.8 percent shooting from the field, which is the season-low for the Runnin Rebels. UNLV has shot 50 percent or better from the field six times this year including a season-high 56.1 percent at USC. FIRST-HALF SUCCESS A part of UNLV s early-season success can be attributed to its first-half shooting. In five games this season, UNLV has shot lights-out from the field in the first half. In its season opener against Delaware State, UNLV shot 65.2 percent from the field, which is the season high. Against Cal, UNLV shot 51.7 percent in the first half, shot 59.3 percent at USC, 52.2 percent at Stanford and 57.1 percent vs. Northern Arizona. UNLV has shot 50 percent or better in the second half at Loyola Marymount (50.0), at Stanford (51.9) and vs. Auburn (57.7). A TEAM EFFORT UNLV has had at least four players score in double figures in the same game five times this season. Five players scored in double figures at USC and vs. Auburn. Last season, UNLV had only seven games in which four players scored 10 or more points in the same game and had five players in double figures only once. 2

Amundson s first of his career came vs. Western Illinois. Last season, UNLV had players record double-doubles eight times. UNLV already has seven this year. DOUBLE-DOUBLE FOLLOW-UP With Blankson and Amundson recording double-doubles in the same game against WIU, it marked the first time since the Bradley game last season on Dec. 14 that two UNLV players had double-doubles in the same game. Last season s Bradley game (J.K. Edwards - 21 points, 10 rebounds; Jermaine Lewis - 12 points, 10 rebounds) marked the first time UNLV had accomplished the feat since Nov. 25, 2000, against Cal State Northridge (Kaspars Kambala - 10 points, 12 rebounds; Dalron Johnson - 18 points, 10 rebounds). OUT OF THE GATES After nine games, Odartey Blankson has emerged as the Runnin Rebels leading scorer and rebounder. He is averaging a double-double of 18.3 ppg and 10.2 rpg. He has scored at least 10 points in all nine games for UNLV and has had double figures in rebouding six times. UNLV has four other players averaging at least 9.0 ppg. HUNTER HEATED UP Coming off Achilles surgery in the offseason and a calf strain during the preseason, Demetrius Hunter scored only four and one points in his first two games, respectively, however in his next three games, he scored 15, 15 and 21 points. He had nine points at Loyola Marymount and six at Stanford before getting back to double digits with 11 vs. Northern Arizona. He had 12 vs. Auburn. For the season, he is averaging 10.4 ppg and leads the team in made three pointers with 21 (he is tied for 2nd in the MWC with 2.33 per game). HOTEL CALIFORNIA Dec. 13 at Stanford, UNLV concluded its three-game California road swing. UNLV started the trip with wins at USC and at Loyola Marymount before losing at Stanford. Including home games, UNLV will not play outside the Pacific time zone until Jan. 24 when it travels to Wyoming. FIRST AWAY GAME The USC game on Dec. 3 marked the season s first game away from the Thomas & Mack Center. With the win, UNLV is now 24-22 all-time in its first game of the season away from home. Nine of the 46 times the Runnin Rebels have played away from home for the season s first time were at a neutral site. DEBUTS Against Delaware State in the season opener, six players made their debuts in a Runnin Rebel uniform. Dating back to the 1973-74 season, UNLV has posted 20 or more wins in 24 out of the last 30 years, including 30 or more wins four times. With 21 wins as well in 2001-02, UNLV has now had back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since 1996-97 and 1997-98 when the Runnin Rebels were 22-10 and 20-13, respectively. 66-16 IN LAST 82 GAMES AT TMC The Runnin Rebels are playing their 21st season in the 18,500-seat Thomas & Mack Center in 2003-04 and are 4-2 at home thus far. UNLV has posted an all-time record of 278-53 (.840) in the arena since it opened in 1983. Last season, the Runnin Rebels were 15-6 at home. UNLV was 17-3 at home in 2001-02, 12-3 in 2000-01 and 18-2 in 1999-00, so UNLV has won 66 of its last 82 games at home (.805). SPOONHOUR 36-11 AT TMC Charlie Spoonhour, who is in his third year as head coach of the Runnin Rebels, is 36-11 (.766) in games played at the Thomas & Mack Center. UNLV BOASTS BEST HOME MARK IN MWC Out of the eight Mountain West schools, UNLV has the best all-time winning percentage on its home court. UNLV is 278-53 (.840) at the Thomas & Mack Center, while Utah is second at.830 (433-89). UNLV: ONLY WINNER VS. MWC The Runnin Rebels are the only team in the MWC to have an all-time winning record against each of the other seven members of the conference: Air Force (15-2), BYU (8-7), Colorado State (17-6), New Mexico (15-9), San Diego State (26-6), Utah (13-12), Wyoming (13-12). 13OOTH GAME UNLV s game at Wisconsin on Dec. 7 of last season marked the 1,300th game in program history. UNLV, which is in its 46th year of basketball, has now played 1,336 games and has an all-time record of 960-376 (.719). 3-POINT GOAL... UNLV holds the NCAA record for most consecutive games with a made 3-pointer. Since the 3-point field goal was adopted by the NCAA in 1986-87, UNLV has converted at least one 3-pointer in all 548 games played. Entering the 2003-04 season, Vanderbilt (533) was the only other team to have made at least one 3-pointer in every game played since the rule was put into place. Kentucky was third with 509 consecutive games with a made 3-pointer, followed by Georgia Tech (504), Arkansas (488), Duke (480), Western Kentucky (479), Princeton (469), Dayton (432), Charlotte (428) and New Mexico (396). UNLV entered the season with 539 consecutive games with a made 3-pointer. In the 548 games, the Runnin Rebels have made 3,551-of-9,856 (.360) shots from behind the arc. The Big West Conference experimented with the 3-point shot in the 1982-83, 1984-85 and 1985-86 seasons. During that period, UNLV connected from 3-point range in 53 of the 64 games (the 3-pointer was used in some non-conference games). The Runnin Rebels sank 194-of-505 (.384) 3-point attempts during that time. With the experimental years included, the UNLV streak for games in which it has made at least one 3-point shot stands at 565. The last time the Runnin Rebels failed to make at least one 3-pointer came against Long Beach State on Jan. 25, 1986. So, UNLV has made at least one shot from behind the arc in 601 of the 612 games in which the rule was used. In the 612 total games, the Runnin Rebels have shot.362 from this distance while sinking 3,746-of-10,361. 5

IN OVERTIME UNLV is 41-19 (.683) all-time in overtime games (1-0 this season) and was 1-1 in overtime last season. In 2001-02, UNLV was 4-1 in overtime. UNLV s five overtime games during 2001-02 marked the first time it had ever played in more than four overtime games in one season. The only time UNLV played in four overtimes was during the 1994-95 season. UNLV is 33-16 (.674) in single overtime games, 6-3 (.667) in double overtime and 2-0 (1.000) in triple overtime. The Runnin Rebels have a record of 8-3 in overtime games at the Thomas & Mack Center. UNLV has won five of its last six games that have been sent to overtime. OVER.5OO 41 times in its 45 complete seasons of basketball, UNLV has finished the season with a winning percentage of over.500. The last time UNLV didn t finish with a winning record was the 1995-96 season when the Runnin Rebels were 10-16. UNLV IS THIRD-WINNINGEST PROGRAM IN DIVISION I With an all-time record of 928-363 (.719) against four-year American institutions entering the 2003-04 season, UNLV ranked as the third-winningest program by percentage in NCAA Division I history (min. 25 years in Div. I). Kentucky s record of 1,849-572-1 (.764) placed the Wildcats as the all-time leader. School Years Record Pct.
