OLD HOME WEEK ENGLISH HORSE SHOW AUGUST 18 TH, 19 TH & 20 TH, 2016 COMPETITION PRIZE LIST The Jump Canada Board is the committee of Equine Canada responsible for the promotion and enhancement of the hunter/jumper discipline from the grass roots to international level. Board members are elected by the riders, owners and competition organizers. As a Gold Equine Canada hunter/jumper competition, (each competition will remit $20.00 per horse entered in a hunter or jumper division to the Jump Canada Board. This amount, which will be collected from each competitor at the time of entry, will be used to support a number or regional and national programs designed to foster the activities of hunter/jumper riders, owners and the industry at large. 60% Hunter, Young Rider & Domestic programs * 37.5% National & International Teams 2.5% Administration including Publicity & Public Relations (* 40% of the domestic portion is returned to the provinces in which it is generated) Contact your provincial hunter/jumper representative for a detailed list of the programs available and to have input into the usage of these funds. The standard by which conduct or treatment will be measured is that which a person, informed and experienced in generally accepted equine training and exhibition procedures, would determine to be neither cruel, abusive nor inhumane. By entering the "Old Home Week" Horse Show, you have agreed to honor the rules and regulations as specified in the prize list. The OLD HOME WEEK ENGLISH HORSE SHOW is a sanctioned Gold C Level competition member of Equine Canada and is governed by the rules of Equine Canada. SHOW RULES Every EC class offered herein is covered by the Rules and Specifications of the current rules of the EC Rule Book and will be held and judged in accordance with said rule book. ENTRIES Entries must be postmarked/submitted no later than July 29th, 2016. An entry is valid only when the Old Home Week English Horse Show Committee receives a completed Entry Form including payment in full by either cheque or money order. Old Home Week English Horse Show has the right to refuse entry. For issues not covered by the EC Rule Book the Old Home Week English Horse Show committee s decision will be final. Applicable EC Rule Book references are sometimes noted but are not a substitute for knowledge of the Rule Book itself. * Per Article A801, every entry at an EC sanctioned competition shall constitute an agreement by the person responsible that the owner, lessee, trainer, manager, agent, coach, driver or rider and horse shall be subject to the EC constitution and all rules of EC and any additional rules set by the competition. It is the responsibility of all individuals participating in any capacity in EC sanctioned competitions to be knowledgeable regarding the EC constitution and applicable rules of the EC and the additional rules, if any, imposed by the competition. Do not participate in this EC sanctioned competition in any capacity if you do not consent to be bound by the constitution and rules of EC and any additional rules imposed by the competition. 1. Memberships: a. All Canadian owners and riders must have a valid EC Gold Sport License (A205); OR purchase a Single Event Upgrade (A211) or License Transfer (A212) for a Silver or Bronze Sport License to Gold License; OR purchase a Temporary Sport License (A208 not eligible for points).

b. Competitors also require provincial territorial sport organization (PTSO) membership. c. All athletes and owners must be holders of a current membership in their home country s national federation, and foreign entries must sign an affidavit. d. All athletes competing in Amateur classes must posses a valid EC Amateur Card and must present it to the Competition Secretary upon request (A902). e. Exception: Lead line riders who require only a PTSO membership. 2. Passports: a. All Canadian entries are required to have an EC Horse Passport with a valid EC horse license to compete (A402), or if owned by a temporary sport license holder a Temporary Horse Registration form must be purchased at each competition entered. Foreign entries must sign an affidavit. (A404) b. Exception: Lead line riders, and horses competing in only the hack division. 3. Drug Testing and Fees: a. Any horse entered in any class at a competition may be selected for equine medication control testing while at the event location (A602.6). b. All EC-sanctioned competitions are required to collect a prescribed drug-testing fee ($7) for each horse entered. This fee is to be identified on the entry form as a stand-alone item and not bundled or combined with other fees. (A1008) c. (A1011) The Person Responsible (PR) for a horse must be an adult who has, or shares responsibility for the care, training, custody, and performance of the horse and who has official responsibility for that horse under EC or USEF Rules. The PR is liable under the penalty provisions of the applicable EC or USEF Rules for any rule violations. The Person Responsible is ultimately responsible for the condition, fitness and management of the horse and is alone responsible for any act performed by himself/herself or by any other person with authorized access to the horse in the stables, elsewhere on the grounds, or while the horse is being ridden, driven or exercised. A: For adult entries into EC sanctioned competitions the PR shall be either the trainer, the owner of the horse of the competitor who rides or drives the horse during the EC sanctioned competition. B: For Junior entries into EC sanctioned competitions the Junior competitor cannot be the PR. For Junior entries the PR may be either the trainer, the owner of the horse, or a parent/guardian of the Junior competitor 4. Entries: a. Entries must be received by the closing date, 4pm July 29,2016. Entries are limited. Any entry not received by closing date will be dependent upon availability, will be considered Late Entry and will be subject to an additional $30 Late Entry administration fee. b. One horse per entry form. c. All entries must be completed on an official entry form (i.e. no phone or Facebook entries). All entries must be fully complete with proper signatures, complete address, membership and passport numbers. d. The Show Committee has the right to refuse or limit entries as circumstances warrant. ALL CLASSES WILL BE LIMITED TO 30 ENTRIES, FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. d. No hors concours at this competition: Article A 808. e. Substitution of entries: Will be at the discretion of the Organizing Committee. 5. Payment: a.all stabling fees, entry fees, Jump Canada Levy and administration fees must be paid in

full prior to the competition. b. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or money order and must accompany entry form. c. Cheques are to be made payable to PEI Provincial Exhibition Inc. No post-dated cheques will be accepted. d. A blank cheque is required for open accounts. f. A $50 charge will be assessed on all returned cheques. g. Unsettled accounts will be referred to EC, which will result in suspension from all EC competitions. h. Accounts left unpaid will not be permitted to compete at future OHW horse shows until paid in full. 6. Schedule: a. The Show Committee reserves the right to combine or cancel any class or division with insufficient entries. b. Any class/division with fewer than 6 entries may be combined, and classes with fewer than 4 entries may be cancelled or run with no prize money offered. c. Orders of Go will be posted at least 30 minutes before each class (G706). 7. Protective Headgear: d. See A905 and G102. At all times, persons mounted at an EC-sanctioned event location must wear approved protective headgear. e. Protective headgear must be certified under one of the following standards: ASTM (American Society for Testing Materials), or SEI (Safety Equipment Institute, Inc.); BSI/BS EN (British Standards Institution); EN (European Union Standards; or AS/NZS (Australian/New Zealand Standards. f. Protective headgear must be properly fitted and securely fastened by a safety harness permanently affixed to the helmet. 8. Competition Numbers: a. Numbers must be worn and visible at all time in the schooling and warm-up areas and in the competition ring (A814). Any rider wearing the incorrect number may be eliminated. b. FEI Schooling rules will apply. 9. Dress Code: a. See G109. Shadbellies are optional for the Hunter Classic, Medals and Derby Classes. 10. Adds: a. Adds are at the discretion of the Show Office staff. b. A post entry fee of $10 will apply on day of add. c. Post entries will go first in class. 11. Scratches: a. If scratches are received in writing prior to noon on August 5, 2016 all entry and other fees will be refunded less the $30 Administration fee.

b. After this time there will be no refunds unless the owner or rider presents an original veterinarian certificate or medical doctor s certificate received prior to commencement of show. c. All scratches will be subject to the $30 Administration fee. d. The owner of any horse that does not compete in a class in which it was entered and is not scratched according to the above procedures if fully liable for all fees. (See A816) 12. Office Hours: a. The show office will open 60 minutes before the start of the competition day and will close 30 minutes after the last class of the day. 13. Stabling: a. Stabling is limited and must be reserved on Stall Request Form. b. Price is $50 per show for a box stall. Entries received after July 29 will be $80.00 per show. c. Bedding is not included in the price of stalls and can be purchased for $7 per bale. Bedding order and cost must be received with entry. Additional bedding will be available to purchase at the show, and can be picked up daily at a TBA location and time. Note: In the past, there has been occasional flooding in the barn. In the event that flooding occurs this year, the show committee will allocate 2 replacement bags of shavings per affected stall. d. If a stall is required before or after scheduled time, you must receive permission from the Show Office. e. Special requests to stable near others will be accommodated as much as possible but not guaranteed. f. All stalls must be stripped before leaving the show. g. If desired, your stall can be cleaned for you at the end of the show for an additional $20. h. Tack stalls may be available but will be allocated only after all horses are stabled. 14. Pony Measurement: a. Measurement of ponies will be in the Barn, Thursday (time to be announced). b. Horses may be measured randomly. 15. Schooling: a. In the Hunter Divisions all over fences divisions will offer an Open Schooling Card. b. Schooling rounds are available Wednesday evening, Aug. 17 from 8-10pm; rounds are 2 minutes each. Cost is $15. Please indicate on the entry form. c. No placings or ribbons. d. For Jumper Divisions, no schooling rounds are offered. e. Indoor schooling rounds are available Thursday morning, Aug.18 ( no charge). Please check posted times. For safety, times are divided between horses and short stirrup/ponies. 16. High Point Pony & Peter Goodwin Memorial High Point Hunter Horse Awards: a. High Point Pony points calculated from all flat and o/f classes with the same pony/rider combination.

b. The Peter Goodwin Memorial High Point Hunter points calculated from all o/f classes with the same horse/rider combination. 17. Presentations: a. Hunter competitors must return to the ring for jog and presentation dressed appropriately and with horses in a bridle. Juniors showing any horse in a jog for soundness must wear approved protective headware with the attached safety harness fastened (G102.2). b. Jumper competitors must be mounted when entering the ring for presentations. Salute and respect paid to sponsors in attendance would be appreciated. c. Presentations for all Hunter Divisions and Special awards will take place Saturday afternoon, with Jumper awards Saturday evening. Victory gallops for Hunter Derby, Mini Prix and Grand Prix champions. 18. General Information: a. Trucks and trailers must be parked in designated parking areas. Due to extremely limited space in the loading/unloading area, OHW will provide assistance for loading/unloading tack. b. Camper hook-ups available at a rate of $20.00 per night at the Park Street Lot.
