Dear Soccer Players, Families and Friends, SALLY Games 2017 Welcome to the 17th Annual Soccer Against Leukemia & Lymphoma! Every year we are thrilled to host returning and new teams many of you have been with us from the very beginning. That beginning was the wonderful idea of Pam Jones, who was participating in the Team in Training program to run a marathon. She asked a core group if we would help organize a one-day women s soccer tournament to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and here we are 17 years later! SALLY Games has an established place in our soccer community and with many soccer players and families. We did not ever dream that it would have such an incredible impact on our local community, let alone the communities a distance away our heartfelt appreciation extends to all of you the team managers, players, families and so many others. One hundred percent of the proceeds from registration fees, t-shirt sales, raffle ticket donations and snack bar purchases are donated to LLS supporting medical advances in treatment research, which translates into improved patient services. It feels good knowing we are making a difference in the lives of others every dollar matters. With this year s event, we will likely surpass $125,000 funds raised! Part of our mission is friendship first, competition second. This means no excessive goal scoring and no confronting the referees. We anticipate you keeping this perspective all day as you step on and off the pitch. Remember the referees are donating their time because they believe in our cause before you leave the pitch be sure you extend your appreciation and say, thank you. Please join us at the noon hour in the registration area for the mission moment from our honoree. The mission moment is the story of a patient s journey and how LLS makes a difference. We will draw raffle tickets and post the winners on a poster board after 1:00pm, come check the poster board to see if you have a winning ticket. On behalf of the SALLY Games Committee, we are grateful for your continued commitment to this tournament. We are proud to collaborate with you in supporting LLS. Have a wonderful day!
