Allen County Interstate 75 from the Auglaize County line to Fourth Street, through Lima and Allen County, will have occasional lane closures throughout the year during the final year of the reconstruction of the interstate. Current and upcoming impacts to traffic are as follows: Traffic on I-75 north and south of the Ohio 65 interchange area continues to travel in a contraflow pattern where two southbound lanes and one northbound lane of traffic are traveling on the southbound side of the interstate, and one northbound lane is traveling on the northbound side of the interstate. Traffic will remain in this pattern until late summer. Beginning May 17 and continuing throughout that week, the single northbound lane on Interstate 75 through the contraflow area will be closed during the hours of 3 a.m. to 1 p.m. while embankment work occurs. o During the lane closure, the entrance ramp from Ohio 65 to northbound Interstate 75 will remain open but will be controlled with flaggers. Beginning May 23 and continuing for approximately two weeks, the single northbound lane on Interstate 75 through the contraflow area will close during the hours of 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. while embankment work occurs. o During the lane closure, the entrance ramp from Ohio 65 to northbound Interstate 75 will be closed, also between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Demolition of the remaining pavement and bridge structures on I-75 over Ohio 65 and the railroad bridge has been completed. Hanthorn Road over Interstate 75 remains closed until June. Interstate 75 southbound between Napoleon Road to Bluelick Road will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage. Ohio 117 from Bowman Road to the Auglaize County line will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage. Ohio 309 will be impacted by several projects throughout the construction season as follows: Ohio 309 (Elida Road) from Robb Avenue to Cole Street, Lima, is restricted in the eastbound direction for reconstruction of the curb and gutter, upgrade of traffic signals and resurfacing of the roadway. The continuous turn from eastbound Ohio 309 to Grand Avenue was permanently closed on March 14. Three lanes of traffic will remain open at all times throughout the duration of the project. Only one lane at a time will be taken out of service. Work is being performed by Smith Paving, Norwalk. o By the end of the coming week, all lanes are expected to be open until after the Memorial Day holiday. Paving will take place following the holiday as well as the upgrade of traffic signals at Cole Street and Rosedale Avenue. o The overall project will be completed in the fall. Ohio 309 (Elida Road) from Eastown Road to U.S. 30, including the village of Elida, will be restricted beginning in May for widening, curb and gutter installation, drainage improvements and resurfacing. Work is being performed by VTF Excavation LLC, Celina. The following impacts are occurring or upcoming: o o Ohio 309 south of Ridge Road closed May 4 for 14 days for a culvert replacement. Traffic is detoured onto Lincoln Highway/Fifth Street back to Elida Road (Ohio 309). Work will later occur between East Road and Eastown Road on the south side of the roadway. Traffic during this phase, which will continue through June, will be maintained with one lane eastbound and two lanes westbound. Ohio 309 (Harding Highway) from Bowman Road to Ohio 235, Ada, will be closed beginning in June for 70 days for culvert replacements at several locations. Work will initially begin within the overlap of Ohio 235/Ohio 309. Access to area residences will be maintained, through traffic will be detoured onto Ohio 235, Ohio 81 and Interstate 75 back to Ohio 309. Work is being performed by R.D. Jones Excavating, Harrod. Defiance County Pavement repairs will be done at the following locations with traffic maintained through the work zone. Work is being performed by the ODOT Defiance County maintenance garage: Ohio 66 just north of Defiance to north of Flory Road Ohio 18 just east of Sherwood to Brunersburg Ohio 111 from the Paulding County line to the south corporation limit of Defiance
Hancock County Ohio 15 between U.S. 68 and Ohio 330, both eastbound and westbound, will be reduced to one lane through the work zone throughout the week for bridge deck repair at several locations. Work is being performed by the ODOT roadway services department. Ohio 12 between Findlay and Arcadia, specifically between Township Road 238 and County Road 248, will be closed beginning May 16 for five days for culvert replacements at three locations. Traffic will be detoured onto U.S. 224 to U.S. 23 back to Ohio 12. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hancock County maintenance garage. Interstate 75 between Perrysburg and County Road 99 north of Findlay will have the following restrictions through the fall during reconstruction and widening: Through November, overnight lane restrictions, generally from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m., are possible on I- 75 between the I-75/I-475 interchange in Perrysburg and County Road 99 in Hancock County. Through December, 11-foot lane width restrictions are in place on I-75 between U.S. 20 in Perrysburg and County Road 99 in Hancock County. o A switch in traffic, originally scheduled for May 11 and 12, has been delayed due to weather. The switch could potentially occur during the upcoming week, weather permitting. During the switch, traffic would be restricted during overnight hours to one lane both northbound and southbound from Ohio 18 to County Road 99. Through December, Township Road 101 in Hancock County, between County Road 220 and Township Road 142, is closed for bridge work over I-75. Hardin County Berm work will take place along the following routes with traffic maintained through the work zone. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hardin County maintenance garage: U.S. 68 from the city of Kenton to the Hancock County line Ohio 117 from the Allen County line to the Logan County line Ohio 235 from the Logan County line to Ohio 117 Ohio 309 will be impacted throughout the construction season as follows: Ohio 309 from County Road 171 just east of Kenton to the Marion County line will be restricted through the work zone for resurfacing beginning May 17. Work is being performed by Shelly Co., Findlay. Ohio 309 (Harding Highway) from Bowman Road to Ohio 235, Ada, will be closed beginning in June for 70 days for culvert replacements at several locations. Work will initially begin within the overlap of Ohio 235/Ohio 309. Access to area residences will be maintained, through traffic will be detoured onto Ohio 235, Ohio 81 and Interstate 75 back to Ohio 309. Work is being performed by R.D. Jones Excavating, Harrod.
Paulding County Drainage work will occur at the following locations with traffic maintained through the work zone. Work is being performed by the ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage. Ohio 111 east of U.S. 127 Ohio 637 east of Ohio 111 Ohio 49 north of the village of Payne, between Road 94 and Road 96, closed March 21 for 60 days for a bridge replacement project. Traffic detoured onto Ohio 500 and Ohio 111 back to Ohio 49. Work is being performed by Vernon Nagel, Napoleon. Putnam County There are no projects scheduled during the week which will have a significant impact on traffic. Van Wert County Ohio 697 at the west edge of Delphos was closed May 12 for approximately four days for a railroad repair project. Traffic is detoured onto Ohio 116, Ohio 81 and Ohio 66 back to Ohio 697. Work is being performed by the Chicago, Ft. Wayne & Eastern RR. U.S. 127 (Washington Street) between Fox Road and Ervin Road in the city of Van Wert closed April 11 for reconstruction and widening of the road. Access to local businesses is maintained. Traffic is detoured onto Ohio 81, Ohio 118, Ervin Road/Van Wert-Decatur Road, U.S. 224 and U.S. 30 back to U.S. 127. The closure will remain in place until fall. Work is being performed by Helms & Sons Excavating, Findlay. The entire U.S. 127 (Washington St.)/Ervin Road intersection will be closed from Monday, May 23 through Friday, May 27 for water main and sanitary sewer work. During the intersection closure, access to local businesses will be available via Fox Road. Wyandot County U.S. 30 westbound ramp to U.S. 23 southbound, Upper Sandusky, may be restricted at times beginning early May for a slope repair project. Work is being performed by Trucco Construction, Delaware. Ohio 103 bridge over U.S. 23/Ohio 15, south of Carey, is restricted to one lane through the work zone for a bridge rehabilitation project. The bridge will close later in the summer for approximately 30 days. Work is being performed by DOT Construction Corp., Canfield. Ohio 293 bridge just south of Wharton is restricted to one lane through the work zone for a bridge rehabilitation project. The bridge will close later in the summer for approximately 30 days. Work is being performed by DOT Construction Corp., Canfield. Ohio 53 from U.S. 23 to the Seneca County line, Ohio 67 from Ohio 53 to Township Highway 121, and Ohio 587 from Ohio 53 to the Seneca County line is reduced to one lane through the work zone for a pavement repair and resurfacing project. Traffic is maintained throughout the project. Work is being performed by Kokosing Construction, Columbus. ###
