The game was scheduled to be played before State of Origin 1 at ANZ Stadium but due to bad weather the game was postponed to Game 3 on Wednesday 7th July at ANZ Stadium. We are a few short weeks away from sending out tickets and already over 150,000 tickets have been allocated to grass roots Clubs. Tickets ran out last year, so register now and don t miss out on your opportunity to raise much needed funds for your Club, Need convincing? Page 5 Under 18s Fiji Bati Secondary School Tour The NSWRL Academy and RLIF would like to acknowledge and thank the following for their assistance in making the recent tour of the U18 Fijian Schoolboys a memorable and enjoyable one. The Australian Fijian Rugby League (AFRL), The National Centre of Indigenous Excellence, Newcastle Knights, St Marys Rugby League Club, Matraville Sports High School, Parramatta Eels, Sydney Roosters, NSW Council for Pacific Communities, South West Sydney Regional Advisory Council, Australian National Museum, NSW Police Macquarie Fields, SWYPE (Mission Australia), Fiji Youth Initiatives Inc. (FYI), Parramatta Eels Stadium Trust, The Corrective Services New South Wales, volunteers. The team stayed at the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence at Redfern while they were here and a special thank you goes out to them. The team had an amazing time and some activities while on tour included participating in the following sporting and cultural events. Parramatta Stadium visit where they had a meet and greet with Nathan Cayless and Nathan Hindmarsh Sydney Roosters Vs North Queensland Cowboys game (Sydney Football Stadium) Australian National Museum visit with a private viewing of the Indigenous Gallery and to the Pacific Artefact Collection. Sarah Redfern High School visit, Campbelltown. They were welcomed and greeted by the School Principal, staff and students, the Deputy Mayor of Campbelltown Ms Mollie Thomas, the Local Area Commander of Macquarie Fields Police Station, SWRAC, SWYPE and the wider Pacific Community Elders. In token of their appreciation the schoolboys regularly sang songs and performed items such as the famous Fijian departure song Isa Isa.
2010 WINTER MOD CAMP 5 th 7 th July 2010 Specialist coaching catering for all skill levels of players 10 to 12 years. All players receive: - Top class coaching and instruction from NSWRL Development Staff and guest Coaches. Dormitory room accommodation with dining, recreation, video, seminar rooms and use of all the Academy s facilities; pool, ropes, canoeing and tennis All meals 2 nights Accommodation, a Steeden football, 2 training shirts, 1 pair of shorts, a Cap, Water bottle, Camp photo and Certificate of Attendance The camp fee of $310.00 (including GST) covers everything. There are no additional costs and the three-day camp provides the players with an invaluable Rugby League experience. At all times during the camp, players will follow a carefully balanced program designed to promote skill development, nutrition, sportsmanship, fun and enjoyment. All players are fully supervised throughout the duration of the camp by trained NSWRL Staff and Academy of Sport Staff. Guest appearances by various NRL players and recreational activities such as canoeing, archery, bike riding, swimming, tennis etc are also included. This camp is an ideal chance for players in the 10 to 12 years age group to receive extra coaching in the skills of the game. Players will be coached by highly skilled and ARL accredited coaches. They will also have the chance to meet players from all over the state Discount Rates for Participants: Clubs or Schools with 5 9 participants are $300.00 per player. Clubs or Schools with 10 or more participants are $295.00 per player. Location: Sydney Academy of Sport, Wakehurst Parkway, Narrabeen. Cancellations: If cancellation prior to 25 th June 2010, a full refund will be given. After the 25 th June 2010, a cancellation fee of $40 will be charged.
