BOXWOOD RECREATION CENTER After a disappointing loss Boxwood Community Center had a few players from Team Tsunami to come by and enjoy some fresh watermelon. Boxwood staff took the time to encourage Team Tsunami to always stay motivated win or lose. The kids also learned that eating watermelon is a great way to hydrate your body and prepare for a sunny day. 3
FLUELLEN RECREATION CENTER The Fluellen Community Center would like to introduce you to C.A.D, Columbus Against Drugs. Minister Linda Robinson who is the president of the organization says C.A.D., was established in 1994 and now has between 10-15 members. C.A.D. was started to help clean the community of drugs, drug houses, crime, and basically trying to save our youth. The task is tough that's why they have partnered with the Columbus Police Department, Muscogee County Sheriffs office, and the Marshalls office. Fluellen would like to say thank you, good luck, and be careful. The group meets every 3rd Thursday at 6:00 pm. 4

NORTHSIDE RECREATION CENTER For Craft of the Month we planned a spin off of Brushes and Beverages and called it Paint and Punch. The kids enjoyed a relaxing day of painting by numbers, and drinking Hawaiian Punch. There were some very interesting paint mixtures. After all the paintings were finished, we let the kids vote on the best picture. Denzel won with a painting of Tulips. 7

FOX SENIOR CENTER This week we would like to highlight our community garden. Last Friday a few of our seniors helped plant some vegetables. We planted cucumbers, squash, and tomatoes, green beans, and sweet peppers. We still have more to plant, as they continue to grow. We are still waiting on a few more tomato plants to get bigger. We will soon have all of the garden beds outside full of great vegetables. While the weather was nice outside, we took advantage of the sun and repotted a few of our center plants. The plants were getting too big for their pots, so we gave them a bigger home to live in, so they can grow. 9
FRANK CHESTER SENIOR CENTER FRANK CHESTER SENIOR CENTER FRANK CHESTER SENIOR CENTER Our Red Hat Group, the Southern Peach Blossoms celebrated National Red Hat Society Day this week. We met for lunch at Red Lobster. We brought red & purple balloons and placed them on the tables to give them a more festive look. Once everyone arrived and ordered, we passed out a gift to the first person to sign-up. We discussed some future outings as we enjoyed some of their famous cheddar biscuits. Lunch arrived and everyone enjoyed a variety of seafood dishes. Dessert was a nicely decorated cake that suited the occasion. Red & purple tote bags with a Red Hat embroidered on them were passed out to all that attended the luncheon. After some group photos a few headed back to the center for Bingo and the rest of us went to Columbus Park Crossing for a quick stop in the craft stores. It was a great day to be out and fellowship with one another. 10
