EVENT SCHEDULE OC1, OC2, V1, SUP, Ski Race - All Divisions Briefing at 7.00am Race start at 7.15 am Distance 12km Long Course 6 km Short Course Ultra Short Course OC6 Race Junior, Novice,Men, Women, Mixed Briefing at 8.45 am Race Start 9.00 am Distance 4km Short Course OC6 Race Men s,women and Mixed All Divisions Briefing at 10 am Race Start 10.15am Distance 8km Long Course OC6 Race- All Divisions Women and Mixed Briefing at 11.30 am Race start at 11.45 am Distance 12km Long Course OC6 Race- All Divisions Men s Briefing at 1.15pm Race start at 1.30pm Distance 12km ALL CANOES MUST HAVE STORM COVERS, 2 BAILERS, 25M TOW ROPE & 2 SPARE PADDLES WITH 6 AOCRA APPROVED PFDS. OC1, OC2 AND SKI ALL PADDLERS MUST WEAR AND APPROVED PFD AND WEAR AN ATTACHED LEG LEASH.
NOVICE CREWS THERE MUST BE 4 NOVICE PADDLERS (ie paddlers who are in their First or 2 nd year of registration ) The rest of the crew may be made up of a maximum of 2 Experienced Paddlers Presentations will take place approximately 30mins after the finish of each race. Only divisions comprised of 3 or more crews will receive prizes. If there are less than 3 crews in your division you will be asked if you wish to remain in your division to race for points or move to a division where there is a minimum of 3 crews to race for prizes. COURSE DETAILS Long Course All Divisions OC1, OC2, Ski - 12km Start at wharf, Station Beach, Pittwater side, Palm Beach head north clockwise around Lion Island, south past Barrenjoey Headland to a turning buoy off Palm Beach, head north again returning around Barrenjoey Headland and then back to finish line.
Short Course All divisions OC1, OC2, Ski 6km Start/Finish Palm Beach wharf proceed south west to Coaster Retreat (Basin) then proceed north to west Head turn buoy and return to wharf. Ultra Short Course OC6-4Km Start at Wharf, Station Beach, Pittwater side head south west towards basin marker turning Buoy and return to Wharf starting line
Short Course All Division OC6-8km Start at wharf, Station Beach, Pittwater side Palm Beach head north clockwise around Lion Island and return to start line. Long Course All Divisions OC6-12km Start at wharf, Station Beach, Pittwater side, Palm Beach head north clockwise around Lion Island, south past Barrenjoey Headland to a turning buoy off Palm Beach, head north again returning around
Barrenjoey Headland then back to finish line. Alternate Courses In the event of adverse conditions alternate courses may need to be implemented which have been registered with Maritime on our Aquatic Licence. The alternate course will be set dependent on the particular conditions at the time of the race. RACE COORDINATORS Race Directors: Race Committee: Grant Hughes Sharon Hughes Grant Hughes, Sharon Hughes, Grahame Jones PARKING PAID PARKING ($1 & $2 coins) and credit card is available in front of the venue. Northern Beach Council Stickers are exempt. Free parking is available in the surrounding streets. NB We have been advised by Council that the rangers will be in
attendance and anyone PARKED ILLEGALLY WILL BE FINED, even in the surrounding streets. Please ensure all trailers are parked legally either in the trailer parking bays or in the surrounding streets. If your trailer does not fit wholly within the designated lines please park it in the surrounding streets. AMENITIES Toilets and cold showers are located in the park adjacent to the registration area. FOOD Lots of fabulous fresh food will include: BBQ, rolls, cakes, muffins, cold drinks, coffee, fruit salad, lollies and so on will be available for sale. SAFETY Members of the Zone Committee will perform random safety inspections. Canoes not meeting AOCRA Safety Guidelines maybe ineligible to race. Non-AOCRA approved canoes will be ineligible to race. In accordance with the Aquatic Licence granted by the NSW Government Transport Roads & Maritime Services we whereby advise that there are particular risks associated in the participation of the sport outrigger canoeing racing at this regatta. All participants who are currently registered with AOCRA are covered under their insurance policy for this regatta and only registered AOCRA members are eligible to enter and participate. RACE FEES OC6 Juniors $15 per head ($90 per canoe) Seniors $20 per head ($120 per canoe) for Novice and Ultra Short Course $25 per head ($15 per canoe) for Short course OC6 races.
$35 per head ($210per canoe) for Long course OC6 races. RACE FEES OC1, OC2, V1, SUP AND SKI $25 per person. Race fees must be paid by direct debit or credit card online at the AOCRA website: www.aocra.com.au PLEASE NOTE: A late fee of $50 per OC6 team, and $20 per person OC1/OC2/V1 will apply for team registrations submitted after 6pm on Friday 3 November 2017.
AGE DIVISIONS Junior Competitors must turn at least 10 years of age in the Racing Year. Junior Competitors must not have reached the age of 20 years during the Racing Year. Adult Age Divisions Women s Age Men s Age 21 and under 20 to 21 inclusive 20 to 21 inclusive Open Adult age Adult age Masters 40 years and above 40 years and above Senior Masters 50 years and above 50 years and above Golden Masters 60 years and above 60 years and above Junior s eligibility to compete in adult events: a. 19U division may compete in adult divisions (21U & Open) without parental or coach consent b. Must be aged 14years and above and have written parental/guardian permission c. Written approval of qualified outrigger specific coach.
CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY FOR THIS EVENT 1. Only a competitor who is a financial member of a club affiliated with AOCRA Inc. and is a current registered competitor with AOCRA Inc. is eligible to nominate and compete in any event. 2. Composite teams may be entered through the club who has the majority of the paddlers allowing you to use paddlers from other clubs to make up a team. 3. AOCRA Inc, the Race Director, or the Race Committee reserves the right to request proof of identity or age (i.e. identification card with photograph) of a competitor at any time. 4. For Mixed Crew events, a minimum of 3 women paddlers must be in the crew to constitute a mixed team. 5. The Race Committee reserves the right to be the arbiter in any dispute regarding eligibility and registration of competitors. The Race Directors decision will be final. Every effort will be made to start races and briefings on time. Races will not be delayed for late starters. 6. In the event of a protest the team lodging the protest will be required to fill in a protest form and provide a $50 surety with the Protest Committee. In the event of the protest being upheld the aggrieved club will receive the $50 surety back. 7. The Regatta Rules version (as amended) on AOCRA website: www.aocra.com.au shall apply to all races in NSW.
