ORGANIZING COMMITTEE The Società Canottieri Garda Salò asd, via Canottieri 1; 25087 Salò (BS). Email: info@canottierigarda.it Web Site www.canottierigarda.it 2. PLACE AND DATE Start: Port of Torri del Benaco (VR), Lake Garda, on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 15.30. Finish line: Ex Equestrian Field (Ex campo Ippico) lakeside lungolago Zanardelli Maderno. 3. RULES a) If the water temperature is below 20, it will be required to wear a wetsuit, even if the temperature is higher than 20 a wetsuit is advised. A few days before the event, both on the organization's website and on Facebook group Traversata a Nuoto del Lago di Garda the temperature of the water will be published. b) Swim caps, goggles, nose clips, ear plugs, wetsuits and wetsuit lubricant are allowed. Use of a signaling buoy is mandatory with the competitor s registration number. c) The use of fins and breathing and respiratory equipment is forbidden. d) The swimsuit should not favor flotation or provide other form of improper advantage. e) For the regularity of the crossing the following actions are prohibited: - Hinder, intentionally interfere and enter into contact with another competitor; - To touch or be touched, to be towed and to lean on fixed or floating objects; - Be accompanied in the water by swimmers not participating in the race; Violation of the above rules will result in immediate disqualification from the race. f) Path and Safety: Canoes or any other means of support for the athlete are not allowed, except for ships indicated at the time of enrollment and those of the organization. 4. ADMISSION Competitors over 18 years old are allowed; The maximum limit of entries is set equal to 100: the date and time on the receipt will give proof of the inscription which may be done with the procedures described below.
The organizing committee reserves the right to invite a number of athletes higher than the limit established. Subscribers will be broken down by gender (male and female). 5. REGISTRATION Entries will open on May 1st; for the first week the registrations will only be reserved to those who will make available a boat with a driver by filling out the required form: engine power (minimum 25 hp), VHF on board, number of seats on the boat, driver data. If the data were incomplete and / or non-compliant, the entry will be canceled. From May 8 th the registrations will be oper to all. On the event s website: www.canottierigarda.it (on Eventi page) you may find the link "Traversata di nuoto Torri-Maderno-Mysdam" (Crossing enrollment) with which you may access the enrollment process. To enter the competition the competitors must attach the following valid documents: identity document valid medical certificate of fitness The commitment statement, if you have a boat available The deadline for receiving entries is fixed on Saturday June 17 th at 12,00, upon reaching the maximum number. The organizing committee reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to limit the number of participants and to exclude from participation one or more subscribers, especially if such decisions are for security reasons. 6. ENROLLMENT FEE The enrollment fee to attend the event (that includes a souvenir pack, a numbered buoy, and medical care), is: for individual athlete 70.00 To the individual athlete who helps the organization by providing a support boat with requirements as at point n. 5 of this regulation and who signed the statement of commitment, at the end of event will be granted a refund, equal 50% of the quota. In case the event is cancelled due to adverse weather conditions or other reasons, the amount paid for the registration fee is not refundable. However for the next edition you may have a priority registration. Instead the souvenir pack will still be given out. In case of drop outs, the fee will not be refunded. 7. PROGRAM Saturday, July 1 12:00 to 14:00 hours in the start area (the port of Torri), delivery of personal-numbered-buoy useful for signaling (its use is mandatory), and delivery of boats numbers. The athlete, may leave his/her bag there with the appropriate number provided by the organization, this will be returned on arrival. 14.30 Briefing for competitors at the starting area 14.30 Briefing for support boats at the starting area. 15.30 Departure ACROSS THE LAKE. Upon arrival the competitors will receive their souvenir pack and a meal voucher. From 18.30 the dining area will open. The holders of the meal vouchers may access freely. 19.00 Awards Ceremony.
8. PATH The path follows a straight line connecting the port of Torri and arriving to the Ex Equestrian Field (Ex Campo Ippico) at Toscolano Maderno for a total distance of 7 km (approximate distance). Competitors should always swim letting the big racing buoys on their right. 9. COMPETITION DETAILS The crossing will begin at 15.30. Each participant must reach the place of departure with their own means. Navigarda will offer a special price for the ferry Maderno - Torri. The organization offers the possibility to transport the bags of the competitors from Torri del Benaco to Toscolano Maderno. At the ex equestrian field (ex Campo Ippico) the competitors will be given back their bags together with the souvenir pack. The organization is not responsible for the possible loss of personal effects inside the case. The organizers reserve the right to terminate or suspend at any time the competition for bad weather conditions or any other reason relating to the safety and security of the participants. This decision will be taken together with the local security forces present at the race. In case of cancellation, the event will not be postponed and any fees paid will not be refunded. 10. SUPPLIES The supplies will be at the discretion of the participant. It is allowed to carry these supplies (with ribbons or other systems) as long as they do not cover the number on the marker buoy. If the visibility of the number on the marker buoy is obstructed the competitor may be stopped and be disqualified.
11. TIME LIMIT The time limit for the crossing, for security reasons, is strictly fixed to last no more than 3.5 hours from the effective departure time (16:00 to 19:30). There will be different Check Points marked by the presence of a jury boat that shall be overcome within the following stated time of departure: at 2 km, time limit 55 ' at 4 km, time limit 1h50 at 6 km, time limit 3h At the check point, the number on the buoy must be shown. If these time limits are overcome, the competitors who still have not passed the Check Point, will be recovered by the support boat or the Coast Guard (Law Enforcement). No exceptions will be admitted to this provision. 12. RANKING Rankings for men and women will be displayed to the public first and later they will be posted both on the Website and on Facebook. 13. STARTING GATE The starting point will be at the port of Torri, during this phase all the boats and competitors will have to keep a minimum distance of 400/600 meter. from the coast (this limit will be marked by a special boat assigned by the organization). Only authorized boats from the organization will be able to stay within this area, without interfering the starting operations. 14. SUPPORT BOATS The official support boats of the Organizing committee will be recognizable since they will be arranged in a straight line to form a cordon and they will be identified with a number that will grow in progression until the last boat at the end of the line. In addition to these boats there will also be other boats from the jury outside of this limit and at the check points. There will be many buoys placed along the route to ensure participants a clear view of the path so they don t lose the track in north direction. 15. AWARDS Winners of each category will be awarded: men and women. 16. RESPONSIBILITIES Competitors participate in the competition at their own risk. The Società Canottieri Garda Salò asd will not hold any responsibility for injuries and damages that might occur to people or things, both on land and in water, due to the participation in the competition referred to in this Regulation. Completed payment of the registration fee stands for unconditional acceptance of these Regulations. This regulation is valid unless otherwise determined by the competent authorities.
