(11) (Allâh) said: "What prevented you (O Iblîs) that you did not prostrate yourself, when I commanded you?" Iblîs said: "I am better than him (Adam), You created me from fire, and him You created from clay." (12) (Allâh) said: "(O Iblîs) get down from this (Paradise), it is not for you to be arrogant here. Get out, for you are of those humiliated and disgraced." (13) (Iblîs) said: "Allow me respite till the Day they are raised up (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)." (14) (Allâh) said: "You are of those respited." (15) (Iblîs) said: "Because You have sent me astray, surely I will sit in wait against them (human beings) on Your Straight Path (16) Then I will come to them from before them and behind them, from their right and from their left, and You will not find most of them as thankful ones (i.e. they will not be dutiful to You)." (17) (Allâh) said (to Iblîs) "Get out from this (Paradise) disgraced and expelled. Whoever of them (mankind) will follow you, then surely I will fill Hell with you all." (18) "And O Adam! Dwell you and your wife in Paradise, and eat thereof as you both wish, but approach not this tree otherwise you both will be of the Zâlimûn (unjust and wrong-doers)." (19) Then Shaitân (Satan) whispered suggestions to them both in order to uncover that which was hidden from them of their private parts (before); he said: "Your Lord did not forbid you this tree save that you should become angels or become of the immortals." (20) And he [Shaitân (Satan)] swore by Allâh to them both (saying): "Verily, I am one of the sincere well-wishers for you both." (21) So he misled them with deception. Then when they tasted of the tree, that which was hidden from them of their shame (private parts) became manifest to them and they began to cover themselves with the leaves of Paradise (in order to cover their shame). And their Lord called out to them (saying): "Did I not forbid you that tree and tell you: Verily, Shaitân (Satan) is an open enemy unto you?" (22) They said: "Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You forgive us not, and bestow not upon us Your Mercy, we shall certainly be of the losers." (23) (Allâh) said: "Get down, one of you is an enemy to the other [i.e. Adam, Hawwa (Eve), and Shaitân (Satan),]. On earth will be a dwelling-place for you and an enjoyment, - for a time." (24) He said: Page 1

"Therein you shall live, and therein you shall die, and from it you shall be brought out (i.e.resurrected)." (25)) Adam (as) is the first creation from humanity Allah وتعالى) (سبحانه made the human in the best form and his appearance is the best from any other creations, better than the sun, jinn, etc. And Allah commanded (سبحانه وتعالى) completed his form inwardly as well with knowledge. Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) the angels to prostrate to Adam (as) out of honor and for being favored with knowledge. They prostrated following Allah s command, but this prostration is not out of worship. Iblis did not prostate to him out of arrogance and pride since he saw himself as worshipper who had status. Here you will find the start of the fight between truth and falsehood. Allah وتعالى) (سبحانه asked him, what stopped you from prostrating to what I created with My Hands? This is to show us that Allah وتعالى) (سبحانه favors some over others, some people have and some people don t, but it s all a test. And these tests show what s inside us, we wouldn t know our inside without being tested. Iblis used his logic to measure Allah s command; Iblis saw himself as created form fire and Adam is created from clay, and this is a false excuse because we can t use logic with Allah s commands. We have to listen and obey. When a person is arrogant to Allah s commands then he goes to the lowest of the low. No one in paradise can be arrogant, it s the abode of those who are pure and it cannot have arrogance there. Iblis was arrogant to Allah s command and to Allah s creation. Iblis was casted out of paradise belittled and humiliated. Iblis asked for respite until the Day of Resurrection, and he was granted it. He said, just as You deviated me, I will do the same, and I will sit at the Straight Path and stop them from it, istaghfar Allah. He blamed Allah وتعالى) (سبحانه and this shows complete arrogance. It shows (سبحانه وتعالى) the shaitan doesn t sleep, he s awake to stop us from the Straight Path. May Allah protect us. Ameen. The shaitan will come from all directions, in your prayer, if not the prayer, then you re fasting, if not, then with the people. He wants to make the people ungrateful because gratitude is the way of being on the Straight Path. Gratitude shows through a person s worship. When you see your life is fine and you re thanking Allah وتعالى) (سبحانه then the shaitan comes to remind you of something sad to make you ungrateful, istaghfar Allah. Allah وتعالى) (سبحانه commanded Adam (as) and Hawa to live in paradise and eat whatever they want from there except to not come close to one tree. If they come close then it will make them slip and commit the sin. The shaitan whispered to them to eat from the tree. They had everything, but this one tree and this is how the shaitan wants to make the person ungrateful. You have everything but one thing. When they were in paradise, their awra was covered and the motive of the shaitan is to make the person revealed and exposed, whether from the outside or from the inside. He wants people to remove their clothes outwardly and he wants to expose our sicknesses inside from jealousy, pride, etc. How can the awra be removed? When a person commits a sin because it shows what he had inside to do that sin. Before Iblis whispered to Adam (as), he scanned him and knew his weakness. The shaitan flows in the blood so he knows our weakness. He knew Adam (as) wanted to live forever and wants to be Page 2

like the angels. And this is something in all of us, we want to look younger, look better and better, etc. So the shaitan came from this angle and said if you eat from this tree then you ll live forever and be like the angels. Iblis even swore by Allah وتعالى) (سبحانه that this is what will happen, as if it s a guarantee. When they just tasted from the tree, their awra was revealed outwardly. They were covered before, but now they were exposed. Taqwa conceals the awra inside and outside, but since there is no taqwa in the heart and the sin is committed, the awra gets exposed. When a person has taqwa inside, then it affects the outside. When they were exposed, they felt ashamed and felt their nakedness so they took from the leaves ق ا ل ر ب ن ا ظ ل م ن ا أ نف س ن ا و إ ن ل م ت غ ف ر ل ن ا و ت ر ح م ن ا ل ن ك ون ن ( say? of the tree to cover themselves. What did Adam (as) (They said: "Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You forgive us not, and bestow not (م ن ٱل خ س ر ين upon us Your Mercy, we shall certainly be of the losers.") These words were given to Adam (as) by Allah وتعالى) (سبحانه because He knows Adam (as) felt ashamed and regretted what he did, unlike Iblis. In order to be granted success to repentance, a person needs to admit to his mistakes. Allah وتعالى) (سبحانه forgave him, and they were brought down to earth. They were not brought down on this earth because of their sin because Allah وتعالى) (سبحانه forgave them before coming to the earth, but it s out of Allah s wisdom to put them on earth. The earth is only a temporary abode, it s not the eternal abode. You will have life and death on this earth, and this abode is charged with tests there are many tests. Messengers and books will be sent and then all will be brought back to the eternal abode. May Allah وتعالى) (سبحانه protect us from all fitnas. Ameen. (65) The leaders of those who disbelieved among his people said: "Verily, we see you in foolishness, and verily, we think you are one of the liars." (66) (Hûd) said: "O my people! There is no foolishness in me, but (I am) a Messenger from the Lord of the 'Alamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists)! They said: "We indeed believe in that with which he has been sent." (75) Those who were arrogant said: "Verily, we disbelieve in that which you believe in." (76) So they killed the she-camel and insolently defied the Commandment of their Lord, and said: "O Sâlih! Bring about your threats if you are indeed one of the Messengers (of Allâh)." (77) So the earthquake seized them, and they lay (dead), prostrate in their homes. (78) Then he (Sâlih) turned from them, and said: "O my people! I have indeed conveyed to you the Message of my Lord, and have given you good advice but you like not good advisers." (79)) They asked for a she-camel that is pregnant in the tenth month and this became a condition for their belief. The she-camel appeared to them, then they killed it and told Salih (as) to bring on the punishment, and it was brought forth. When they were seized, he told them I have you good advice but you have those who advise you, subhan Allah. (80) "Verily, you practise your lusts on men instead of women. Nay, but you are a people transgressing beyond bounds (by committing great sins)." (81) And the answer of his people was only that they said: "Drive them out of your town, these are indeed men who want to be pure (from sins)!" (82) Then We saved him and his family, except his wife; she was of those who remained behind (in the torment) (83) And We rained down on them a rain (of stones). Then see what was the end of the Mujrimûn (criminals, polytheists and sinners). (84)) The people of Lut were committing an indecency never done before on the earth, they had desires for men and not their wives, subhan ALlah. The one who s tarnished and spoiled in sin will find those who are not committing that sin as odd. They said to take out the family of Lut (as) because they want to be pure from sin, subhan Allah. The family of Lut (as) except his wife were saved from the town that was destroyed. You find the people are in the struggle between truth and falsehood regarding the aqeedah or temptations. (قصة شعيب عليه الس لم) (as) Story of Shuaib Page 5

بسم هللا الرحمن الرحيم Surah Al Araf 85-102 Shuaib (as) delivered the same message to worship Allah وتعالى).(سبحانه The transgression of the people of Shuaib (as) was they would take the rights of the people in full, but they wouldn t give the rights to others. (قصة موسى عليه الس لم) (as) Story of Musa Surah Al Araf 103-136 The story of Musa (as) is with Firaoun, then with the magicians who later believed. The magicians were on falsehood, but when the truth was made clear to them, they believed. Then there s the story of Musa (as) with Banu Israel. And this shows you the struggle with truth can be both outer and inner with those around you. Musa (as) struggled with Banu Israel until his death. Thus We made a trial of them, for they used to rebel against Allâh s Command (disobey Allâh) (163) And when a community among them said: "Why do you preach to a people whom Allâh is about to destroy or to punish with a severe torment?" (The preachers) said: "In order to be free from guilt before your Lord (Allâh), and perhaps they may fear Allâh." (164) So when they forgot the remindings that had been given to them, We rescued those who forbade evil, but We seized those who did wrong with a severe torment because they used to rebel against Allah's command (disobey Allâh). (165)) On Saturdays they have to worship Allah وتعالى) (سبحانه the entire time, they can t work. And this town was known to catch fish, and as a test, the fish would come to the surface on Saturday, and not on others days. When a person is tested, does he follow his desires or have taqwa? Some people commanded to good and forbade evil, they didn t accept evil so they were saved. Others remained silent, and another group would place the nets on Friday and then take it afterwards thinking they can cheat Allah وتعالى),(سبحانه istaghfar Allah. This group was made into monkeys. No matter how smart a person thinks he maybe, the end will be for the muttaqeen. So take account of where you want to be on truth or falsehood.
