Mission Statement This is the graphic standards manual for the Botswana Olympic Committe. In this manual, you will find the brand logo, rules for its usage, as well as guidelines for all other aspects of the brand. This manual is also meant to convey the spirit of the brand identity, which is as follows: The Botswana National Olympic Committee (BNOC), incorporating Commonwealth Games Botswana, is an organisation with the mandate of facilitating the development of elite athletes for successful competition at the Olympic and Commonwealth Games. The BNOC is responsible for, inter alia, elite scholarship grants, training of coaches and administrators, athletes welfare and preparation of Team Botswana for major Games.
Color Guidelines These are the official selections for the main colors in the logo. When possible, it is preferable to use the Pantone color system. The CMYK system is the second choice. Fonts The font used for the 2014 in the logo is Gautami. This font shall be used for all text in the identity unless otherwise indicated (see below). It is recommended to use the same point size for the leading as the font. May need to be kerned. Logos The space surrounding the logo is referred to as clear space This space indicates the recommended distance between the logo and any other graphic elements nearby. This is the clear space minimum. There may be a greater amount if it enhances the design. You can see it here on the full color version of the logo. H, on the other hand, represents the height of the logo elements. These measurements are to be used for the clear space for the horizontal and vertical sides of the logo respectively. The clear space begins at the defined edges of the logo and extends as far as W and H.

It features the initials BOTSWANA NATIONAL, the OLYM- PIC RINGS, a zebra head with stripes juxtaposed as the flames of the olympic torch and our national flag stripes as a complementary feature. The main avatar which is the zebra head juxtaposed as an olympic torch shows the dynamism and uniqueness of the logo on its own. Minimum size: There is no set maximum size for the logo; however, it should not be smaller than half an inch in width. At any smaller size, the detailing would no longer be legible. Signage Vans The design for the van signage should be reminiscent of the advertising (using large pictures and the slogan). These vans are equipment transportation; thus the goal here is to make the audience feel as though they are as important to the athletes as the athletes equipment. Advertising In the advertising, we introduce the tagline Be Part of the Power. The goal of this tagline is to encourage people to take part in the energy of the Olympic Games at Sochi. This energy is created in the ads using dynamic imagery of athletes partaking in Olympic sports. The logo is included in white. Billboard This is a billboard design for the BNOC. The bright colors and motion in the image catch the viewer s attention. The message is solidified with the use of the tagline. All billboards are to be eye-catching with a clear message. Website The final feature of the Botswana National Olympic Committee brand identity is a website. With the website, we once again make use of a large, dynamic image, this time for the background. One also appears in the footer, along with the logo in white. The header features the logo in its full color version as well as the color arcs seen in the stationary set and brochure. These basic elements appear throughout the entire website.
