WELCOME & INTRODUCTION Dear friends, I am pleased and happy, as President of the Hellenic Karate Federation, for the entrust of the Karate-1 Youth World Cup in Corfu which succeeds the 6 th edition of the WKF Youth Training Camp in this beautiful island of Ionian Sea. We feel really honored for the trust to host this outstanding event of the Karate-1 series, as it is an excellent opportunity for young competitors to participate in a high level competition, when at the same time, they are able to earn ranking points according to the official WKF ranking system. COMPETITON VENUE The competition will take place at the National Indoor Corfu Sport Hall. It has a capacity of 800 spectators, while there is an additional training room beside the main stadium for the training of athletes before competitions. There is a roomy parking place, which has a capacity of 100 cars. The transportation from the official Hotel to the Sport Hall and back for the competitions on July 5 th, 6 th and 7 th will be free of charge ONLY for the delegations and individuals which made the hotel reservations through the official travel agent. TICKETS FOR SPECTATORS Entrance for spectators is free of charge. 3

ON-LINE REGISTRATION All competitors, referees, coaches and officials must register online ONLY through their WKF National Federation Member. The WKF National Federations will only use the WKF On-Line Registration for this purpose: http://www.wkf-registration.net. In case of any questions or problems concerning the On-Line Registration please contact the WKF Secretariat Office via the email address: secretariat@wkf.net The WKF National Federations are responsible for the quality of the entered registration data. Changes of online registration data are possible until Friday June 21 st 2013. After that deadline (June 21 st 2013) the On-Line Registration will close and a penalty to all further registrations may be applied according to the WKF Rules. The official registration session will take place on Friday July 5 th 2013 from 12.00 a.m. to 18.00 p.m. at the Official Hotel. If changes are required during the official registration session because of incorrect, missing or new registration data, a fee of 10 is charged for each change. At registration, accreditation cards will be issued with the participants main data, a photograph and information about registered categories. The accreditation card must be worn at all times during the event. Participation is limited to holders of valid WKF ID cards. Validity of WKF ID cards will be verified during the official registration session. The WKF ID card can also be purchased at the official registration session on Friday July 5 th 2013. Only members of national federations recognized by WKF are admitted to participate. Any athlete not registered by his/her national federation who wishes to participate in the World Cup event must present a relevant letter granting him/her the authorization by his/her national federation to take part in such event or he/she shall be granted the WKF permission to do so. 7

Athletes have to bring their equipment. PRIZES Cups will be awarded to each of 1 st winners. Medals & Diplomas will be awarded to each of 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd winners. 8
RANKING Youth competitors can earn ranking points according to the official WKF ranking system. The results of the Karate1 Youth World Cup event will also influence the official continuous WKF World Ranking List. VISA REQUIREMENTS Greece is a Member-State of the European Union and has ratified the Schengen Agreement. Citizens traveling inside the E.U. just need to display their police I.D. Card without the need of a passport. However, a passport is necessary for a number of other transactions, such as currency exchange, purchases, etc. Visas are not required by citizens of Member-States of the Schengen Agreement. Greece follows the provisions of the Schengen Agreement, which abolished controls on common internal lands, at air and sea borders and allows Member-State citizens to travel around without a visa for a short stay period of up to three (3) months. Citizens of the majority of the countries that are not Member-States of the Schengen Agreement require a visa to enter Greece and the E.U.
