WELCOME Described by Murray Walker OBE as the greatest motor-sporting event in the world, the Isle of Man TT is a truly unique and awesome spectacle that has no equal and no substitute. With the demise of other similarly legendary events and circuits, the Isle of Man TT stands as the last of the great motor-sporting tests in the world today. With a course that has remained largely untouched since 1911, the 37¾ miles of public roads capture the imagination like no other motorcycling venue can. Whether it s the tight and twisty roads through tree-lined glens or the open spaces of the Mountain, the TT Course never ceases to amaze and astound. It is the ultimate test of man and machine. Once again the very best road racers from across the globe will be battling for the famous TT trophies in what promises to be another spectacular display of skill and bravery. Current Kings of the Mountain John McGuinness and Dave Molyneux head the entry list in what s fast shaping up to be a Battle Royale between experienced campaigners such as Bruce Anstey and Cameron Donald, and the Young Guns, headed by the brothers Dunlop and the brothers Birchall. And with Guy Martin, Simon Andrews and Karl Harris amongst those looking for their first win, TT 2013 will be unmissable! Racing kicks off with the truly awesome TT Superbike Race on Saturday 1st June, followed by the first of the ever-popular Sidecar Races. Monday hosts two events with the first of the Supersport Races and the Superstock Race. Wednesday sees the second races for both the Supersport and Sidecar classes before the Festival is rounded off in true style on Friday with the intriguing Supertwins Race and the thrilling Senior TT. Away from the racing, fans can expect another action packed Festival with plenty of thrilling entertainment on Douglas sea front and around the Island. Extreme sports, stunt shows, air displays, music, games and a number of unique TT events will all feature in the action-packed calendar. Fans will also have numerous opportunities to meet and greet their heroes with chat shows, signing sessions and paddock walkabouts a feature of the action up at the TT Grandstand.

MANX GRAND PRIX The idea of a race for young motorcycling amateurs and private entrants on the world famous TT Course was first mooted in the early twenties. The first Manx Amateur Road race Championship was held in 1923, the meeting to be known as the Manx Grand Prix. Now celebrating its 90th anniversary, The Manx is possibly the world s biggest race for amateurs and provides riders at grass roots level with the ultimate racing challenge. Now an integral part of the Isle of Man Festival of Motorcycling, the Manx Grand Prix reverts to two race days - its format in 1928 - having been a single race day from its inception in 1923. The iconic Manx Grand Prix title remains, as do all the races for modern machines which continue to provide spectacular action typical of racing on the famous TT Course. Practice and qualifying commences on Saturday 17th August and runs through to Friday 23rd. The opening Manx Grand Prix race, the Newcomers will take place after the inaugural Classic TT Races on the morning of Wednesday 28th August, followed in the afternoon by the Junior Manx Grand Prix. Friday 30th August will see the now well established Supertwins and Lightweight Manx Grand Prix race run concurrently in the morning, followed by the blue riband Senior Manx Grand Prix in the afternoon. Friday 30th will also be marked with a MGP past winners parade around the Mountain Course to celebrate the event s 90th anniversary. The Illustrious list of former MGP winners includes Michael Dunlop, Ian Hutchinson, Charlie Williams, Phil Read, Philip McCallen, Nick Jefferies and Carl Fogarty which promises to make the lap a memorable occasion. Its no wonder that many riders come back year after year to experience the Manx route, such is the diversity of the Island s landscape. Everything from slate quarries to Moorland becks, volcanic rock by the sea to muddy glens, the Two-day has it all. The Trial has been won over the years by some of the leading names of British Trials; Artie Radcliffe, Sammy Miller, Martin Lampkin, Dougie Lampkin, Graham Jarvis and local star Steve Colley to name just a few. www.iomfom.com MANX CLASSIC WEEKEND TRIAL (1 & 2 SEPTEMBER 2013) The Manx Classic Weekend Trial regularly attracts a field of up to 200 riders from as far afield as South Africa, USA, Canada, Italy, France. The event first took place in 1996 and has grown into one of the largest and most popular observed classic motorcycle trials in the British Isles, featuring BSA s, Ariels, Triumph s, Greeves and Matchless machines. The event includes an average of 40 sections each day that are linked by tracks, open moorland, forests, lanes and main roads.
